  • I second this, me and my LGBT friends went to Polo and were turned away by the bouncers because "tonight is not the night" - we are all bi/lesbian girls. We later saw a video of us in the queue on their instagram advertising the club, and they conveniently left out the part where they didn't let us in. Polo really are shameless with their discrimination against people who don't look stereotypically gay enough. by extracheesypeas (Fri 8th Apr 2022 3:12pm)
  • I was sitting an online uni exam in May at about 2:30am (bad time management) and some lads thinking they were Robert Pattison's Batman were blasting Something In The Way by Nirvana at full volume out their balcony window across the street from me. I ended up opening my window and singing the lyrics very loudly, enough for them to hear. They shut their windows after half a minute and I didn't hear a peep from them the rest of the night :) if you can't beat them, join them. by extracheesypeas (Wed 20th Jul 2022 3:17am)
  • Glasgow is definitely too big for there to be a solid cultural distinction between each side of the river alone. Dumbarton Road for example is on the North side and most people who live or work around there are really unpretentious, salt-of-the-earth folks of all ages - but elsewhere on the same side, 10 minutes' walk away on Byres Rd/Great Western Rd/Glasgow Uni area is a different story, where I've heard snippets of conversation including "yah I'm not really a fan of brioche" which says enough I think by extracheesypeas (Wed 7th Dec 2022 2:23pm)

  • I'm so sorry you went through that trauma but I'm glad you didn't have to deal with them when you were at the clinic to make things any worse! I'm planning to go there for just a simple routine check-up but the thought of having to face those horribly prejudiced people just to ensure my own health is stomach-churning. by extracheesypeas (Sat 11th Mar 2023 12:46pm)

  • I loved Howler!! You're the first person I've ever seen mentioning them by extracheesypeas (Sun 2nd Apr 2023 1:41pm)
  • I'm currently in therapy with the NHS and it took me less than a month after being referred to the waiting list by my GP to getting my first video-call appointment via the Sandy Road Centre - if you're fine with it not being face-to-face I'd really recommend it, my therapist is amazing and I actually prefer it being remote. by extracheesypeas (Tue 25th Apr 2023 1:13am)
