  • Not sure there is a link between addiction and homophobia tbh by micksabhoy (Thu 13th Feb 2020 12:40pm)
  • Either bucks bar has always been really good for wings imo. Decent prices too considering the wings are pretty big compared to a lot of other places. by micksabhoy (Sun 23rd Feb 2020 8:18pm)
  • A few bams hanging about glasgow green when I walked through. Behaving like fannies and abusing folk. Didn't see one polis, are they meant to be enforcing this lockdown or are they not under any instructions? by micksabhoy (Wed 25th Mar 2020 2:03am)
  • Yeah I'm not really sure, have seen more out and about today. I get there will be more domestic call outs but there will be hardly any of the usual drunken madness and traffic violations so surely it'll even out for them. by micksabhoy (Thu 26th Mar 2020 3:34pm)
  • There was chat of them being given various powers by the Scottish government later this week. I'm not sure if they'll be arresting groups of fannies or folk just loitering or if they'll hand out fines. We're probably only several weeks away from a full blown Mad Max situation anyway so we'll soon forget all about it. by micksabhoy (Thu 26th Mar 2020 3:41pm)
  • Honestly was a little cynical about this but when I started clapping along with everyone on the street it was pretty amazing really. GF is a nurse at GRI and she was pretty emotional about it all. by micksabhoy (Fri 27th Mar 2020 12:56am)
  • The type of people who are complain are the types of people that would shite it if they had jobs like this and stay home during this pandemic. Good on you. by micksabhoy (Sat 28th Mar 2020 11:44am)
  • Girlfriend who is 27 weeks pregnant is doing her last of two shifts a nurse in the GRI today, I'm an absolute bag of nerves about it all. Apparently although she's pregnant she's to work until she's in her third trimester. My only comfort is that it doesn't seem to effect pregnant women or babies any more or less than other relatively healthy people. I'm always amazed by her dedication and empathy of her and those she works with. by micksabhoy (Sat 28th Mar 2020 11:42am)
  • That's a very kind reply and I'll definitely pass it on to her when she gets in. I'm in total awe of the woman. They're all absolute machines in that place. by micksabhoy (Sat 28th Mar 2020 6:02pm)
  • It's definitely a gimmick for some but I know plenty who are sincere and plenty of NHS staff who actually really appreciate it. I'll be clapping. by micksabhoy (Thu 2nd Apr 2020 2:35pm)
  • Resetting pram or nvram can sometimes help with startup issues. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204063 by micksabhoy (Wed 8th Apr 2020 9:35pm)
  • Stayed on rupert street for 2 years, absolutely loved it. Good combination of being fairly quiet but having loads of pubs and scran right on your doorstep. Subway closeby, plenty of busses on GWR and Woodlands road. It's a great place to stay. by micksabhoy (Mon 13th Apr 2020 5:03pm)
  • Gutted there won't be teenagers outside my flat fighting and pishing in the lanes next to my flat......well not more than usual anyway. by micksabhoy (Fri 24th Apr 2020 5:38pm)
  • Fuck em, they're putting everyone else's lives in danger. by micksabhoy (Sun 26th Apr 2020 5:23pm)
  • Yeah I mean I wouldn't advocate capital punishment. I suppose what I meant is I'd rather they themselves were hurt/killed than the innocent bystanders they're putting at risk. I wouldn't want them punished by death should they be caught. I can think that and also hate Tories. by micksabhoy (Sun 26th Apr 2020 7:29pm)
  • The fact that you're even thinking about it on this way tells me that you'll be absolutely fine. Glasgow is very safe these days but if you look for trouble you'll find it easily enough. by micksabhoy (Fri 1st May 2020 8:58pm)
  • The Dhabba is up there for me by micksabhoy (Mon 4th May 2020 8:31pm)
  • Boring but it's got to be paesano to be fair, although it's the popular one. But I don't like it enough to queue for hours outside like a fanny 10cm away from other fannies. by micksabhoy (Fri 15th May 2020 8:25pm)
  • Dunno how but I forgot about baked, I second this. Also have some of the most unique pizza toppings and combos. by micksabhoy (Fri 15th May 2020 9:43pm)
  • Had no idea you could get draught beer in pubs before I saw this, thanks for the info by micksabhoy (Sat 16th May 2020 8:25pm)

