  • Irish here also! Derry woman and Longford man living southside Glasgow. My boyfriend did part of it there a month or so ago. He said it was grand but he said the best advice he could give anyone is obviously pack as light as you can. And he wrapped his feet to stop blisters. Midgies are an absolute shit show. Way worse than anything I have experienced anywhere in ireland and we camped all over Ireland. Get the smidge spray and buy yourself one of the face/head nets and they are life savers. • Haha yeah probably! Hard to miss. My boyfriend is a postcard for Ireland. The most ginger man you will ever set eyes on. If you need any more advice on places to visit in Scotland or west highland info let me know. He researched it ALOT (too much in my opinion, lol) and we have toured about alot of Scotland so far! by easypeasy666 (Sun 11th Jul 2021 10:56am)

  • Love PHILLIES in shawlands but also deafened by the music hhaah by easypeasy666 (Mon 4th Jul 2022 1:05am)
  • Absolutely agree. Not a new trend. No drug usage is apart from massive increase in ketamine use (IMO). This rise has been discussed in many article due to many reasons, which actually make alot of sense. One being it's more ethical than coke. Two being it doesn't give you a hangover or any crazy anxiety so it fits well into the working person's life - they used the example of workaholics in London who maybe don't have the time to get hungover but want to relax. Another reason being its cost. - in terms of cocaine. In my experience it has always been widely available and used. by easypeasy666 (Mon 4th Jul 2022 4:14pm)
  • Totally agree with your point on psychedelics. I used to work in a pub and the crowd were a particular crowd and they all took coke and drank ALOT. But talked with many of them and not one of them have ever dabbled in psychedelics..I guess the stereotype "hippie" is a stereotype for a reason because alot of crowds outside of this In my experience will not touch the stuff because the idea of loosing control and dissociation is way too scary... Coke give you control and I almost think it's use can nearly be associated with personality types. That's my HOT take. I could be wrong 😌🤣 by easypeasy666 (Mon 4th Jul 2022 4:20pm)
  • Yeah and tbh was the exact reason why the increase in popularity for ketamine confused me a bit in different circles. But! The thing with ketamine is how u use it. Wee bumps fine or it can blow the fucking head off you. Depending what kind of person you are. Again similar to before, the same kind of people who love psychedelics seem to love the khole and vise versa 🤣🤣 quite interesting to think about by easypeasy666 (Mon 4th Jul 2022 4:44pm)
  • Ohhh yeahhhh! Everywhere..I'm not even from Scotland but I live here..so I know from two countries (Ireland and Scotland) ketamine use is veryyyyy popular. It is also used quite differently depending on the person and their "scene". Some people use it to club/party others use it at home or indoors in larger quantities to dissociate completely AKA a khole. by easypeasy666 (Mon 4th Jul 2022 8:07pm)
  • Haha aw man I heard that.. absolutely ragen for the people who bought the tickets..heard they were expensive.. like £180 per tick by easypeasy666 (Mon 4th Jul 2022 9:38pm)

