  • OP just full trolling, probably not even English by groldylocks (Mon 18th Jul 2022 1:16pm)
  • Come October you can find apples in the Cunninger Loop. Right now I would recommend blackcurrants/ redcurrant. If you have a garden plant a red/blackcurrant bush, they grow like crazy with basically no maintenance by groldylocks (Wed 20th Jul 2022 11:45am)
  • This is just a pipe dream but a complete overhaul of the roads. Having the M8 and M74 dissecting the city makes everything feel very disconnected and makes being a pedestrian/ cyclist a bit of an ordeal. Currently if you want to get between Southside, Town or the West End you have to travel through these spooky nowhere parts underneath the motorways where there aren’t any homes or businesses by groldylocks (Mon 5th Sep 2022 3:09pm)
  • Thanks for all the tips! I’m after a thick winter suit that’ll last and I’m sucker for the brands like quick silver and O’neill so I might avoid decathlon. But I’ll check out Lomo they sound like they know their stuff by groldylocks (Fri 23rd Sep 2022 9:29pm)
  • Yeah I couldn’t find any on their website but it might be worth visiting their shop by groldylocks (Fri 23rd Sep 2022 9:31pm)
  • Thanks I’ll check that out by groldylocks (Fri 23rd Sep 2022 9:30pm)
  • The easiest surf beaches to reach from Glasgow are over on the east coast Dunbar etc. and I think there is a surf school their where you could lessons/ hire stuff. Just check the conditions on magic seaweed before you go (search Dunbar forecast magic seaweed) and be prepared to drop everything when it’s good. As a beginner you’ll be looking for a forecast of roughly 2-4foot waves with a gentle wind <10mph by groldylocks (Fri 23rd Sep 2022 9:39pm)
  • A commenter elsewhere in the post says that you can’t made vit d when the sun is lower than 45degrees in the sky, so if that is true then this makes sense as at 45 degrees your shadow will be the same height as you by groldylocks (Mon 3rd Oct 2022 9:42am)
  • Are you from England? If so I think you’ll struggle, there just isn’t really the same chicken shop culture up here by groldylocks (Thu 6th Oct 2022 6:32am)
  • I’m working night shifts at QEUH over New Years. I’ll have 4 spaces in my car and happy to give lifts as long as you don’t mind an old crappy car 😂 Leaving Southside 6:30pm 31st/1st Returning Southside 7:30am 1st/2nd by groldylocks (Sun 25th Dec 2022 4:14am)
  • The beaches in Ayrshire are fine an all but they are all quite towny by groldylocks (Sun 25th Dec 2022 9:16am)
  • Do you have a bicycle or could you borrow one? If so I would highly recommend Scalpsie Bay on Bute. It’s beautiful, remote and it has a permanent seal colony on the rocks at the north of the beach, they are great fun to watch. Best thing about it is you can go there in a day without a car. Train from Glasgow to Wemyss Bay, then you get the ferry to Bute (only like £6 for a return). From there if you bring a bike with you it’s only about a 30mins cycle to the beach. by groldylocks (Sun 25th Dec 2022 9:14am)
  • I’ll be driving Southside to QEUH 6:30pm nye and diving back 7:30am nyd so nyd might suit you? • Someone told me it is owned by the same person? by groldylocks (Sun 19th Feb 2023 1:54am)
  • Haha true could buy the cheapest flight going that day but instead just sit in spoons getting binned by groldylocks (Sun 19th Feb 2023 2:37am)
  • Do you know any places specifically that serve both at that time? by groldylocks (Sun 19th Feb 2023 2:35am)
  • Thanks this is what I am after! by groldylocks (Sun 19th Feb 2023 4:32am)
  • These days it’s considered more humane to dissect dead bodies by groldylocks (Mon 3rd Apr 2023 1:45am)
  • Not sure what you mean. Plenty of other electronic music nights down south. I absolutely love dnb and there is no doubt England is the best place for it. But to say Glasgow is behind musically makes no sense. We are talking about regional tastes it’s got nothing to do with time. It’s not like England does everything first then the rest of the world follows, everywhere has always had its own specialties. by groldylocks (Sat 3rd Jun 2023 7:07am)
  • Tbh I grew up around Brighton also and I feel like there was always loads of dnb about. But I believe you that there could be more in the last few years as idk I haven’t lived in England for a while. As to why it didn’t take off in Scotland honestly got no idea, it’s kinda like asking why techno took off in Germany or why French people smoke more, fashion is so organic that sometimes it just seems random Good luck finding your dnb fix! by groldylocks (Sat 3rd Jun 2023 4:58pm)
  • Pretty sure there is no guy any more it’s just open by groldylocks (Sat 15th Jul 2023 9:52am)
  • Ah fair play, I have never encountered it cycling to work which is usually around 7am so I just assumed it was gone by groldylocks (Sat 15th Jul 2023 3:54pm)
  • You have to of lived in the UK for 3 years prior, and “ordinarily be a resident in Scotland at the time of applying/studying” of which there is no proper definition of time etc. Just that you can’t be living in Scotland solely for education by groldylocks (Sun 30th Jul 2023 7:39pm)
  • As with anywhere there are gonna be some ignorant people who might say some bad stuff but it will most likely be due not knowing any better rather than from a place of malice. And if you get roasted for anything it is much more likely to be about you being American and it will be in jest by groldylocks (Wed 9th Aug 2023 7:27pm)