  • In the same position, has been stressful hoping the buyer of our current flat doesn't pull out. Have been given a "provisional" move in date by developers of June 26th which is our first baby's due date. All fun and games. by micksabhoy (Mon 18th May 2020 12:25am)
  • Aye it's definitely a weird one because I know Sturgeon is right to keep the lockdown for longer than they have down south but it's so difficult not being able to plan the move and know where we'll be when the baby is here. Ours is southside I think they're wanting to start the first week of June aye but I guess all developers will have that date up here. by micksabhoy (Mon 18th May 2020 9:50am)
  • Nah elsewhere in southside but not too far away. Hope it all goes ok for you though. by micksabhoy (Mon 18th May 2020 10:51am)

  • Second this, amazin pizza and class arancini if they're doing it during covid. by micksabhoy (Mon 8th Jun 2020 5:20pm)
  • Most of the stuff I know from.my family is aunts and uncles not getting certain jobs because they went to the wrong type of school, however I suppose that would be systematic sectarianism. With regards to racism I heard a few jakeballs around the time of the Brexit vote giving pelters to people of colour walking down our street in Calton, stupid shite like "you'll be on the boat back home" and stuff. Absolutely pond life. Thankfully I don't think Glasgow is "as racist" as some other big cities in the UK. by micksabhoy (Mon 8th Jun 2020 5:27pm)
  • Absolutely. But you get the idiots who say "it's not racism because the Irish aren't a race". I always say the same thing, if somebody told a polish person to "go home" it would immediately be seen as racist and rightly so. by micksabhoy (Mon 8th Jun 2020 6:15pm)
  • 14 deaths in police custody since 2013. One of those was a person of colour. Do you not care about any of the others? by micksabhoy (Tue 9th Jun 2020 1:12pm)
  • Good point. I'm not saying there isn't elements of racism within the Scottish police force btw, I just think it can be attributed more to class more than skin colour in the majority of circumstances. Black Lives Matter is an important movement that carries a message I completely agree with. However, it's important people don't forget that people of all races have been victims of injustice in our policing system. by micksabhoy (Tue 9th Jun 2020 3:45pm)
  • What a horrible thing to say about Glasgow. by micksabhoy (Wed 10th Jun 2020 8:50pm)
  • I'd have to agree with the Manchester and Liverpool. All working cities with a lot of Irish immigration. All a bit rough around the edges bit with some of the best folk you're going to meet. The amazing curries in Manchester probably make it slightly more comparable to Glasgow though. by micksabhoy (Wed 10th Jun 2020 9:16pm)
  • Somebody on here commented about leaving the horse as it didn't have anything to do with the bad stuff. I actually think that'd be class. by micksabhoy (Fri 12th Jun 2020 9:01pm)
  • Is that a joke that's too smart for me or is that true? by micksabhoy (Fri 12th Jun 2020 9:52pm)
  • When companies like apple get behind your cause it's really not a positive thing. by micksabhoy (Sat 13th Jun 2020 1:08pm)
  • Bloody hell, surely an opening in the CID for this lad. by micksabhoy (Sat 13th Jun 2020 1:10pm)
  • You do see the "double cone" on the statue every now and then, which gives the horse a unicorn look. by micksabhoy (Sat 13th Jun 2020 4:20pm)
  • Seen a bunch of these wee fudds round my way on the gallowgate dressed like shite ninjas and flingin "red hand salutes" with the polis watching on. by micksabhoy (Sun 14th Jun 2020 5:11pm)
  • Central cafe on saltmarket by micksabhoy (Sun 14th Jun 2020 8:17pm)
  • I was on a bike cycling through gallowgate and there was a bunch of them, trying to move in the way of the bike, I assume they wanted me to get annoyed enough to say something. Arseholes. by micksabhoy (Mon 15th Jun 2020 12:21am)
  • Did you complain? Was going quite often right up to the lockdown and was class every time. Was the trongate one mostly mind you. by micksabhoy (Mon 15th Jun 2020 4:06pm)
  • Haha aye to be fair i'm the same. Just a shame if it's a one off and it puts you off going back by micksabhoy (Mon 15th Jun 2020 4:29pm)
  • Gas anyone called them British nationalists? I've seen all the usual "minority of far right thugs" pish. by micksabhoy (Wed 17th Jun 2020 11:36pm)
  • Regardless of how much I like Glasgow, I've no idea why you'd want to move if you're life is so great just now. by micksabhoy (Thu 18th Jun 2020 12:35pm)
  • It's not a depressing shitehole at all. Maybe a good number of years ago it was but it's safer and has more going on than most other cities in the UK. by micksabhoy (Thu 18th Jun 2020 2:33pm)
  • It does. And you could say that to the post I'm replying to as well could you not? by micksabhoy (Thu 18th Jun 2020 3:08pm)

