  • I work in the Argyle St area and once was walking behind a woman who stopped and said to a homeless person, out loud with no subtlety, “want drugs?” Like, when did they start to just offer drugs in plain sight and not even try to cover it up?! by teuchterK (Sun 22nd Nov 2020 12:56am)
  • This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but as a big pizza lover, Paesano is massively overrated. The bases are always floppy in the middle. Definitely try it, but I’ve been disappointed every time I’ve been. by teuchterK (Sat 13th Feb 2021 4:36pm)
  • Where is Baffo? Also, can I sit in? by teuchterK (Sat 13th Feb 2021 5:48pm)
  • Yass! Straight to the top of the list once lockdown is over. by teuchterK (Sat 13th Feb 2021 5:53pm)
  • Used to love getting these through the door when I lived in the west end! So random. by teuchterK (Tue 16th Mar 2021 8:41pm)
  • My old block in Partick did alllllllll the time. Furniture, random crap, you name it - it lay out there for months at a time. The people who put it out didn’t even notify the council it was there for pick up. I had to do that when I called to check when it’d be picked up 3 months after it had been lying already. Drove me to distraction (and to move to a house). by teuchterK (Mon 29th Mar 2021 8:51pm)

  • Forgot to mention not applauding the plane for landing... by teuchterK (Sun 25th Apr 2021 7:10pm)
  • I am from up north. Get slagged for properly pronouncing 7 and 11 - with Es instead of Is! Been with my partner over 7 years and he still takes the p*** at least once every week!! by teuchterK (Tue 11th May 2021 10:57am)
  • I did used to say therty but have trained myself out of that and pronounce it thirty now! by teuchterK (Tue 11th May 2021 4:49pm)
  • Here’s hoping I’m still working from home come November! by teuchterK (Thu 27th May 2021 4:17pm)
  • I know this pic does not do it any justice, but seriously. I have NEVER seen the moon so orange before!!! It’s just incredible. by teuchterK (Sun 30th May 2021 2:46am)
  • Colleagues were up from work a couple of years ago and wanted to watch an England match. The best suggestion was watching in a Rangers friendly pub - The Auctioneers in town was a good shout. But as lots of other people are saying, as long as you don’t start anything you’ll be grand. Hope you have a good night. Viva Italia! by teuchterK (Sat 10th Jul 2021 12:05am)
  • I believe the council have a noise disturbance team. You could try getting in touch with them. They might even be able to come out and measure noise levels and help you take action against them. by teuchterK (Thu 29th Jul 2021 12:21pm)
  • Just drove along GWR toward Anniesland and spotted tons of smoke, just didn’t know where from. Knew the good Redditors of Glasgow would be all over this! by teuchterK (Wed 4th Aug 2021 6:44pm)
  • Mother India’s Cafe. Indian food, but tapas style. The food is amazing. Always my first choice for a sit down Indian, followed closely by actual Mother India. by teuchterK (Wed 22nd Sep 2021 12:13pm)
  • We had one (west Dunbartonshire) last Christmas time. My husband returned the form and asked them to send out literature in German and make a visit to his pal 😂 by teuchterK (Mon 11th Oct 2021 10:17pm)
  • Yes! Was going to suggest this guy. He’s all over insta and they do amazing jobs. by teuchterK (Wed 13th Oct 2021 10:00am)
  • Waxing By Debbie (aka The Wax Institute) in Partick. She is amazing and literally award winning. I’ve gone to her for years (I’m female but she does guys too). 100% recommend. https://www.fresha.com/providers/waxing-by-debbie-ox85mgrq by teuchterK (Sat 30th Oct 2021 1:21pm)
  • Lol! Although your suggestion is hilarious (and she does teach in colleges as well - so sometimes there’s an audience!), she won several awards through client nominations. Her clients LOVE her. by teuchterK (Sat 30th Oct 2021 4:46pm)
  • I second your comments on Paesano. They’re not even that good (IMO) - floppy middles. No thanks. by teuchterK (Fri 12th Nov 2021 3:47pm)
