  • It’s shite! Surely with most of the economy opening up the trains should increase too? by wandergirl92 (Mon 13th Jul 2020 10:42am)
  • Yes true, would be good to have some kind of update from ScotRail re capacity. Even if they run trains an hour or 2 later on fri/day nights. Not sure I’m willing to wait for a taxi late at night with all the recent bother in the city centre by wandergirl92 (Mon 13th Jul 2020 4:05pm)

  • I heard yesterday that the glass bin is getting emptied every 60 days now. Raging by wandergirl92 (Thu 16th Jul 2020 7:52am)
  • It’s just the glass bin. They said it was due to ‘lack of demand’ so now my bin won’t be emptied until September!! by wandergirl92 (Thu 16th Jul 2020 7:57am)
  • Just moved as well so the bins still half full of glass bottles from the previous owners that I’ll need to look at for another 3 months by wandergirl92 (Thu 16th Jul 2020 8:04am)

  • Bier Halle is walk ins only! by wandergirl92 (Wed 22nd Jul 2020 2:55pm)
  • DELETED Pizza is really good! I just love it in there, going to go on Saturday I think. Good first date tip, go to Bier Halle and get your date to pick a random number from the menu without looking and get them that beer. Is that strange? Worked for me! by wandergirl92 (Wed 22nd Jul 2020 10:06pm)

  • Kings park is a lovely area, close to KP itself and linn park, quiet but still really connected to Cathcart and a short walk into shawlands and feels safe to walk around in. Kings park itself is full of play parks for kids and looks well tended to. Also good to have some local pubs nearby. All the neighbours in our street are lovely and gave us cards and flowers etc when we moved in. Loving it so far! by wandergirl92 (Sat 29th Aug 2020 10:35am)

  • I’m supposed to get married next Saturday, now February (maybe). It’s fucking horrible by wandergirl92 (Tue 1st Sep 2020 8:50pm)
  • Thank you, it’s really hard to make that decision but I’m not feeling confident for Feb. The fact my dad (my best pal) can’t walk me down the aisle like normal is really upsetting. Plus the fact everyone including the couple has to wear masks. You too, hopefully all is well for you too!! Least you know going through all this and still sticking together bodes well for your future together! by wandergirl92 (Tue 1st Sep 2020 10:22pm)
  • Well done!! I think at least 10% over seems to be the standard for most at the minute by wandergirl92 (Wed 2nd Sep 2020 7:34pm)

  • The FM said the other day that cases in Glasgow are falling but it seems that it’s barely talked about. Been in place since 2nd September with next review on 22nd (according to Sc Govt website) by wandergirl92 (Thu 17th Sep 2020 10:38am)
  • Everyone raging about the rule of six and I’m sitting here wanting it to be that instead. by wandergirl92 (Thu 17th Sep 2020 11:09am)
  • So shit when you’ve been honestly following the rules and people just don’t give a fuck. I’m going to the pub tonight with a friend and I’m well aware this might be one of the last weekends you can do that and I don’t know when I’ll be able to see her again. by wandergirl92 (Sat 19th Sep 2020 11:38am)
  • I love her, she has done so much and obv what replaces her will now be an extra conservative republican unfortunately. Also, I’m all for abortion rights but it’s not really our responsibility when we don’t live in America. Nothing to do with us and the uk is nowhere near what America is in regards to that. by wandergirl92 (Sat 19th Sep 2020 9:47pm)
  • Desperately hoping for no 5 mile travel limit by wandergirl92 (Tue 22nd Sep 2020 8:21am)
  • I have a lodge booked in October for 2 nights with my household only (self catered accommodation) and so unlikely to come into contact with anyone. Desperate to have one break away in this entire year. by wandergirl92 (Tue 22nd Sep 2020 10:35am)
  • Aye, a 5 mile limit would collapse the entire hospitality industry across Scotland for a longer period this time so I think they might make some allowances, especially if this needs to be 6 months minimum like the chief medical officer said the other day. I’m getting penalised for waiting for an itison hahaha should have went a month ago and paid full whack but can’t afford it by wandergirl92 (Tue 22nd Sep 2020 10:48am)
  • Sorry to hear of your loss, hope it all works out for you by wandergirl92 (Tue 22nd Sep 2020 12:30pm)

  • It would be nice to be able to actually display it instead of hiding it away. Thought it was really special at the time that he took the time to respond as an 84 (I think) year old man. by wandergirl92 (Wed 21st Oct 2020 12:27pm)

  • This time I honestly can’t wager a guess! I can predict trump clinging on for dear life and demanding a recount of postal votes. He may lose the popular vote again but still be re-elected for the second time. by wandergirl92 (Tue 3rd Nov 2020 7:32am)
  • Presumably this time tomorrow? Although such a huge amount of postal votes this time may mean it takes a few days by wandergirl92 (Tue 3rd Nov 2020 8:45am)

