  • no no it’s not jammy, i know what jammy means. It’s gemy - pronounced like ‘get me’ without the T. So not ‘gem’ as in a mineral or somebody English saying ‘j’ word. by thecrink16 (Mon 23rd Aug 2021 8:20pm)
  • thank u! can finally prove its existence by thecrink16 (Mon 23rd Aug 2021 10:01pm)
  • not heard most of those used but I like playful language like that. I did know somebody who said ‘gemme’ in the way you mention and I remember slagging him sorry lol by thecrink16 (Tue 24th Aug 2021 2:48am)
  • not jammy lol. The way I’ve written this post sounds like I’m not Glaswegian but I am. by thecrink16 (Tue 24th Aug 2021 1:41pm)

  • The orks are out ! by thecrink16 (Sat 18th Sep 2021 4:46pm)
  • Arran, Bute and Millport not too far from Glasgow and are all great. Also there’s a nice place in Fife that is 30 mins from Edinburgh by train called Aberdour. The East Neuk is lovely too but less accessible via train. by thecrink16 (Tue 28th Sep 2021 1:05am)
  • I swim in Loch Dumbrock outside Milngavie quite a bit. Somebody mentioned Loch Lomond but you have to find the right spot up there as it can be a bit unsafe and not so accessible by car in certain spots. Dumbrock is very accessible, safe and close to Glasgow. There will be other swimmers there each morning too. by thecrink16 (Tue 28th Sep 2021 1:16am)
  • Yeah it’s actually mental the amount of teutchers who think Glasgow is just high rises and junkies. by thecrink16 (Fri 1st Oct 2021 4:39pm)
  • Try Scheherazade on Bank Street and I think they have some pretty good stuff. by thecrink16 (Sun 3rd Oct 2021 5:58am)
  • M8 acting hard on Reddit is pathetic. by thecrink16 (Sun 3rd Oct 2021 6:37pm)
  • M8 grow up. Who the fuck wants to live in a place that is dangerous? Do I miss the days when Glasgow had the worst knife crime in Europe, when boys were dropping down dead every hour of every day? Absolutely not. I’d much rather it be a “gay” city, full of “fannies” than the shithole you describe. by thecrink16 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 8:50am)
  • Why would you want to buy street art. Its so tacky. by thecrink16 (Sun 10th Oct 2021 4:44pm)
  • Hmm what clubs exactly are you able to get in past 2am in Edinburgh and apart from Hive Til Five which ones are open later than 3? I’ve tried a few times in Ed to get into clubs like Subway, Bongo past 2 and got rejected each time. In Glasgow, you can still probably get in to Nice and Sleazy at about quarter to 3. Edinburgh shuts at 3 am. by thecrink16 (Sun 17th Oct 2021 6:08pm)
  • Absolutely horrible. The person responsible deserves a life sentence. I can’t help feeling the root of stuff like this is cultural. The glorification of “neds” and anti-social behaviour in Scotland. More and more young people thinking it’s the way to be. by thecrink16 (Sun 17th Oct 2021 7:09pm)
  • Yeah it’s a long standing problem of this city. But I think it’s become less a consequence of class and poverty and more just “the culture”. I know younger members of my own family (from Hyndland) who think it’s the way to be. by thecrink16 (Sun 17th Oct 2021 11:43pm)
  • Expand the subway!! by thecrink16 (Wed 20th Oct 2021 8:06pm)

  • Reckon the trains will be affected? I’m going to London from central station on the 3rd, shitting it a bit. by thecrink16 (Thu 28th Oct 2021 9:49pm)
  • You must be from a very privileged and cruel place if you are so bothered by homeless people. by thecrink16 (Sun 31st Oct 2021 10:40pm)
  • Hard find a village that is neither conservative or complete dump in Scotland. But maybe Strathblane or Balfron? by thecrink16 (Wed 10th Nov 2021 8:49am)
  • Rab Ha's in Merchant City. Cozy pub with good food. by thecrink16 (Fri 26th Nov 2021 2:43pm)
  • Great, I just looked them up and they seem to specialise in wisdom teeth removal. Thanks for that. by thecrink16 (Wed 1st Dec 2021 6:44pm)
  • My right wisdom tooth is close to my jaw and nerves. So I don’t think he wants to risk anything. Cheers, I will have check that out. by thecrink16 (Wed 1st Dec 2021 6:42pm)
  • Yeah my right wisdom tooth (which is causing the pain) is next to the jaw and nerves so think that’s why he’s referred me. There is not extreme pain but just steady dull pain that has been going on for a year or so. I was actually referred in May but heard nothing since.. by thecrink16 (Wed 1st Dec 2021 6:46pm)
  • Ah what a mare. Cheers for the recommendation ! by thecrink16 (Wed 1st Dec 2021 6:59pm)

