  • I posted this because I had exactly the same symptoms, at the same time, and my fiancée had it too. At one point I thought I was dying. The other half put her symptoms into the NHS Inform website and it said to call an ambulance because of a suspected heart attack. We obviously didn’t call an ambulance at the time because it was the flu. Anyone else have the same experience? by sparky1499 (Tue 10th Mar 2020 6:05pm)
  • Once you get something like that you wait a while and by the time you realise it’s not shifting, or something more serious, you make a doctors appointment. Two weeks later your appointment is the following day and your symptoms have abated. I suppose we don’t want to be taking antibiotics etc. for fear of reducing their efficacy through repeated use, but by then our bodies have beaten the bug/virus and we’ve developed an immune response to it. by sparky1499 (Tue 10th Mar 2020 6:16pm)
  • Thanks for the excellent explanation. I wasn’t aware that there was an S and L strain. So you could (more than likely) very well be right. However, for the common man, the current .Gov website, updated daily, mentions nothing about different strains of COVID-19. This was just a casual observation that my S.O. and I made today and we wondering if anyone had had a similar experience. I’d hate to think I had passed on, whatever strain I could have had, to someone with a worse immune system than mine. by sparky1499 (Tue 10th Mar 2020 6:28pm)

  • I’m grateful, and I’m sure the rest of r/Glasgow are too (including my S.O.’s brother who is nurse). It’s not the fact that it was missed (our experience is from late December/early January) but the fact that our symptoms were similar and found it odd that ‘normal’ ‘flu symptoms weren’t quite right for how we were feeling at that time. In no way are my SO and I dismissing any advice/information we have received but was it merely a coincidence? *no tinfoil hat on. by sparky1499 (Tue 10th Mar 2020 6:56pm)