  • Absolutely brilliant, on someone’s comment below the Kirkland Prosecco is really nice. Worth the membership for buying from the fresh counters up the back. The queue always goes down quickly and since you don’t drive, they also email you every week with hot buys that can be delivered to you. by wandergirl92 (Mon 16th Nov 2020 9:54am)
  • What’s the rumour? by wandergirl92 (Mon 16th Nov 2020 9:51am)
  • Yeah should have guessed, I dunno how they justify this when there was also an article this weekend saying the R number is probrably now below 1 by wandergirl92 (Mon 16th Nov 2020 10:19am)
  • No Scotland, but I understand that Glasgow is still really high and think that we always will be based on population density. Article here: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/news.stv.tv/scotland/scotlands-virus-r-number-may-be-slightly-below-one%3ftop&amp by wandergirl92 (Mon 16th Nov 2020 10:37am)

  • Just go and see him and take the necessary precautions. This to me counts as extenuating circumstances and no one can get that time back. Time is too precious at the moment we have lost a lot of it already. by wandergirl92 (Tue 17th Nov 2020 4:07pm)
  • I wish you guys stocked Larios Rose Spanish Gin, I can see Puerto de Indias but have been looking for Larios everywhere. Is there any chance this will be stocked soon? Thanks! Can’t wait to visit again once you are open. by wandergirl92 (Fri 20th Nov 2020 1:38pm)

Been writing not at this address/return to sender and putting them back in the post box but does anyone have any suggestions how to stop this? Does my box in I don’t want a fucking bravissimo catalogue every week. by wandergirl92 (Fri 4th Dec 2020 4:29pm)

  • For me it’s like everything is totally normal and like it’s been working from home for only a week. None of the meetings in the last year have acknowledged that mentally this is really difficult to be alone at home everyday just working. Even a small acknowledgement of how hard it’s been would make me feel better! by wandergirl92 (Mon 11th Jan 2021 10:18am)
  • Also any offerings of furlough or reduction in working hours per week isn’t really aimed at someone with no kids as there’s no need/excuse to reduce your workload. Christmas break was good but mentally I am struggling a lot. by wandergirl92 (Mon 11th Jan 2021 12:39pm)

  • Yeah I think so too, and I don’t necessarily mind but I’m secretly jealous of everyone that’s had even a little bit of furlough. I keep having days where I look at the news a couple too many times and it just freaks me out by wandergirl92 (Mon 11th Jan 2021 4:37pm)
  • On a clear day with Peter Mullen & Brenda Blethyn was a great film about PM wanting to swim the channel after losing his job at the shipyards. It has some sad parts but overall the characters are really well thought out. Always loved that film. by wandergirl92 (Tue 12th Jan 2021 9:30am)

  • Also the fact that just like buying a brand new car at the garage, a new build that you buy won’t hold it’s same value (for a while) after you’ve purchased it. You pay a higher price straight off for something ‘sparkly and new’. Just my own opinion but I notice new builds are almost always far away from pubs/shops/train stations eg the new builds next to the m77/silverburn. by wandergirl92 (Mon 25th Jan 2021 8:47am)
  • I moved from elsewhere in Scotland to the southside and am frequently amazed at how everything I could possibly need is within a 15 min drive, including about 5 parks and that’s with a park, pubs, shops, supermarket and multiple train stations within easy walking distance also. by wandergirl92 (Mon 25th Jan 2021 9:23am)
  • Just saw 2 bed flats on Riverford Road starting at £195k... ooft. I think for the m77 one your other closest thing is the auldhouse retail park? by wandergirl92 (Mon 25th Jan 2021 9:21am)

  • I’ve tentatively booked one up north in august visiting a few different places. I’ve decided to chance it and book just now because everyone will be wanting a Scottish holiday after not being able to go anywhere in the last year. If not it will just get moved like everything else. by wandergirl92 (Tue 16th Feb 2021 9:15am)
  • Just depends whether we think the tourism industry can survive a loss of 2 summers. I’m pretty sure that we will be open like last summer (at least partially). Otherwise these places won’t survive and Sc Gov know that. by wandergirl92 (Tue 16th Feb 2021 11:01am)

