  • I have had good experience with them. I don’t remember if they have asked too much to me . I lived there for an year and I was happy with their service from Bath, England. by myrealact (Mon 27th Jan 2020 11:16pm)

  • I came from America too ( long time ago). I wasn’t aware about council tax. So, add council tax in to the equation too. TV license as well but that’s not big amount. As everyone said, in your budget you will get a decent flat around. You gonna love Glasgow. by myrealact (Wed 15th Apr 2020 11:51pm)

  • If you can’t get any help from a person, I have found a few books (even audio version of them) been very helpful when I was down. Please DM me or reply here and I can suggest a book which helped me a lot. by myrealact (Sun 28th Jun 2020 4:04pm)

  • I am new here too. But been an year now. I found a few gem places. Not sure if they can be called hidden. Canal side walk which start from north city centre and all the way up to God knows where is amazing. Tchai Ovna cafe in west end, loch 24 pub, river kelvin side walk near botanics, merchant city, riverside museum, necropolis and cathedral, platform at archs near central station, hidden lane tea house, Oran mor and may be a few more. not sure it is what you are looking and not sure how many are still open. Cheers! by myrealact (Sun 26th Jul 2020 11:52am)
  • Yep. That’s the one. Sorry I wasn’t very sure about it’s name but it’s a great place after a beautiful walk along side the canal. Have a snack and a a few beer and walk back with a big smile. by myrealact (Sun 26th Jul 2020 2:28pm)

  • today they were very aggressive. they seems addict or just mental. by myrealact (Mon 23rd Nov 2020 7:53pm)
  • >Update: I saw them again just 30 mins ago. There were 3 dudes and they became very aggressive when I told them to stop doing it there, they almost tried to hit me too. I was still polite and closed the door to not escalate it and came here to type this. They said no police can do anything and said everyone smoke at the entrance of the building all the time so what's the big deal ? Are they addict? or just being AHs? by myrealact (Mon 23rd Nov 2020 7:52pm)

  • I think I would not mind just silent smoke if they just smoke and leave (even though they should not do this at others place), but next morning you see alcohol bottles, and sometime broken, a dirty area with spit and mess, after a few months, someone gotta do something. by myrealact (Mon 23rd Nov 2020 7:59pm)
  • I would even do that but its a common entrance for the whole building. but gives me some ideas haha. by myrealact (Mon 23rd Nov 2020 7:56pm)
  • I think you have a point when you said why they have to come to my building for this ? I can ignore a few times but when its been going for months, Its no more a 'couple of joints' situation. by myrealact (Mon 23rd Nov 2020 8:02pm)
  • ..and thank you ! by myrealact (Mon 23rd Nov 2020 8:06pm)
  • No. I did not call police yet. But I will do call next time if I see them. Today was enough and their last chance. But I don't have much hope from Police in this lockdown time :( by myrealact (Mon 23rd Nov 2020 9:58pm)
  • Sorry. new thing for me. I thought weed is drug too. But today I learned. Thanks ! by myrealact (Mon 23rd Nov 2020 9:56pm)
  • thank you. I would call 101 if I see them again. Its all the trash and spit which I have more problems with. :( by myrealact (Mon 23rd Nov 2020 9:56pm)

  • Fun is good thing. But 3 am scream? by myrealact (Fri 1st Oct 2021 9:09am)
  • Noises are mostly at 3am. Mostly from students. Well, uni area. by myrealact (Fri 1st Oct 2021 9:09am)
  • It’s not around pub I think. It’s just students walking and screaming. The nearest pub is 2 blocks away. The complain is not about pubs or drunk people talking or singing . It’s about screaming like they are being murdered at 3am. Noise expected on busy roads but the scream I hear is something I didn’t hear anywhere else. by myrealact (Fri 1st Oct 2021 9:22am)
  • I wish. I can’t because I have tinnitus and ear plugs or extreme silence makes it worse. But in the past I used them and it did help. by myrealact (Fri 1st Oct 2021 9:29am)
  • Yes. It’s not needed to have such loud scream or noise at that hour of the night. Thanks for understanding. by myrealact (Fri 1st Oct 2021 9:26am)
  • Drunk people. by myrealact (Fri 1st Oct 2021 9:34am)
  • I guess chatting is still ok and expected.. Its the scream which makes me panic and lose my sleep. by myrealact (Fri 1st Oct 2021 9:31am)
  • …and worse by myrealact (Fri 1st Oct 2021 12:46pm)
  • They don’t just send sheriff. There must be some letter well before. If not you can put that point too. It happened to me too last year . But I made only required payment and no penalties. I later got in long email chain with Scott and Co and I had all the points in my favour. Finally council withdrew the collection. by myrealact (Thu 21st Oct 2021 6:44pm)
  • Lovely city turning in trash pile…and mostly I see is people either drink or smoking stuff. 😞 by myrealact (Sun 24th Oct 2021 12:44am)

  • Are you having a smart meter installed? If it’s installed it gives a good idea how much you using per day to avoid huge surprise. If not, I think if you keep using what and how you using and see the difference in a day or two to see if this is really how much you were using during last 2 months. This is a insane amount. by myrealact (Fri 18th Feb 2022 4:46pm)

  • yes. Notre Dame is now co-Ed. by myrealact (Mon 21st Feb 2022 12:57pm)
  • Neighbor's son goes to Hillhead and caught having drugs in a lane once. But I guess there are all kinds of pupils. Hillhead school is not that bad I assume but Notre Dame is better for girl child in my opinion. by myrealact (Mon 21st Feb 2022 12:57pm)

  • This is what I think and I might be wrong ...In India (and in many other countries), shops are generally owned and only owned by the people who runs them, so they have personal interest to keep it open and feel comfortable being flexible about the timings. Some of them even stay nearby or on top of the shop. But in here, the people are working in the shops are employees and extra time in the shop is extra time and it messes up all the payment and the calculations an many more. That's why when you see any shop closes at 5PM, its not good to enter the shop even just before 5pm because employees has to stay late to serve you if its not done by 5pm. Every extra second is kind of stealing their time. The closing time is also decided by the shop corporate etc. Other answers are quiet interesting too. Thanks all. by myrealact (Thu 26th May 2022 12:45pm)
  • council just told me that its police who will do what needed to be done and closed the case haha by myrealact (Fri 24th Jun 2022 1:02pm)

  • there is a bus in every 10 mins. but most of the time, they run so late and then boom! 3 buses at the same time after 30 minutes of wait. i kid you not, this is way too normal. i hate the Glasgow First buses from the bottom of my heart. i am with you on this frustration. I now prefer to walk to work which is 45 minutes for me. at least i know i will be there on time. by myrealact (Thu 6th Apr 2023 10:29am)