  • Orange lodge is an institution built on bigotry. We can't say Glasgow is United against racism until there are no Orangemen by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 11:20am)
  • I'm not a massive fan of police Scotland but they can stand as close together as they want. They're essential services and have to be in close proximity to themselves and other people as part of their jobs. by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 11:49am)
  • "Virtue signalling" folk really fuckin love this patter now. You could say this about any protest or rally I suppose. by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 11:48am)
  • Absolutely it's like white pride folk saying they're not racist. Scumbags to a man. by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 11:46am)
  • Aye I think there's a lot of Celtic fans who really think of themselves Catholic in a sense of irishness more than from a religious standpoint. The whole thing is a bit mad. by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 11:59am)
  • "I was mocking the person au responded to and not actually the police." I actually just thought of that after I post and was like...I've just made a cunt of myself there haha by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 12:00pm)
  • Just as well you've got such a badass username or people might think you're an utter gimp by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 12:24pm)
  • Aye, my nephew was going to put an "I heart the NHS" picture on his window and I was like "DONT BE SO SELFISH YOU VIRTUE SIGNALLING LITTLE BOLLOCKS!" Shows how superior I am to him, he'll thank me later. by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 12:27pm)
  • Agree completely, people who are sat on their holes in their houses love feeling better than everyone else though. by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 2:03pm)
  • I agree. I'm an atheist, not been to mass since I was a child and would would still say I'm from an Irish Catholic background. Which would get me called a fenian from certain people in society. by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 3:27pm)
  • You're getting downvoted but you're right, it's a total double standard. by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 4:34pm)
  • You ever been in Glasgow in July? You'd maybe romanticise this shite a bit less if you had to live through their vulgar behaviour on your doorstep by micksabhoy (Sat 20th Jun 2020 7:31pm)

  • Terrorist my hole. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 2:30pm)
  • Let's not split hairs but I would suggest terrorism is usually associated with an extremist cause of some sort whether that be religious or political. This has all the markings of a mental health issue (which admittedly most if not all terrorist incidents can be attributed to. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 2:37pm)
  • Ok, can we just leave it at that? We agree on most points. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 2:44pm)
  • There really is no need to get personal? I'm heartbroken from this incident just a few minutes walk from my flat. In my opinion it's not terrorism and it's not helpful to describe it as such before knowing the full picture. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 2:43pm)
  • Nope. Seems like you're making a bit of an assumption based on nothing. Take your slabbering rage and fuck off. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 2:58pm)

  • I have to say my heart sank when I saw it was the park Inn hotel because I knew these racist fucks would be out in full force. Sometimes better to see just how many there is though, better the devil you know. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 4:03pm)
  • "three people stabbed to death" may not be accurate as some saying the attacker could be on of those dead fyi. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 4:22pm)
  • No idea but just in case I was misunderstood, I wasn't suggesting it was a right wing / racist attack just that they'd be "out in full force" online with regards to blaming immigration etc. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 5:17pm)
  • It didn't though in the context of the OP but no worries. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 5:23pm)
  • Now saying on the BBC only one confirmed dead and that's the attacker. Who knows. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 5:25pm)
  • It's always the same mate, sensationalist press fly off the handle and want the big scoop before anyone else. You're doing a good job keeping up to date. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 5:40pm)
  • I agree that's fair, although I would say Sky were saying "possible terrorist incident" without really knowing anything before anyone else. by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 5:47pm)
  • Police confirm 1 dead and 6 injured btw by micksabhoy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 6:02pm)
  • Just so quiet around there now with lockdown, who knows how long the poor guy was there. by micksabhoy (Wed 1st Jul 2020 11:17am)

  • Moving in some time next month! Looks great, you liking it? by micksabhoy (Wed 1st Jul 2020 10:27pm)
  • Aye when I've been around it seems mostly pretty relaxed with families and stuff, maybe a couple of folk thinkin they're a cut above. That's great that you like it though. Nah not buying the show home mate, we were meant to be moved in on April 9th before all this crap happened and our flat sale fell through. by micksabhoy (Thu 2nd Jul 2020 9:54am)
  • That's a very good shout. Cheers, I appreciate that. by micksabhoy (Thu 2nd Jul 2020 1:29pm)

  • Absolutely. Sounds like you were unlucky! by micksabhoy (Wed 15th Jul 2020 9:34pm)
  • Haha I got it don't worry. Thanks for replying, it looks like a great area I'm just always anxious when moving somewhere new. by micksabhoy (Thu 16th Jul 2020 9:50am)

