  • Toplabumba- fantastic food, amazing staff, genuine mexican food, great cocktails and they also have a great lunch menu! by salsiicha (Thu 26th Aug 2021 2:21am)
  • You're so right about the middleaged gigglers! One threatened me on the subway whilst I was in my work uniform just because I looked at them funny because they were drunkenly devouring a Gregg's at 4pm on a thursday. by salsiicha (Mon 6th Sep 2021 9:56am)
  • Toplabumba has the best nachos ive had. I believe they're at least cooked in house by salsiicha (Wed 8th Sep 2021 10:09am)
  • Thanks! I don't mind heights so much. A gig at the SEC confirmed that for me 😅 but nice tip about aiming for the front of each section. by salsiicha (Tue 12th Oct 2021 9:27pm)

  • Both tigers in town have a range of stuff! by salsiicha (Wed 27th Oct 2021 5:41pm)
  • I'm afraid that offering 10% over the home report for the southside won't hack it. Being in your position 2 years ago, we had to go 18% over after bidding way less than others. We were lucky though in the end I think. Maybe consider looking further out? There are other beautiful places this side of the river, that are more affordable and still have decent travel links. by salsiicha (Wed 3rd Nov 2021 6:22am)
  • I third chakoo! I had the best peshwari naan I've ever had and their cocktails are delicious by salsiicha (Fri 12th Nov 2021 4:10pm)

  • I think absurd bird do too, at least for delivery! by salsiicha (Thu 13th Jan 2022 7:44pm)
  • Learn how to pronounce Glasgow properly. Learn some UK geography if you don't know already. Otherwise, have fun! Glasgow is a very welcoming city. by salsiicha (Fri 28th Jan 2022 10:06pm)
  • I've been an NHS patient with G1 dental and they're absolutely amazing in there. They actually care about you and its nice and clean but not so clinical like other dentist offices. I paid £70 privately for a scale and polish - it was absolutely worth the money. The amount of time and thought they gave me as an NHS patient. I couldn't imagine how much better they could possibly be when doing private procedures. by salsiicha (Sun 30th Jan 2022 11:47pm)
  • It'll be tough but I'd LOVE to see this take shape. I'm no pro crafter but like my fair share. I used to visit mandors regularly for fabrics ~ I'm at art school ~ but even in the past 6 years I've noticed they're lacking. The only other shop I can think of which is maybe what you're wanting to create is the Stitch B*tch in Mount Florida - but as far as I'm aware, they don't do fabrics and I've found that shop too full of stuff and overwhelming. by salsiicha (Fri 11th Feb 2022 8:09pm)
  • There's one place in the Barras that does old school tools - hammers, saws, stakes etc. The guy is always there, sharpening knives. It's the part opposite the cafe with the outdoors bit. (I don't know how else to describe it!) Give it a visit! by salsiicha (Sun 13th Feb 2022 1:50pm)
  • Yes, this place. :) by salsiicha (Sun 13th Feb 2022 7:21pm)
  • If you live and breathe fashion then GSA is a good choice. However, what they are looking for is concept fashion. They want you to know why you chose a specific fabric, why you chose a cut, you need to be able to create in-depth meanings behind your designs. This is what GSA wants all around since it is an art degree after all. Yes, you could write an essay on fast fashion and why it's bad, but they're much more interested in how a dress represents social disobey or whatever. Gsa have fantastic support for their fashion students and I do agree with others- get a ticket to the fashion show. Hope this is of some sort of help - from a 4th year GSA student (in the same building as fashion) with friends in fashion & textiles. by salsiicha (Mon 28th Feb 2022 8:14am)
  • Download olio for free stuff locally & too good to go for discounted food! by salsiicha (Tue 8th Mar 2022 9:05pm)
  • 😅 by salsiicha (Wed 9th Mar 2022 6:51am)
  • Also on Victoria Road there's Pink Famingo. They have a little free food hut outside that local cafes regularly contribute to. Inside its a party what you can cafe - so you can get a hot meal for however much you can spare. Also Destiny's church now has a shop sort of food bank. It's £5 for a years membership, but from there it's £3 per shop (for £25) worth of items. If you can't afford that, people also donate to the shop, and so if there's a post-it note on the pay it forward board, you can redeem that for a shop. Much hugs. You've got this and are not alone. by salsiicha (Fri 11th Mar 2022 5:31am)
  • Those three resturants are all owned by the same person. And I think they're also my three favourites! by salsiicha (Tue 19th Apr 2022 10:27pm)
