  • Nah I get what you’re saying totally. But the stuff I experience here is more harsh. “You’re not even Scottish” “you’ve never experienced hardship” etc are the kind of judgments I’ve received from people who think a Glasgow accent determines social status. Think what annoys me the most is I’m working class and people better off/higher social class than me play the pretend working class glasgow card when they’re from bearsden... not sure if explaining it well but just irritating and most my pals from elsewhere get the same and some have adjusted their accent to avoid questions/slaggings every day by leinad_1998 (Tue 11th May 2021 8:26am)
  • Ngl that probably is the case... i’ll try surround myself with better people hahahah by leinad_1998 (Tue 11th May 2021 8:47am)
  • Yeah I agree if it’s just friendly patter then I don’t care. But some people are almost tribal. Was genuinely pissing myself at a girl at a beer garden on Saturday lecturing me etc about how I must be Tory and then she was hitting out with the fact “her grandad was working class” to a boy who has grown up in a council house (just not in Glasgow). If anything it’s hilarious seeing people convince themselves they’re hard done by if they’re from a wealthy area of the city but have a Glasgow accent by leinad_1998 (Tue 11th May 2021 9:36am)
  • This is the exact issue I’m on about hahahah. People going to elite private schools and living in houses worth 800k calling me who grew up in a council house a Tory 😂😂 insanity by leinad_1998 (Tue 11th May 2021 9:43am)
  • “My great aunties sisters cousins step dad was born in possil” genuinely sorta things they were coming out with by leinad_1998 (Tue 11th May 2021 10:20am)
  • Don’t even speak like that or use “ay” or “ken” and still get the piss ripped out me by leinad_1998 (Tue 11th May 2021 11:39am)
  • Now that stuff’s opened up again I’m really wanting to go to as much as possible (SubClub, Room 2, SWG3 etc). I’m into most things house and techno and I’m 22 fyi. Have been out Friday but most my friends aren’t into this scene so thought I’d take to here to find anyone in the same position? Never used Reddit before to do this but heard of other people successful in past and could possibly help someone out in the same position as me too in Glasgow? by leinad_1998 (Sun 15th Aug 2021 11:46am)
  • Could probably push to June, thanks for this tip appreciate it by leinad_1998 (Mon 3rd Jan 2022 4:59pm)
  • It’s hit or miss. I applied for a Lowther property in January and my move in date for the mid market property I’m due to move into (in a new development) has been delayed to May. So long as you meet the criteria and are quick with your application (as in the same day it’s advertised), you’ll likely get something offered or reserved. by leinad_1998 (Tue 14th Mar 2023 6:59pm)
  • Does anyone know of any temporary/short term lets in Glasgow for a couple of months max? Was meant to be moving into a new flat on Friday 19th May and I’ve just been told it’s delayed today. Need to move out current place weekend of 27th/28th May. Please message me any details, thanks by leinad_1998 (Wed 10th May 2023 7:48pm)
  • I’m renting from someone who’s illegally subletting where I stay - they misrepresented that they owned the house to me when I move in, so I don’t have any protection, but thanks by leinad_1998 (Wed 10th May 2023 7:51pm)
