  • For what it is worth, as a law graduate who studied family law 10 years ago, the principle is "the welfare of the child is paramount". Courts won't want to separate the child from either parent totally, but will do so if there is evidence to support it. Images, financial evidence (payday loan, cash withdrawals, etc) will support your case towards showing she has an addiction. Best of luck OP I hope your strength and support over the last few years is recognised on the other side of this. by timahawk73 (Wed 8th Jan 2020 7:46am)
  • Don't forget Reflection. Sometimes you weren't in a position to do the best thing, but talking about where you could improve in the future shows maturity. by timahawk73 (Thu 9th Jan 2020 10:39pm)
  • There are also a lot of free mortgage advisors who take the commission from the mortgage provider as payment rather than charging you. If you take a life insurance policy with the property the advisor can get a double dose of commission so they don't have to pass on costs. I used London and Country, found through a comparison website (I forget which), to remortgage. Took a little longer than the face to face I used for the initial purchase, but they took only the commission as fees and saved me money overall. by timahawk73 (Mon 18th May 2020 1:04pm)
  • Sounds like the total fees including registration with Registers of Scotland. I bought my first property a few years back and it was just under £1k in lawyer costs all in for a £120k purchase price. by timahawk73 (Mon 18th May 2020 1:00pm)
  • Calling u/plastic-view-2048 did they do anything illegal? by timahawk73 (Tue 18th May 2021 5:06pm)
  • To be honest I don't think we want cheap, we want fair. CDHA were cheap (£35pm normally) and our close was cleaned badly, twice a month if we were lucky. They never gave us a breakdown of the costs of works and often we questioned how competitive their quotarion process was. What we don't want is Ross & Liddell like factors. Ones that charge £40 for management, send letters on paper that's so good it feels like something degrees are printed on, and cost over £120 pm by timahawk73 (Tue 18th May 2021 5:10pm)
  • We're all owners, one of the flats is privately let. CDHA have since told us, though not sure if it can be believed, they're ceasing factor services for all properties that they don't own. by timahawk73 (Tue 18th May 2021 10:20pm)
  • Can't take a brake, we need to kick these up a gear. by timahawk73 (Sat 14th Aug 2021 4:48pm)
  • Physical. I live southside, in case you're out this way. Otherwise happy to meet on the night by timahawk73 (Tue 6th Sep 2022 11:26pm)
  • My first ever grown up gig (not counting Bruce Springsteen with parents, aged 10 in London) was Alkaline Trio at the Barrowlands on the Crimson tour in 2005. After the gig, 17 year old me and 2 pals managed to get into the Cathouse to drink Morgans Spiced, aftershock and have very few memories after that! by timahawk73 (Sun 2nd Apr 2023 10:45am)
  • [Blue Arrow](https://www.bluearrowjazzclub.com/about) is jazz club. Haven't been so I can't speak to the non-alcoholic drink selection, but a friend who is a jazz musician plays there regularly so I can recommend the music. by timahawk73 (Sat 24th Jun 2023 12:37am)