  • I would not reccomend doing this. I know someone who worked for Home Fundraising - 14h days in the middle of a cold winter - if you didn't get sign ups, you'll get £35 a day. If you get a sign up and the person cancels within 6 months, you don't get paid for the sign ups. You have to show up to the office hours before you start getting paid. Sometimes you have to take a train [and pay for it] after commuting to the office to go to a neighbourhood. Often, you're dropped of in low income neighbourhoods which understandably, have people that don't want to give you the time of day. It's a really tough gig - I know super charismatic people who did terribly at this job. also, it tends not to be cash in hand since that's dodgy if you're working for charities. However, It will fill a gap in your CV by salsiicha (Sat 23rd Apr 2022 6:05pm)
  • I really feel where you're coming from. I'm sick and tired of people stealing others cultures, arts etc. And not doing my anything to benefit that culture - just doing it to look cool and make money. I'm horrified and embarrased - he didn't just stick to insulting one culture, but many. Having a mix of idols, patterns, visual arts just proves this person has absolutely no clue about what these things actually mean. It sounds as if he's not even making an artistic statement- but that he's just insensitive to cultures and enjoys making money. by salsiicha (Fri 10th Jun 2022 2:08pm)
  • I'm also looking out for one. A djembe group would be perfect! by salsiicha (Fri 10th Jun 2022 3:49pm)
  • I don't see how this is relevant. I'm talking about a guy who profits of someone else's cultures, disrespects them then tries to cover up it with a crappy rebrand. by salsiicha (Sat 11th Jun 2022 11:53am)
  • Because he's making profit of of a range of different cultures. White washing them, and attempting to rebrand when he gets backlash. He's not educated on these cultures. He doesn't respect these cultures and that's why I'm upset too. by salsiicha (Sat 11th Jun 2022 11:51am)
  • I found British heart foundation also do deliveries at a really decent price too! Bought sofas, washing machine, fridge-freezer and I remember delivery to the first floor was under £30! by salsiicha (Tue 12th Jul 2022 1:02pm)
  • Little elm (insta) at low key tattoo. Incredible work. Beautiful space to be tattooed by salsiicha (Mon 18th Jul 2022 1:12am)
  • Really good tips! From someone who has sub-let, I agree with everything you have said. by salsiicha (Sun 24th Jul 2022 12:09am)
  • Sandyford sucks. It really does. I feel you there and its terrible you've been waiting so long. The only way I have gotten appointments for an implant, and then a deep implant removal both at sandyford was through my GP. They referred me, and I was given an appointment. If your GP is telling you to get an appointment yourself, just explain and be adamant that you've tried and that they are the last option. Good luck! by salsiicha (Sun 24th Jul 2022 12:20am)
  • It's not a waste of an appointment if you've tried everything else! This is your health! It's not to be taken lightly. by salsiicha (Sun 24th Jul 2022 12:25am)
  • For a spa I'd recommend the Ocho Spa. Really decently priced and a large range of treatments to choose from. Book in advance though! Or you could get her a gift card for there. by salsiicha (Tue 13th Dec 2022 10:59pm)
  • Bar soba too, but must reserve in advance and quote January deal by salsiicha (Thu 5th Jan 2023 12:55am)
  • Horticulture HND is Monday - Friday 9-5 with some exception days scattered here and there and some early finishes on Fridays usually. It depends on your course though. by salsiicha (Tue 7th Feb 2023 4:09pm)
  • I got mine from dreams. Its a click clack sofa bed. Really happy with it. Much more affordable then others I was interested in. Have had it for three years, use it every day and still is like new! by salsiicha (Sun 9th Apr 2023 5:38pm)
  • As an ex student, I really struggled when I was there. The only support given was for students with wealthy parents, or students whose families were well known in art. by salsiicha (Sun 11th Jun 2023 11:28am)
  • I've had so many of these. Ignored them all. They finally stopped. Never had someone come to my door (of my knowledge). They don't even know your name! If you open the door accidentally on a crazy chance that they're visiting, just say you're a guest and are in no position to speak on behalf of the owner. by salsiicha (Sun 6th Aug 2023 10:17am)
  • Cries in £22k by salsiicha (Sun 10th Sep 2023 2:26pm)
  • I hear you - I had the same experience moving up here. But now I can't stand London water! It is awful! Continue drinking the Scottish tap water and soon your tastes would change. Took me a year, but now when I visit South, I need to drink bottled water. by salsiicha (Sun 24th Sep 2023 5:58pm)
