I am making a wee Scottish scenery art book and planning to paint things from all of Scotland (including the highlands) - mostly places I've visited. Thanks for the kind words ~ I've mostly done 2D / comic work, but I have painted a few pieces for a US mobile game company, which was a lot of fun. Thank you so much! I love the Cintiq, so much easier than the Intuos I had was. Oof, I actually only use one brush (and like, two layers) 😅 so not sure what advice I could give - I use a kyle webster inking brush and then the smudge tool. It really helps looking at Japanese animation and the way they stylise clouds and make them look nice. I pull up a bunch of animation and photo refs and then just play around by eye. 🙂 Acrylic painting also really helped me - It's not easy to make things blend and look soft with acrylics, so if you can do that, then the transition to digital actually simplifies things. Thank you, I actually just looked at yours too and really like your style as well! I can see the traditional background and interesting mark-making :) Do you have an Instagram? Kyle Webster has the best brushes, they are all so good! I really recommend his brush packs. The smudge tool can slow down your computer a lot unfortunately, I had to upgrade mine for it to work - if you use small brush sizes you may just get away with it. Thank you so much! By the way - seen your art on your page - really amazing work! You have a lot of patience. Most of the time I sketch & ink traditionally, scan and then colour digitally :) Now that I have a Cintiq I do lineart directly occasionally too, which I did for this one. Have you seen those amazing new sketchbooks that link to the computer? They have sensors of some kind, so you draw on the real paper but as you do it the computer also tracks and transfers it to a digital file. You are most welcome :) Yes, always new things being made haha! Ah, I see... that does make scanning harder, large scale scanners can get expensive... I used to draw in 4 x A4 sheet sections (just to fit my scanner) and then awkwardly piece things together digitally, but it isn't ideal. Wow, thank you so much! Very kind of you. Oh, I absolutely, I believe anyone can do it or get to a high technical level. It just takes years of practice - but everyone starts somewhere. I drew wobbly sun and house drawings like everyone else back in nursery, but was just always interested in art and would spend every free moment drawing. 🙂 You may have an inherent eye for composition / subject matter but technically it is just practice and muscle memory. Oh, I don't deny that I still have a lot to learn! 😅 Not surprised the lines are wobbly - It's more of a doodle by-eye and I didn't measure anything or use perspective lines which could have made it more accurate. I would say Photobox is an online printing service and I think they are very flexible if I remember their website TOS. Friend of mine printed a sexy calendar for her boyfriend and I helped her format it as I have a graphic design background and that was the place she ended up using 👍 love the sexy Bulbasaur idea 😂 Kinda wanna see it by sarajdraws (Tue 14th Mar 2023 5:40pm)