  • Where did you see this information? Glasgow is going to be penalised way longer than the rest of the country it feels like. by wandergirl92 (Tue 2nd Mar 2021 10:17am)
  • Fuck sake man. Just read it. What’s the point of all the vaccines then if we are clearly going to end up staying in a level 3 until the autumn. The vaccines don’t stop transmission so therefore how will the rates stay under control long enough to get down to a level 2? by wandergirl92 (Tue 2nd Mar 2021 10:25am)
  • I might be wrong it’s just that in most news stories it says that while it dosent stop transmission it does reduce the chance that you will be seriously ill with COVID (ie require hospital treatment). The vaccines are amazing and are reducing hospital numbers dramatically which is what we want but just wondering if it’s better to base lockdown levels on a % who are seriously ill rather than cases overall now since we are a year into this. by wandergirl92 (Tue 2nd Mar 2021 11:08am)
  • Rest Assured mattresses are great. by wandergirl92 (Fri 5th Mar 2021 10:02am)

  • Bit sick of this world ending misery every day. Can’t wait to get back to seeing friends, going on holiday and day seshes. by wandergirl92 (Fri 5th Mar 2021 10:11am)
  • It’s not that they’re football fans, its nothing to do with who they support. It’s the callous disregard for all the progress we have made as country, the sacrifices everyone has had to make including being unable to attend family funerals, cancelling weddings multiple times and other major life events to protect people, but these clowns think that gathering in their thousands with no masks is currently acceptable to ‘celebrate’ a win for their team. We have had nearly 8,000 people die in Scotland since the start of this and clearly none of them at the weekend gave a fuck about anyone else and the chance this might make lockdown even longer. Even for Scotland it’s a new low, complete selfishness. by wandergirl92 (Tue 9th Mar 2021 8:41am)
  • Not saying that’s right either. The point is they shouldn’t have done it in the first place. I think the anger over putting everyone at risk is more important right now than a conversation over a superiority complex. It dosent matter who thinks they’re better than who atm, surely we all have a common goal first and foremost to get back to normal life as soon as we can. by wandergirl92 (Tue 9th Mar 2021 8:50am)
  • What a great movie. I took part in the Glasgow Film Festival virtually this year for the first and it was really good. Looking forward to going in person ASAP. by wandergirl92 (Sat 13th Mar 2021 6:06pm)

  • Chemical brothers headlining the Sunday night. Makes me want to buy a ticket but don’t think it will actually go ahead. On another note I have playground festival tickets for the end of July and I think they are holding on hard to make it happen this year. They are much smaller than TRNSMT so there might be a chance. by wandergirl92 (Fri 26th Mar 2021 11:40am)
  • Or watch it on BBC Scotland from my own living room with plenty of beer 😂😅 they are amazing live though that’s why I’m dithering. Everyone will be gutted Lewis Capaldi isn’t headlining. I don’t like his music but he seems a nice guy. by wandergirl92 (Fri 26th Mar 2021 12:00pm)
  • I moved up from North Ayrshire to the southside last summer, I’m in my mid 20s and can’t believe how much there is to see and do. The best thing is how close absolutely everything is, there’s always a new food place to try, bar to go to and so many great parks. Obviously it will be even better when life returns closer to normal but what have you got to lose? I commuted from there for work and was starting to be sick of £2k+ per year for the train. Now my day return is going to be less than £3 per day. If anything property values will also increase more in GCC than if you bought in NA. NA is one of only 2 or 3 council areas in Scotland that didn’t see an increase in property values in the last year. Might as well give it a go? by wandergirl92 (Sat 27th Mar 2021 5:40pm)

  • Thanks! I suppose it gives the option of putting it away easily. Any recommendation for a particular turbo trainer or will any one on Amazon do? My bike is currently still at my parents so will be a few weeks yet I’m afraid before I can retrieve it! Sounds great though! by wandergirl92 (Thu 8th Apr 2021 9:56am)

  • I quite like that it’s open 24/7 and it’s in a retail park so plenty of parking. Glasgow north has £5 for your first month but south is £19.99 per month. by wandergirl92 (Wed 14th Apr 2021 11:40am)
  • Mount Annan Drive? I’m sorry that’s shite. How do people even have that much spare money to throw away and not keep as equity. My neighbours daughter is looking for a house in the south side and they lost out on one last week that went £105k over. by wandergirl92 (Wed 14th Apr 2021 10:02pm)

  • It was busy but not too busy in any way if that makes sense. Plenty of room to social distance and the shops have tons of sales so I really enjoyed just wandering around. For a Tuesday night it was probly busier than it would normally have been. Keen to go back when the cinema opens again by wandergirl92 (Wed 28th Apr 2021 11:10am)