  • Personally, my preference is the west end (Partick / Broomhill / Kelvinside). But Dennistoun might be a good shout for you too. by teuchterK (Mon 15th Nov 2021 12:05pm)
  • OP, maybe phone your factor to see if they can inspect outside of the building for potential entries and block them up. by teuchterK (Sat 20th Nov 2021 11:41am)
  • Depending on the company you work for they might have an employee assistance programme. You can call them up (anonymously) and be referred for counselling. To be clear, this is separate to the NHS and based on your company’s benefits. by teuchterK (Sun 28th Nov 2021 2:17pm)
  • Look up GX Fitness on insta. Kenny is fab! He has a gym at Morris Business Centre I think? He does PT but classes too and you get to know the other clients, and in my view, makes you more accountable and likely to show up! by teuchterK (Wed 8th Dec 2021 5:56pm)
  • They’re super expensive (at least the one that comes to my street is!) but see when you just fancy an ice cream while working from home in the summer time… they’re so convenient! I’ve also seen the van selling tea bags and pints of milk before too. Kids usually go out and get sweets too. by teuchterK (Mon 13th Dec 2021 2:31pm)
  • I second this place. They are brilliant and can do pretty much anything. Reasonable prices too. by teuchterK (Sat 1st Jan 2022 3:49pm)
  • Gina who works out of Fake It on Paisley Rd. Look her up on Insta @glasgownailaddict. by teuchterK (Sun 6th Feb 2022 2:43pm)
  • Lunch somewhere in Finnieston then a wander round Kelvingrove gallery or the park, down on one knee then back to Argyle St for celebratory drinks? by teuchterK (Thu 17th Feb 2022 7:37pm)
  • As a bonus - you could layer the cheese through the chips. by teuchterK (Tue 1st Mar 2022 12:44pm)
  • If you are considering the megabus, you might want to read this thread. Lots of lols! https://www.reddit.com/r/CasualUK/comments/spitj5/im_on_the_glasgowlondon_overnight_megabus_ama/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf by teuchterK (Mon 7th Mar 2022 11:57pm)
  • Ah, memories. I assume you live in the same close i did in Partick! Realistically, these people have no respect for their neighbours and it’s not likely to get any better. My advice is to move. by teuchterK (Sat 12th Mar 2022 2:15pm)
  • You can WhatsApp EDF! They might not reply straight away but will be same day. Good luck, hope you get sorted. by teuchterK (Wed 16th Mar 2022 11:30am)
  • It sounds like a dirty protest. It might not be that he’s stressed as such but it sounds like he’s demonstrating his disdain for some situation. Is your cat an indoor cat? by teuchterK (Wed 30th Mar 2022 2:13pm)
  • I wish I had this information a couple of years ago! Sadly my cat has now passed away but I would have sold my soul for access to a behaviourist like that. by teuchterK (Wed 30th Mar 2022 2:20pm)
  • Yep. We filled in the details and sent them to a pal’s house 🤣 by teuchterK (Fri 15th Apr 2022 9:17am)
  • The Peppermint Group on Bath St by teuchterK (Mon 18th Apr 2022 12:14pm)
  • Contact the Humanist Society Scotland, they’ll be able to give you good advice. Not all ceremonies need to be legal - especially after covid. by teuchterK (Fri 29th Apr 2022 1:48pm)
  • You could also look for a flat share on the likes of Gumtree - gives more options. by teuchterK (Tue 12th Jul 2022 12:25am)
  • That’s really shitty. I don’t think your average person would even know that such a thing exists! So whoever did that knew all about the car and just wanted to fuck with your pal. Shitebag behaviour. by teuchterK (Sun 31st Jul 2022 6:29pm)
  • I have those exact symptoms right now and it’s covid. I gave it a couple of days before testing in case I’ve just picked up a throat and ear infection (I’m prone to them) but tested today and it came up positive immediately. You might be beyond the point when you’re viral so tests wouldn’t show anything? by teuchterK (Tue 9th Aug 2022 6:45pm)
