  • We’re currently having a bizarre experience with zone whereby they’re sending someone out immediately for some issues and compulsively ignoring me for others. It would appear if the issue has the potential to damage the landlord’s property long term, then they’ll attend to it immediately. If it’s something that’s causing us, the tenants, some sort of problem or inconvenience then they don’t give a shit and put their fingers in their ears in the hope you’ll shut up about it eventually. by dpcos (Thu 15th Apr 2021 3:26pm)
  • There’s a bit in pollok park next to the river with cherry blossoms! by dpcos (Fri 16th Apr 2021 9:01am)
  • I done it a wee while ago with a hotel in perth when much of the central belt was tier 4 and perth wasn’t. We were virtually the only people there. I had a brief heart attack when they asked me to confirm the postcode on the booking, but all she said was ‘did you have a nice drive up?’. My point is, people stopped caring some time ago and hard up hospitality venues are by and large glad to have the business. It’d be bad customer service to start questioning guests on their home address anyway, plenty of reasons your billing address would be different from your current residence that aren’t worth a hotel receptionist on close to the minimum wage getting into. Enjoy your trip :-) by dpcos (Wed 26th May 2021 9:33am)
  • Putting my CV on cv-library.co.uk tended to yield a lot of calls/emails from various recruiters. A lot of irrelevant/unsuitable positions from a lot of them but I got my previous and arguably best job as a result of a cold call from a recruiter using the site! by dpcos (Wed 26th May 2021 8:19pm)
  • Loads of folks have already said the three judges and tennent’s but I had quite a nice pint in the Aragon on Byres road recently too. Surprisingly nice bogs for an ‘old mans pub’ as well! by dpcos (Tue 28th Sep 2021 10:39pm)
  • I feel like it’s worth pointing out that there’s more than likely a significant amount of vehicles, I.e elderly diesel black cabs, large saloon vehicles, ‘hot hatch’ type cars, MPVs, parcel delivery vans, motorhomes etc. which are pumping out far more emissions in the city than modern mid-range SUV style cars. Can’t help but feel there’s a more effective form of action than effectively going BIG JEEP BAD! by dpcos (Fri 12th Nov 2021 6:29pm)
  • Massive thanks for this - managed to get registered with these guys :-) by dpcos (Mon 15th Nov 2021 3:29pm)

  • Tartan on Paisley Road West was always my go-to for a hungover mince pie supper and thought it was decent. Heard other folk saying they think it’s absolutely minging though by dpcos (Wed 19th Oct 2022 7:29pm)
  • A lot of the yeasty smell across the city (also pretty prevalent in Edinburgh) actually comes from whisky distilleries, rather than breweries as commonly thought. The Strathclyde Distillery that can be seen south of the river from Glasgow Green is a pretty big culprit and it wouldn’t surprise me if you can smell that in the West End depending on the wind direction. by dpcos (Tue 8th Nov 2022 2:41pm)