  • I’m no crying about it, I was just pointing out some snobbery. Behave yourself man, you are probably too old still be into insulting people online. by thecrink16 (Thu 2nd Dec 2021 8:55pm)
  • Can’t work out what’s more sad: insulting people for no reason because you are not a nice person or being an absolute cringelord by trying to sound like some “Glesga” hard man on Reddit 🤣. by thecrink16 (Thu 2nd Dec 2021 9:04pm)
  • Think it’s the place for you because they are tonnes of rude bastards over there.. by thecrink16 (Thu 2nd Dec 2021 10:17pm)
  • Ah that’s where you get the rudeness from then.. makes sense.. by thecrink16 (Thu 2nd Dec 2021 10:24pm)
  • just more in the city itself man by thecrink16 (Wed 25th May 2022 4:53pm)
  • Thanks all for the suggestions everybody n keep em coming! Btw I’m not looking for film wildlife especially, more just the landscape. Although a few deers or whatnot, might be cool. Particularly looking for spaces that are right next to busy urban areas but are, in relative terms, wild. by thecrink16 (Wed 25th May 2022 4:55pm)
  • Those are great suggestions, thank you! I used to play Ruchill Golf Course quite often and I do remember seeing a few deers and it did have the sort of urban/wild hybrid feel I'm looking for. So that's definitely going on the list. The canal area is also a good shout. I think Lynne Ramsay shot some of Ratcatcher down there and that's exactly the vibe I'm going for. In terms of the film, it's going to all be in Glasgow. But hopefully it will feel like an audio-visual study of the hidden landscapes within a modern city, rather than just being about Glasgow itself. It'll definitely be more an experimental, visual doc than an in-depth, factual one. by thecrink16 (Wed 25th May 2022 5:22pm)
  • Yeah true, I live in Partick and see it most days. But guess maybe when people from elsewhere see Glasgow, they see a sprawling concrete jungle when there’s actually a lot of nature and greenery. by thecrink16 (Wed 25th May 2022 7:25pm)
  • Yeah I think it’ll be posting to it to my YouTube (https://youtube.com/channel/UC6e0C-K5nkDcTXlD83JPZ8A). But we’ll see, maybe even some festivals if it’s good enough! by thecrink16 (Fri 27th May 2022 4:00pm)
  • Is it Buckingham Terrace surgery? Honestly they have the worst receptionist ever, so rude and really snobby sounding. by thecrink16 (Mon 30th Jan 2023 4:36pm)
  • Cheers aye, it’s old hairdressers ! by thecrink16 (Sat 3rd Jun 2023 10:54am)
  • wee bams. not big bams, they're usually alright. but the attitude of kids in glasgow these days is shocking, so many gobby wee cunts at train stations. by thecrink16 (Wed 27th Sep 2023 4:48pm)
  • if you're from motherwell, why are you worrying by thecrink16 (Wed 8th Nov 2023 3:04pm)
  • I wouldn’t say “individuality” is the problem. Actually, I think if young people in this country were more free thinking, less judgemental and consumed with what others thought of them, there would be much better behaviour. The whole “selfish” ethos of young people comes from a collective attitude, may it be from their mates at school, how the adults around them act or the internet. But it is not really “selfish” at all because it’s still about fitting in, seeming cool and hard, which will probably, sadly, lead to not getting the opportunities which they could have in life. Scotland in my experience is so consumed by a sort of paralysing fear of “difference”. Every kid dresses the same, gets the same haircut, talks the same. Adults are no different. So many people seem to end up in the same miserable place they grew up or in a job which they have next to zero interest in because they are scared of being different - scared of getting “too big” for their own boots. What does that create? Unhappy people with a plethora of frustrations who don’t know who they truly are. by thecrink16 (Fri 1st Dec 2023 3:02pm)
  • Not really that safe for cyclists compared to other European cities. Drivers have very little patience + awareness and bikes do get stolen a lot. by thecrink16 (Sat 9th Dec 2023 9:51pm)