  • Would 100% recommend GX Fitness. Look them up on insta. Very welcoming and supportive gym. They do personal training (1 on 1 sessions) but also group PT and classes too. Massively supportive environment and it’s for people of any and every ability or confidence level. The gym itself is based in Morris Park just at Polmadie. by teuchterK (Thu 18th Aug 2022 2:03pm)
  • Yes, it’s Argyle St by teuchterK (Mon 5th Sep 2022 10:04pm)
  • If you like steak, Butchershop is a bit pricey but the food is good and you can’t really go far wrong with steak and sides. Should suit everyone nicely. by teuchterK (Sun 2nd Oct 2022 10:56pm)
  • It’s worth it. You can call them about anything - doesn’t have to be work related. I needed help with grief after my dad passed away and it took the weight off my shoulders. by teuchterK (Wed 12th Oct 2022 11:33am)
  • Your employer might have an Employee Assistance Programme - check employee handbook. If so, you can call a number and be referred for counselling. Your employer picks up the tab and won’t be told who is using the service (to the best of my knowledge). by teuchterK (Wed 12th Oct 2022 11:30am)
  • Contact your local MSP and get them to put a rocket up the arse of the landlord. by teuchterK (Sun 16th Oct 2022 11:16am)

  • Yes - second Chakoo! It’s lovely. by teuchterK (Sat 22nd Oct 2022 3:59pm)
  • The garage. Not 18 anymore. by teuchterK (Thu 3rd Nov 2022 5:32pm)
  • Montgomery’s cafe in the west end - just off Argyle St. It was a firm fav and was devastated when they closed! by teuchterK (Fri 4th Nov 2022 3:54pm)
  • Miller Street, Bothwell Street and Argyle Street by teuchterK (Sat 5th Nov 2022 12:39pm)
  • Thank you - that one was a guess!! by teuchterK (Sun 6th Nov 2022 4:29pm)
  • There are cheaper conveyancing options but a solicitor friend told me they are often dreadful, haven’t got a clue, and hold up the sale. Also £1300 seems to be about right. by teuchterK (Wed 9th Nov 2022 5:22pm)
  • British Heart Foundation on Dumbarton Road in Partick. Good big shop. Lots of stuff. by teuchterK (Thu 10th Nov 2022 10:13am)
  • Vroni’s wine bar is nice. It can be busy and a little noisy but it’s intimate, cosy and you can definitely have a conversation. by teuchterK (Sun 13th Nov 2022 4:16pm)
  • Will your company not order it on the company taxi account? by teuchterK (Mon 21st Nov 2022 6:12pm)
  • That’s pretty shitty. Defo just go the cheap option and get the bus. If they want to fly you from edin again, refuse. by teuchterK (Mon 21st Nov 2022 11:46pm)
  • A pack of dogs literally surrounded you and attacked you? That is a reportable offence. Call the police and maybe the council dog warden for some guidance. by teuchterK (Sat 26th Nov 2022 5:54pm)
  • Try Parcels2Go - they might be able to help by teuchterK (Thu 22nd Dec 2022 4:23pm)
  • Victoria Park in the west end too. As well as a bunch of smaller ones. by teuchterK (Mon 2nd Jan 2023 7:33pm)
  • I’m in a sort of similar position. You could maybe try your local pharmacy for advice. I know you want your GP to have a listen and understand why. But your pharmacist is the next best option if you need help to shift it. by teuchterK (Sat 14th Jan 2023 10:07am)
  • Hey, congrats on your engagement! If your budget is less than £200 then give ASOS a try. They have a whole budget bridal range and it’s really nice. I think you could also look at Lipsy in/on Next - they have a bridal range. And I might be making this one up but I thought I saw a bridal range on the Club L website? So - you could try on any of those and return if they don’t suit. But if you want to go into a store to try on I think you could probably try Oxfam or Barnardos in the west end. by teuchterK (Mon 30th Jan 2023 12:12am)
  • Could also approach Shelter Scotland for advice too. Your MSP will also be interested to hear of this. Nothing puts a rocket up factor’s arses quicker than an MSP getting involved. by teuchterK (Fri 3rd Mar 2023 6:36pm)
  • The Chip - best in summer. by teuchterK (Mon 20th Mar 2023 9:54am)
  • Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! Going to have to work our way through the list. by teuchterK (Sat 8th Apr 2023 1:02pm)
  • Call the SSPCA by teuchterK (Mon 10th Apr 2023 12:55pm)
