  • Have you considered cycling? I can't be arsed waiting on public transport so cycle everywhere in Glasgow. It's great for fitness, happiness and wallet! by irtyboy (Tue 22nd Jan 2019 12:30pm)
  • You'd be surprised dude 40min is a good way to get the blood pumping. I used to do cycle from gorbals to bishopbrigs for night shift on railways. Its hard at the start but it made me feel so good after a few weeks. Just get yourself a nice hybrid bike (possible on cycle to work scheme through your job) with good lights and you will be shocked how quickly the fitness improves. I always think of my bike as a time machine, it gets me to location much faster than I ever think and saves me money too! by irtyboy (Tue 22nd Jan 2019 12:51pm)

  • Hi there Thanks. This is an excellent response. Very well researched and lots of useful resources. The Home Report had quoted a factor fee of around £50 . Long story short the sellers were unaware of the price rise and were in arrears. Seems to be a genuine mistake. Apparently a few neighbours are wanting to move factor so hopefully can get the ball rolling. Cheers again I wasnt aware this was so shady. by irtyboy (Thu 10th Dec 2020 3:04pm)
  • Driving in cities that were built before the 1950s is neither quick or convenient. We should play to our strengths and embrace walking, cycling and public transport. by irtyboy (Thu 17th Dec 2020 3:28pm)

  • Really struck me today when I was in a queue for a bakery near queen's park. I was looking at all the parked cars. The excessive storage of private vehicles on public lands meant that other cars had to queue and move in single file. I looked up and saw the rusted remains of the trams overheard lines. I thought of workers waking to the trams and riding into town. Can't believe it was all ripped out. What a mistake. https://www.flickr.com/photos/kaputniq/46734214652/ by irtyboy (Thu 17th Dec 2020 4:34pm)
  • Thanks a lot for the video. Love that guys stuff didn't realise he had one on trams. You are totally right it's so mental that I have to carry my bike up to my tenement. Why can't I just build a shed on the road? That's what every driver does. by irtyboy (Thu 17th Dec 2020 5:29pm)
  • Mate I worked in Finland and saw hundreds of kids cycle to school every day in - 20c. Was it because they were really Hardy? No it was because there were good cycle lanes that meant there parents weren't worried about then being killed by drivers. by irtyboy (Tue 8th Jun 2021 1:24pm)
  • There were so many outright lies being spread on that page. One of the best was that it would bring in more junkies. What was so funny is there is already filters/bollards installed on streets in Dennistoun! Reidvale for example is massively improved because bollards stopped people taking shortcut to avoid lights. by irtyboy (Tue 8th Jun 2021 1:21pm)

  • I've worked and lived all over world too. Sweden/Australia/Singapore and others. I understand other places have other problems. I have always enjoyed coming back to Glasgow. • I have worked all over the world and find heat awful. Don't mind cold, the rain can be a bit rough but makes you appreciate the little things like a warm cup of tea more. I cycle 20 miles a day and have never stopped due to weather. You just gotta get on with it I suppose. by irtyboy (Mon 12th Dec 2022 1:38pm)
