  • Bigots being bigots. Sorry that all happened to you. For what it’s worth, I think the police let you down but I also doubt the police had the numbers to be as effective as they should have been to keep order. A total failing by champagnecharlie1888 (Mon 15th Jun 2020 11:59am)
  • And the lovey tenements in the reflection by champagnecharlie1888 (Fri 10th Jul 2020 12:00pm)
  • I’m same area/same type of building. We were £1,400 last year in total. We pay quarterly to HP. Your situation is extortionate, what work have your factors been doing? by champagnecharlie1888 (Wed 21st Oct 2020 11:28am)
  • Came here to say I hate fireworks then saw this comment. Agreed by champagnecharlie1888 (Wed 4th Nov 2020 10:08pm)
  • Thanks, I suspected as much but wasn’t sure. I’ll go back to the factor today and ask about the roof inspections and say this is their responsibility. by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 1st Dec 2020 10:00am)
  • Brilliant, thanks. It’s Hacking and Patterson if that makes any difference? The leak is literally dripping down the chimney into the empty fireplace. So I think it could be a lack of chimney cap or something (hopefully simple) like that. Thanks for your reply by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 1st Dec 2020 10:38am)
  • I've went back to HP and queried how they are saying its a private issue without even investigating the roof and chimney. We will see what they come back with but tbh I'm expecting them to be awkward and cause a fight. Thanks for recommendations and advice by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 1st Dec 2020 11:15am)
  • That is brutal. Are you getting anywhere with getting the factor to fix it for you? by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 1st Dec 2020 12:01pm)
  • I’ve emailed them back asking for an explanation of how they know it’s not a building/factoring issue without even inspecting the roof since I reported the leak... the wee guy is now just patching my emails lol. I’ll give it till tomorrow by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 1st Dec 2020 2:34pm)
  • If it’s about schools then look to east ren, not Glasgow by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 1st Jun 2021 10:08am)
  • Globalisation, more money coming into Glasgow, more money being generated by Glasgow, more gentrification, and more progress towards opportunity for young Glaswegians = less neds and young teams. by champagnecharlie1888 (Wed 9th Jun 2021 11:02am)
  • Thanks. I am not a member of any road running club etc, so being part of a group that’s renting a track isn’t an option for me. I’d feel some school days nostalgia running on scotstoun by champagnecharlie1888 (Fri 16th Jul 2021 12:58pm)
  • Brilliant, thanks - thats not too far from me really by champagnecharlie1888 (Fri 16th Jul 2021 12:56pm)
  • Thanks for the info, I’ll look into getting on Calton by champagnecharlie1888 (Fri 16th Jul 2021 1:01pm)
  • Hutchinson is the school I was on about. Might hop the fence now that schools are out for summer by champagnecharlie1888 (Fri 16th Jul 2021 12:59pm)
  • Is there a will in place or did she pass intestate? If there is a will in place, contact the solicitor who drew it up. I’d cross post this in r/legalhelpuk and see what advice you can get. Have you and the partner discussed the money? Admittedly it doesn’t look good but perhaps his actions aren’t as it seems, maybe he has moved the money but is intending to pay the funeral costs etc? by champagnecharlie1888 (Wed 15th Dec 2021 8:46am)
  • Good luck OP. I really hope this is resolved they way your mother wanted by champagnecharlie1888 (Thu 16th Dec 2021 9:04am)
  • I don’t think I’ll ever stop. My partner and I are 32 and 31. Both paycheques in our household are very decent, maybe 120 combined. But with the way things are going, cost of living, talk of starting a family etc, we talk about money a lot. We don’t use credit cards, only debt is the mortgage but money and expenses are something always something we think about and budget. There are some junior folk at my work just joined who are buzzing about the pay, saying it’s a decent jump from their last gigs. The money isn’t great here at their level, about 21 to 26 and I listen to them talk and I think their previous employers are tight, robbing bastards. by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 23rd Aug 2022 1:39pm)
  • If you don’t mind, what are you doing to upgrade your energy infrastructure? This sounds really interesting. I’m planning to do some around the house… once I know what it is I need to plan! by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 23rd Aug 2022 1:40pm)
  • Thanks for taking time to reply. I read everyone of your reply and nodded to myself despite being 99% sure that it does not apply to us! Good luck with your upgrades, I hope the work goes well by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 23rd Aug 2022 3:22pm)
  • Nice one, thanks! by champagnecharlie1888 (Mon 8th May 2023 7:29pm)
  • From what I’ve heard the clubs vary in price from location to location? This one is apparently more expensive because of added extras like golf etc. I basically want a gym and a few rounds of golf combined into one location. But the price according to the guide in the link above means the convenience probably isn’t worth the amount of increased cost to me by champagnecharlie1888 (Mon 8th May 2023 7:37pm)
  • Op should block the hole in the glass with some wood and screws. Which will stop the junkies from reaching through and letting themselves in to do smack. But it will also somehow allow Hacking & Paterson to charge £900 for a new front door due to the damage caused by the screws into the wood by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 16th May 2023 11:27am)
  • I didn't know any of this. I've just downloaded Infinity and am looking forward to giving it a go. by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 6th Jun 2023 2:06pm)
  • How long until the owners pop up behind another company? by champagnecharlie1888 (Wed 19th Jul 2023 1:23pm)
  • My old neighbor was a rangers fan and he always wore red blue and white, or orange lol. It was tragic from a 59 year old man. I'm a Celtic fan but I hate everything about the west of Scotland when it comes to Scottish football, it brings out the worst in people. I wish I could give up my interest. We came close to immigrating to aus last year and I was genuinely excited at the prospect of so much distance between us and fans, opinions, media coverage, work chat about Scottish football lol. How good is the summer when there is no football on. Sorry about this loon having a go at you. Hope you're alright and not too shaken by it. by champagnecharlie1888 (Tue 1st Aug 2023 10:47am)
  • It is testament to your good character that you are apologizing to this piece of dirt. You have nothing to say sorry for, her on the other hand... I hope this bad incident doesn't knock you down too bad for too long. Like you said in your post, you are more than your scars by champagnecharlie1888 (Mon 14th Aug 2023 12:40pm)
  • Who is the factor? I used to audit housing associations and plenty of them have companies set up to provide services to, so they are recharging themselves/journaling their own money between entities, not too concerned about the "cost" to themselves. by champagnecharlie1888 (Wed 6th Sep 2023 11:42am)
