  • The cooking shop below papyrus on byres road (374 Byres Rd) usually has loads of Le Creuset stuff, but not sure if they do click and collect 🤞 by theCaptainNessie (Sun 27th Dec 2020 10:07pm)
  • Hi! I'm from Paris and been living in Glasgow for a few years. In my humble opinion, go to Paris for: food (omg I miss it), nightlife (so many clubs/bars, and they close later than in Glasgow), culture. But Paris is sometimes overwhelming big and I was personally tired of spending hours in the subway/metro. And Paris is not the safest for a woman, there is a lot of street catcalling/harassement (I actually feel a lot safer walking home in Glasgow) Choose Glasgow for: a smaller city that is easy to go around, locals are especially kind and welcoming, you're really close to jawdropping scottish landscapes and its easy to go on adventures from Glasgow. But yeah the weather is horrendous. Other note: if you want the French experience, there are better cities to live in than Paris : Nice, Lyon, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Annecy for instance :) Whatever your choice I trust you'll have a wonderful experience, the first experience living abroad is amazing 😊 by theCaptainNessie (Mon 4th Jan 2021 9:20am)
  • Yes you'll meet exchange students 😄 did my master in Sweden, made plenty of friends from university from day 1😄 mind that if you end up on ESSEC's Cergy campus you're quite far from Paris (>1h by public transport) but if you are on La Défense campus then perfect. La Défense is the business heart of Paris and very well connected. by theCaptainNessie (Mon 4th Jan 2021 9:44am)
  • ESSEC is one of the top French business school so it would not be a bad choice in any case :) I don't know Cergy, just keep in mind that you will probably not be living in Paris then :) by theCaptainNessie (Mon 4th Jan 2021 11:26am)
  • I have yet to be drunk enough to try it! Although I have to say deep fried mars bars are delicious 🤤 by theCaptainNessie (Mon 4th Jan 2021 4:55pm)
  • Hey, I signed up for a padi course in Glasgow last summer (when it looked like things were about to get better covid-wise...) I never got to the pool as they never re-opened and the instructors have no visibility when they will. So now I'm a bit stuck hoping I wont loose the 500£ or so that I already paid. Dont be a silly optimistic like me, wait to sign up ! 😅 by theCaptainNessie (Sat 6th Feb 2021 1:01pm)

  • The new employer will reimburse it, I just don't want to look like an idiot if I show up with an invoice way higher than usual. Out of principle as well. by theCaptainNessie (Wed 14th Apr 2021 10:35am)

  • Can recommend the LockedIn escape room: [https://escaperoomglasgow.com/](https://escaperoomglasgow.com/) I've had done a couple of escape rooms before and their rooms have really good puzzles and decorations. Did a special couple one (not sure available anymore) and the surgery one. The latter was really funny, escaped just in time, beware if you're a bit sensitive to creepy items. Also tried "Wonderland" from [https://www.catch22rooms.com/](https://www.catch22rooms.com/) but I would not recommend it. The room was pretty small, basic puzzles, we were 4 and go out in 15 minutes... by theCaptainNessie (Sun 9th May 2021 4:14pm)