  • Hahab yeah there is a festival for Rush in. Glasgow by easypeasy666 (Mon 4th Jul 2022 11:18pm)
  • Hhahahahha 🤣 agreed. It can be a great drug. Bet the hospital stuff was top notch though 😉 - commonly used as an anaesthetic as such. But more recently used for individuals who are resistant to medication for the likes of depression etc ✌️ glad u had a fun time by easypeasy666 (Tue 5th Jul 2022 12:38am)
  • Interesting that it was popular..I do wonder though would that have been in powder form and would it have been in groups of people who possibly worked in the area of medicine or that type of field. I don't doubt it was around but I think it's accessibility and the powdered form and widespread use has definitely increased since. As for ket bladder..i am well aware of it, scary stuff yeah! From what I have read damage to the bladder happens with alot of use. Like daily if not a few times a week. At that point it crosses the boundary between recreational and a drug problem and sure that is a whole other issue in itself. by easypeasy666 (Tue 5th Jul 2022 6:53am)
  • That's so sad. Terrible to hear 😥 in not advocating for its use by no means. And I do agree with you in terms of ketamine used for depression..it encourages people to self medicate. Same goes for certain psychedelics and people microdosing for depression or mood disorders. I have chatted with so many people who upped their microdose because they "never felt anything" and "felt normal" - the whole point is that you DONT feel anything. They increase the dose and feel something and think that's it, I've got it right now when in reality they have macrodosed and are borderline tripping. I 100% will also advise to discuss with a doctor. As for discussion on ketamine. Only thing I mentioned was its increase in usage. Nothing more. And it's certainly has increased in that respect although in sure it was available before. by easypeasy666 (Tue 5th Jul 2022 11:41am)
  • Well about a month back I was going through town and I saw a couple of old dudes from afar wearing rush t-shirts. I thought to myself, this couldn't just be a coincidence random dudes scattered about wearing t-shirts. Anyways I looked it up and there it was..a rush fest! So I'll be hitting that up next year for sure and see what it's all about 🤘 by easypeasy666 (Tue 5th Jul 2022 11:45am)
  • I can literally park right outside by easypeasy666 (Tue 5th Jul 2022 9:28pm)
  • Agreed. Armstrong's is always packed on a Wednesday and it's very chill and easy going. You will atleast meet like-minded folk .u don't even need to go and play. Lots of people just land up and chill by easypeasy666 (Wed 6th Jul 2022 1:45pm)
  • I disagree..I don't think it was necessary to mention. I think everyone would have just assumed he had kids...... by easypeasy666 (Fri 8th Jul 2022 4:52pm)
  • The pure gym app tells you the busy times and the quieter times. I'm my gym the busy times are 8am before work and then busy again around 5 after work. Between 5-7 ish are rammed..I would avoid then by easypeasy666 (Sat 9th Jul 2022 1:10pm)

  • No just the slides and bouncy castle ? I'm guessing it is there then. It's been a while since I was last there by easypeasy666 (Sat 16th Jul 2022 1:12pm)
  • I always laugh ... When I moved to Glasgow, everyone back home thought "oh god, ye would need to watch yourself moving there, it's mental" and when I eventually moved to Glasgow and told people where I was from the glaswegians would say "oh god, I heard that place is a bit dodgy and rough" - I have never had issues living in either place. It is fear of the unknown.... And obviously media and hearing the bad stories. People rarely tell u the good parts. Anyways my whole point is, I will reiterate what most people here have said. Be wise. You are going to be living in a city. Keep to yourself. Don't walk alone at night or in badly lit areas. Don't get wrapped up in any dodgy shit. That's not the say u can't have fun (I'm a female) and I certainly be careful where I walk at night or alone any time for that matter and I don't particularly feel like I'm living in fear. Just not being stupid. End of. Enjoy yourself and don't be limited by unnecessary worry. If you are that worried then don't move to the area's you mentioned. I first lived in scotstoun, had no issues. Living southside now. Everywhere here is great and the people are lovely.... by easypeasy666 (Sun 17th Jul 2022 9:33am)