  • Can recommend a robo-vac for your floors. [Here’s the one we have](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eufy-Upgraded-Super-Thin-Self-Charging-Medium-Pile/dp/B07DDDB34D) - it has rocked our world (yep, middle age is hitting hard). You can give it a daily schedule etc so it’s done each day, you just need to empty it once or twice a week. It immediately helps with implied cleanliness 😂 I appreciate not everyone can afford it, but if you’re looking at a cleaner then this is maybe worth investing in first. ETA: It also frees you up for the other tasks you don’t normally get to. by teuchterK (Mon 10th Apr 2023 3:51pm)
  • RSPB might help instead? by teuchterK (Tue 11th Apr 2023 2:55pm)
  • She might have used it for work purposes? Like, for adding to a presentation or if you’ve got a birthday coming up? by teuchterK (Thu 13th Apr 2023 1:01pm)
  • Can confirm. One woman was so paralytic before the gig started (inside the stadium) she’d spewed everywhere and was rolling about on her back, probably didn’t even know where she was. Her husband just left her there and went to enjoy the gig himself. I assume the woman got taken to the medics then chucked out. by teuchterK (Fri 14th Apr 2023 6:03pm)
  • Happy 40th! Hope you have a great day x by teuchterK (Sun 23rd Apr 2023 3:31pm)
  • Check if your employer has an Employee Assistance Programme. If so, you can call and either chat to someone or get referred for counselling. If you get private healthcare through work, this would also apply. I appreciate not all employers have these things in place but worth noting for those that do. by teuchterK (Mon 24th Apr 2023 9:40pm)
  • There’s a market on at the Regent Centre in Cumbernauld. Lots of interesting small businesses and their wares, friendly stall holders too! My friend is there so I’m giving it a plug 😂 by teuchterK (Sat 6th May 2023 2:08pm)
  • Was coming here to say the same! Likely a good bit less pricey than from kilt shops too. by teuchterK (Tue 9th May 2023 6:28pm)
  • If you’re really concerned that some serious damage was done, best call SSPCA (0300 099 9999) or RSPB (0141 331 0993). They should be able to check in on them. by teuchterK (Mon 15th May 2023 10:46pm)

  • Glad my scorched grass is getting a good drink! by teuchterK (Wed 21st Jun 2023 8:41am)
  • Hey OP, hope you’re on the mend and get home soon. Good post about the facilities at the Royal. It’s been in a state of falling down for decades so it’s disappointing they’ve not invested to prevent this type of thing from happening. It’s also shocking that a hospital ward in a first world country can be flooded by heavy rain?! It would be good to email the contents of your post to both your [MSP](https://www.parliament.scot/msps) and [MP](https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP). They need to take action - otherwise they’ll never know and never do anything about it. by teuchterK (Wed 21st Jun 2023 1:48pm)
  • The wait time for an NHS ENT consult is 9 months so I’d move forward with your private insurance or worst comes to worst - just pay out of pocket to get in quick and then try to claim it back on insurance. by teuchterK (Fri 11th Aug 2023 3:38pm)
  • Some people just don’t know when to keep their fucking mouths shut. Even if she thought it, it didn’t need verbalised. LOVE your reply about the lion. That is beautifully handled. Please don’t let one stupid, ignorant woman put you off from continuing to grow your confidence. by teuchterK (Mon 14th Aug 2023 12:21pm)
  • Get to Argos and pick up a fan. You’ll likely never need it again until next summer but can’t hurt to have it! by teuchterK (Sat 9th Sep 2023 10:30am)
  • I actually think it’s got worse recently. No idea why (although it seemed in time with schools going back). It’s not hard to be a courteous driver. by teuchterK (Sun 10th Sep 2023 12:38pm)
  • I live in that general direction and it’s unusual to see antisocial behaviour in the middle of the day. You’ll be fine. by teuchterK (Sun 19th Nov 2023 11:27pm)