  • The guy throwing the bottles from a safe distance really epitomises these wee gimps. Would be nice to see him greeting to his folks when the polis show up. by micksabhoy (Sun 30th Aug 2020 10:54am)
  • What does this mean by micksabhoy (Sun 30th Aug 2020 11:35am)
  • But you were in govanhill just so you're aware. by micksabhoy (Sun 30th Aug 2020 12:00pm)
  • Estate agents probably call the area "Queens park" when it's govanhill because they know snobs won't pay the full price for it if they knew the truth. It's govanhill. I really don't see the problem. by micksabhoy (Sun 30th Aug 2020 7:02pm)
  • Don't understand the relevence to these wee fannies? I've just moved in to a new build estate and haven't seen anything remotely similar to them. Seems like snobbery on your/op's part. by micksabhoy (Sun 30th Aug 2020 7:00pm)
  • Fair enough looks like my assumption was correct. Built by big companies as opposed to owned or letter out by big companies or rich landlords. Funnily enough the flat I was on before the new build was frowned upon because some buildings around were built on the back of tobacco trade and slavery, sometimes culturally empty isn't maybe the worst thing. I think I must be being thick because I still don't really understand the relevance. by micksabhoy (Sun 30th Aug 2020 7:31pm)
  • If there's one thing I hate it's pussy bitch shits by micksabhoy (Sun 30th Aug 2020 7:59pm)
  • Blackfriars or Sloans are my go-to pubs in town. Would recommend either of them. Sloans is closer to central station if that's a factor. by micksabhoy (Tue 1st Sep 2020 9:26am)
  • Saw there was a stabbing in cathcart as well. Meant to be moving there soon and always thought it was safe but there's been a few news stories now featuring knives and guns. Beginning to think I've made a big booboo. by micksabhoy (Tue 1st Sep 2020 5:03pm)

  • Haha I couldn't deal with the rid neck Ifni got caught doing that. Other people have already moved in around us and have bins I'm sure so the bin lorry should go there. I've seen alternatives for the same price on Amazon and the like but just worried the council won't lift them if they're not council ones. by micksabhoy (Wed 16th Sep 2020 4:37pm)
  • Been through the website and phoned all the numbers you can phone. We've managed to order the recycling ones online but to order the green one you need to phone up and all the phone lines lead to nowhere. Very frustrating. Skip might be a plan, cheers for the advice. by micksabhoy (Wed 16th Sep 2020 6:29pm)
  • Cheers might just order one from a website, it's 240l and looks the exact same so surely will be ok! by micksabhoy (Wed 16th Sep 2020 6:36pm)
  • Went on the website, reported it damaged and put "no other possible way of ordering a new one" in the comments. They emailed and said if it wasn't damager they wouldn't replace it and if i wanted a new one to phones "this number". The number I called said during covid they were prioritising other services "thank you for calling" then line goes dead. Useless. by micksabhoy (Wed 16th Sep 2020 8:31pm)

  • You can't compare this lockdown to the one back in april/may. We are testing far more people and it is a different demographic who are contracting the disease, the deathrates aren't the same and the ICU numbers are not the same. by micksabhoy (Sun 1st Nov 2020 10:39pm)

  • As much as what you are saying is horrible and if it's true that's shocking. But surely you can understand this is a wee bit dodgy, we only have your word for this and encouraging any kind of vigilantism is a bit worrying. Can understand you posting out of sheer anger at the situation though, sounds horrible. by micksabhoy (Fri 13th Nov 2020 6:46pm)

  • Moved to cathcart a few months ago. I love it. Feel like I don't have the full picture of the place as everywhere is a bit strange during lockdown but it's a great part of the city. Like the comment before me said, Linn park is amazing and you are a bawhair from queen's park as well. A lot of great places for food or coffee, hipster as fuck but hipsters make good coffee. by micksabhoy (Fri 27th Nov 2020 8:27am)

  • I'm sorry I do agree there's a huge amount of racism and ignorance that goes on when people speak about Govanhill but your chat about the East End being "a whole lot shitter" when it's a huge area far bigger than Govanhill isn't really a good look. If you're going to complain about people being ignorant about your own area maybe give the hypocrisy a miss. by micksabhoy (Fri 18th Dec 2020 5:49pm)

  • It's fascinating that some people are so utterly self serving that they can't comprehend mask wearing being about anything other than protecting the wearer. It's fuckin astounding. by micksabhoy (Tue 29th Dec 2020 10:47pm)
