So by that logic, he'd have to have dropped a badboy from 1994 at some high school dance in 1991. I'm officially voting for Mr.Vain. Have at it : [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard\_Year-End\_Hot\_100\_singles\_of\_1994](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Year-End_Hot_100_singles_of_1994) by ride_on_time_again (Thu 23rd Sep 2021 5:21pm)

  • Any time I talk to anyone in the flesh and feel even remotely attracted to them, I end up feeling awful in all sorts of ways for weeks after with occasional trips to the valley of suicidal thoughts that can last for days at a time. I have no idea why this is but sometimes I just think it would be better for me to be a hermit with as little interaction with humans as possible. So I kind of relate i think. by ride_on_time_again (Wed 10th Nov 2021 5:13pm)

  • This is confusing for me. Are the SNP not generally considered to be pretty sound? I didn't do great at school, but I definitely got told about the Nazi's in Germany believing in racial purity and sending millions of folk off to concentration camps where they got brutally experimented on and cruelly executed and having a secret police force and public executions and the goose stepping and also the Sieg Heiling. I don't know which of these that Nicola Sturgeon has done. Also, I didn't know about the fish thing. I've never been to sea. One day I'd like to visit Largs though. by ride_on_time_again (Tue 8th Mar 2022 5:53pm)

  • Hey! I have autism as well (diagnosed last year) and have been slagged my whole life for finding public transport (unless lose to empty) super over stimulating and stressful. My friends are starting to look exhausted with how often i say 'Yes, that's an autistism related trait. Please stop slagging me about it.' though, as it seems to be very five minutes. by ride_on_time_again (Thu 31st Mar 2022 7:56am)
  • I am not quipped to explain why the way you are speaking/typing feels off to me, but I want to try and communicate the following the best i can. " To be fair to train companies, if people are taking more than one seat it is hardly their fault, they can't reasonably sell tickets on the assumption that people will take multiple seats." This feels like before-times chat and can't be applied to the current pandemic. "If the train is crowded and they want to sit in the seat next to you they are absolutely entitled to do so and you have ZERO say in the matter." This feels like a very harsh way to respond to someone who is trying to communicate that they are autistic and spend their entire time on public transport trying not to have a panic attack. Have you seen an autistic person have a melt down or panic attack? It's incredibly unpleasant for the person who is experiencing it and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It feels like you are telling the above poster to STFU and GTFO. I don't know if this is what you really mean but, it isn't very nice and displays either a lack of understanding or an unwillingness to see things from a neurodivergent point of view. A change needs to happen in order to move forward. by ride_on_time_again (Thu 31st Mar 2022 8:13am)

  • I've been denied PIP once, but I got told that if I'm successful next time (as 70% of people who re-apply are!) then I can get some sort of public transport discount? It won't stop me from being freaked out by public transport. About the only place I got is between 90 mins and 2 hours walk from my house though, so if i can't use public transport that day then I end up soaked in sweat and exhausted by the time i get to anywhere i want to be. Ablism is rife and it doesn't make anyone have an easier experience. I don't understand why people have to be so harsh. by ride_on_time_again (Tue 5th Apr 2022 1:37am)

  • Guitar & pedal board & amplifier alone would require a black back there and back. Using myself as an example, it would cost me 20 quid to get from mount florida to cottiers. Then it'll be 20 back. Drummer would need to do the same. Do that's 80 quid in costs already. Bassist, other guitarist etc, that's 160 in transport just for a 4 piece band, unless of course they live closer to cottiers (what full time musician could remotely afford that area tho?) and also don't get get the cost of a p.a system which could be 300/350 even for a small one. Phrasing it as 'look at it as a free practice' isn't appealing either. Practice rooms supply amps, kits, p.a system etc. They cost 20-30 for three hours. And you generally rehearse songs multiple times. Can't do that at a gig. So it's far from a free rehearsal, it's actually a very expensive hassle. by ride_on_time_again (Thu 2nd Nov 2023 6:40am)

  • The people who drive cultural movements aren't lawyers and surgeons and landlords. They are the people organising accessible events and doing the footwork to promote those events. Once you price them out of an area, that results in a lack of that culture they created. by ride_on_time_again (Tue 14th Nov 2023 8:47pm)
  • The alternative is rent caps. Myself and most people I know have been thrown around from Maryhill road to West princess street to Finnieston to York Hill to Denistoun to Govan Hill to fucking *cessnock* and some have had to move to paisley. • I know people in shawlands paying 1500+, but those are 3 and 4 bedrooms. Meanwhile, their neighbors are playing 500 a month because they got awarded mortgages. Same flats, but at least a grand cheaper per month. I'm not sure what times we're living in, but it feels like there is a financial war on people. A competition by the rich to see which person working full time, unable to afford a social life or any luxury items finally just... *cracks* and takes to the streets in a homemade killdozer. by ride_on_time_again (Mon 20th Nov 2023 11:42am)

  • I remember reading that blog post about a month after having an interaction with him. Seemed like a friendly guy, but he probably went the same ways as a lot of Glasgow characters. That is to say, he got medicated, stopped going out so much and dressing up quite the same and then likely got relocated by the housing association. • You had me until 'tight bastard'. If I'm buying a thing that's advertised at 4 quid (which is at least a pound more than it should be) then why is there an unwritten social rule that I've to then put an extra pound down because the person handing me that product is getting fucked over by their employer? If the service is great then the reward is a returning customer, not additional cash out of my pockets. by ride_on_time_again (Sat 25th Nov 2023 2:15pm)
  • 'tipping is a cultural norm' - yes it is, in *America*, a country famous around the planet for being an example of what not to do in about 99% of their actions. They also famously don't actually pay their service staff so that's why tipping is forced upon the customer. But now most days they fly or wear it, it's just part of who they are and they barely think about how it marks them as total arseholes. But most importantly is that 99% of the people they interact with feel the same. That enables it, and it becomes normalised. by ride_on_time_again (Tue 28th Nov 2023 10:48am)

Which is a funny thing for a 24 hour supermarket to do, but everything changes (but you) as Take That used to sing. 2nd best thing : depending on where you live, you are either 2 minutes or twenty minutes from the west end, which has restaurants and pubs etc by ride_on_time_again (Fri 1st Dec 2023 10:09am)
