  • Its not a mistake spotting contest. People shouldn't apply their own rules - the rules are objective for consistency. Consistency helps predictability and predictability(in terms of driving) helps safety. I think that's his point. by onedayinmygarden (Thu 23rd May 2019 6:52am)

  • Managed to get in just as it was piling up and took the m74 cutoff East bound. Was tailed back all the way to Polmadie cutoff then. Glad I made it as I was seriously going to piss myself if I had to sit in that. by onedayinmygarden (Wed 17th Jul 2019 9:00pm)

  • Letting agents arent responsible for anything. If they mess up then the buck stops with me. It's one flat so they don't contribute enough that's its worth using a letting agent by onedayinmygarden (Sun 28th Jul 2019 5:17pm)

  • Thought so. Did you do credit checks etc... keen to get someone that will look after the place, pay rent on time etc and in return I'll be a sound landlord by onedayinmygarden (Wed 11th Sep 2019 8:23pm)
  • Yeah was going to get bank statements/proof of rent payment - think the credit checks being completed may help my insurance. Avoiding agents since they appear to be a total con especially when all the 'one off' aspects are done. 300 quid to get a tenant then 10% of rent a month to call you when any work needs done... Very good by onedayinmygarden (Wed 11th Sep 2019 8:33pm)
  • I won't be too far away thankfully. When you say restrictions - what in particular would you look out for? As far as I'm aware to only requirement is that I have buildings insurance and since I have a factor this is already covered by onedayinmygarden (Wed 11th Sep 2019 8:43pm)

  • Don't let you advertise full flats... by onedayinmygarden (Wed 11th Sep 2019 8:53pm)
  • Horses for courses, Ive been through all the stuff on scotgov and fine with the legal/admin stuff. Wouldn't mind paying but since a tenant can now just give a month's notice you could potentially be forking that out again sooner rather than later. Will keep it in mind but. by onedayinmygarden (Wed 11th Sep 2019 9:38pm)
  • Good shout I'll check it out by onedayinmygarden (Thu 12th Sep 2019 9:35am)
  • Thanks for taking the time to post that - I suppose you are right that you just need to get as best a sense of the person as you can but after that it's just your luck. I'll probably make a point that a standing order needs to be set up and late payment as a matter of course isn't OK. I'll also make a point of asking for confirmation making sure the utilities are set up in their name so if they decide they don't want to pay its not going to end up hitting me. by onedayinmygarden (Thu 12th Sep 2019 6:45pm)

  • Sure if it makes you feel better. Kinda like giving up smoking after being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer much like Johnny Sack. He was still running things for a while but clearly miserable so eventually just said fuck it and started smoking again. Jinny, his wife didn't much like it but I guess he thought if I'm going out im doing it on my terms. Then Phil Leotardo took over who, in my opinion, was a proper boss, despite suffering the humiliation of having his family name changed into a comedy item of clothing, he was strong minded, decisive and took no shit. Always knew when he had the upper hand and used it to devastating effect. Don't get me wrong I liked Johnny Sack but he was soft when phils son got capped. Some people are best at being number 2 I guess. by onedayinmygarden (Fri 17th Jan 2020 11:36am)

  • Neighbours had folk over in their garden until 1am drinking on Thursday there and had the audacity to start clapping at 8 o'clock - so many selfish cunts out there by onedayinmygarden (Sun 31st May 2020 10:17am)
  • Maybe. Just disheartening that the one time that everyone is asked to think about others before their own selfish needs and so many can't even do that or bend the rules to suit their circumstances. by onedayinmygarden (Sun 31st May 2020 10:59am)

  • Was meant to be going to kraków on Sunday for a few days but latest restrictions have knocked that on the head. I know I know, that was the risk when booking but me and my girlfriend both work in the emergency services and have been knocking our pan in since the start of the year so this was our first break of more than a few days this year :( All in context though as I know so many people are struggling through all this mentally / financially but still, bit of a pisser!