  • I must be the only person who thinks Scottish weather is not THAT BAD. And it's deffs not that grey either. I find it is muchhhhhhh brighter that the west coast of Ireland. And as for the heatwave, sure? It's hasn't been scortching the whole time but it's certainly warmer with sunny spells..... We do live in the northern hemisphere after all and besides - no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes... by easypeasy666 (Sun 17th Jul 2022 11:20am)
  • Flatwhite = hipster coffee choice by easypeasy666 (Wed 20th Jul 2022 6:48pm)
  • It's definitely not a young person thing. I am young and I have had the same experience of people just walking around Lidl blaring music from their phone or people on the bus. Also was on the boat from Belfast to Scotland and went into the cinema area to watch a movie and a dude from Glasgow in his 40s comes in and his phone rings and he answers it on speaker phone and proceeds to loudly chat while we all try to watch the movie..... by easypeasy666 (Wed 20th Jul 2022 6:54pm)
  • I will also add. I too drink flatwhites, with oatmilk no less. So I'm talking shite about myself lol.. by easypeasy666 (Wed 20th Jul 2022 7:17pm)
  • I wasn't being very serious with that comment lol .. but I guarantee you ask most hipsters what way they take their coffee and they will say flat white. That's not to say other people don't enjoy them 😂 by easypeasy666 (Wed 20th Jul 2022 7:15pm)
  • You are correct actually. I noticed this a few years back when I worked in coffee shop. Never heard of a fkn cortado in my life and then overnight it was all I heard. by easypeasy666 (Thu 21st Jul 2022 9:44am)
  • There is an Italian place in the city center with an 8am drink license. Can't remember the name? But yeah you can drink there but you will have to wait and hour hahah by easypeasy666 (Thu 21st Jul 2022 8:26pm)
  • That's the one!!!! by easypeasy666 (Thu 21st Jul 2022 8:57pm)
  • This is one of the main reasons I haven't deleted insta either. - go on websites and whats on Glasgow. Still doesn't help with the local bar gigs and events etc. There are flyers about town which show you what is on that month by easypeasy666 (Wed 27th Jul 2022 3:06pm)
  • Also most reasonably priced. Hanoi bike shop is extortionate by easypeasy666 (Sat 30th Jul 2022 6:02pm)
  • Which guiness tasted better ? - I personally find it hit or miss in Glasgow to get a good pint of Guinness. I havent tried the place in shawlands u mentioned. I love guiness but hate shite guiness so depending on whether it was decent or not I'd be happy paying more etc.. £5.50 is very steep though. Around the 4.50/4.70 mark is more what I have experienced myself. So far the best two places for a pint that I have tried is the potstill and Armstrong's in battlefield. Sweeny's is terrible and they were apparently voted one of the best pints. I wholeheartedly disagree by easypeasy666 (Sat 30th Jul 2022 11:02pm)
  • Do u know if there are any more for sale as I would need two but could take your one and buy another ? by easypeasy666 (Tue 23rd Aug 2022 4:00pm)

  • Not to mention that Amsterdam is as flat as the eye can see...... Therefore perfect for cycling to anyone of all abilities by easypeasy666 (Tue 30th Aug 2022 3:38pm)
  • Be great if I could get the bikes working. Neverrrrr works for me by easypeasy666 (Tue 30th Aug 2022 3:49pm)
  • It's much much better than the Irish housing crisis..trust me. Atleast here u can get a flat affordable enough to not have to live with 4/5 other people. Nothing can ever compare to that. Coming from someone who moved from Galway to Glasgow. This is a fkn dream by easypeasy666 (Tue 30th Aug 2022 9:01pm)
  • I've a friend literally just moved from Galway and she moved over two weeks ago and got a house within the week. You need to get over here first tbh. That's how I got somewhere sorted. Myself and my bf stayed in a hostel for a week before getting our place sorted (that was 4 years ago). Infact my bf currently works in hostelling Scotland West end if that's ever somethign u guys may consider.... It's a difficult time ATM as there are students moving over for the academic year, that will settle soon. If u guys are a working couple though obvz your budget will be more. Southside is great. It's getting more expensive but areas such as cathcart/govanhill very affordable. Shawlands/mount Florida and battlefield also great but getting pricier by easypeasy666 (Tue 30th Aug 2022 10:36pm)
  • This is a joke. I recently did a trial and before even knowing if I had a job or not they paid me for the hours I worked. by easypeasy666 (Mon 5th Sep 2022 4:50pm)
  • I've been told by several American tourists that I don't sound Irish and I'm ready to lamp someone. The point is, be wary of who tells you, you are loosing your accent or sound like something else. Because some people haven't a fuckign clue and expect you to sound like fkn Bosco. Or say stupid shit like "top of the mornin'" ffs by easypeasy666 (Tue 13th Sep 2022 10:19pm)
  • I think people also forget that there are several accents within an area also. Some stronger than others. by easypeasy666 (Wed 14th Sep 2022 11:07am)