  • I got an email from skiddle saying the same as what they did and the usual ‘refund details will be issued in due course’. Bought as a birthday gift for my dads 60th so he could get to see Kraftwerk so I’ll be disappointed if they aren’t there. Also, I’m CONVINCED that playground is the same people that organised that summer session thing in Kelvingrove park with Earth Wind and Fire/Chic because at both events it was impossible to get food or drink. In KGP it was honestly a 2 hour wait for food or drink. Absolute shitshow. Playground in 2019 was mildly better but had to give up drinking anything by 7:30 as the queues for all the bars didn’t even move. by wandergirl92 (Fri 30th Apr 2021 9:10am)
  • Haha cheers I knew there was a connection. That west end fiesta was really bad. People took kids etc and then couldn’t feed them as security were saying they wouldn’t be let back in if they left to get food because the queues just wouldn’t move for hours. by wandergirl92 (Thu 6th May 2021 10:38am)

Have an excuse in your head if you want to bail out but I think once you’re there and sat down you will relax :) by wandergirl92 (Fri 4th Jun 2021 9:53am)
  • Swear to god I’ve spent just as much or more on takeaways and booze because it’s the only pleasure you could get in lockdown with everything shut. My kitchen now resembles a bar. I bought angostura bitters for fuck sake. by wandergirl92 (Fri 4th Jun 2021 11:27am)
  • Suppose part of the pleasure is getting dressed up and going out somewhere. I’ve got lots booked now things are open. We bought last February and moved in in July. Pretty certain there’s no way we could afford this place now if it was a few months later. by wandergirl92 (Fri 4th Jun 2021 11:36am)
  • Help what do you use it for hahaha by wandergirl92 (Fri 4th Jun 2021 4:30pm)

Wondering if I could just nip along and see if they will give me my second dose? Not sure why that’s an issue since it’s my appointment and the system just dosent know it’s there. by wandergirl92 (Wed 9th Jun 2021 8:59am)

  • Just finished a weeks holiday travelling all over Scotland. Sad to be done but it was amazing to visit places that have always been on my list. Aviemore, Loch Morlich, Jacobite steam train over Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe Lochan and many more. So nice to be able to travel again. by wandergirl92 (Sat 21st Aug 2021 7:45am)
  • The Jacobite steam train was stunning. Lovely way to spend an afternoon and the views were fantastic. It was more the hotels, loch fyne hotel was top class, even had a fire pit next to the loch. Stayed at lodge on Loch Lomond last night in an executive Munro room which has a balcony overlooking the loch. by wandergirl92 (Sat 21st Aug 2021 8:59pm)

  • I did it last month. You usually don’t start till 10am so you will have plenty of time for public transport. You also get lunch provided. by wandergirl92 (Sun 22nd Aug 2021 5:24pm)
  • It’s when they get raging at not being able to park their car because of all the other cars parked. We need to work on all hours supply of public transport (against the backdrop of ScotRail cutting 100s of services in the news this week). by wandergirl92 (Wed 25th Aug 2021 10:02am)
  • Also just been asking for is a later subway on a Sunday for decades. They need to sort this too. by wandergirl92 (Wed 25th Aug 2021 11:00am)
  • So bloody sick of ordering flooring, bathroom etc from a showroom and they pull out a piece of paper and a pencil then proceed to phone you weeks later asking what product codes were picked at the time. Driving me mad how can people run a business like this! by wandergirl92 (Wed 25th Aug 2021 12:14pm)

  • It’s £2 to pick someone up no matter how quick you are. There’s a wee area you can do that in. Everyone used to go into the holiday inn express car park but they have stopped that. It’s also not pedestrian friendly at all so quite difficult to get someone to walk to meet you. Sorry I’m not more help you might as well just pay and pick him up. by wandergirl92 (Sun 29th Aug 2021 10:55pm)
  • I’m going to riverside and not gonna lie I’m a bit worried. by wandergirl92 (Mon 30th Aug 2021 8:57pm)
  • Anyone else going to Riverside at the weekend? Seems like there’s no need to show a negative test to enter, just a ‘suggestion to take a test’ I am double jabbed but a little bit nervous since finding this out. I have provided negative tests for other events recently and it was no hassle at all. Seems a bit strange given it will be a few thousand people. by wandergirl92 (Tue 31st Aug 2021 10:11am)
  • I also think TRNSMT needs proof of negative test which is an even bigger event. by wandergirl92 (Tue 31st Aug 2021 10:47am)
  • I don’t know. I’m maybe planning to go later in the day than normal but it won’t be the same dancing in a crowd if people keep getting far too close. They say you should wear a mask in the queue for the bar, food stalls, toilets etc but not elsewhere as it’s an outdoor event. Set times and stalls to be released sometime this week. by wandergirl92 (Tue 31st Aug 2021 10:46am)
  • I get your point but I also realise we need to start getting back to normal. I’m still gonna be in with the crowd but I’ll notice proximity a lot more than I had before haha. by wandergirl92 (Tue 31st Aug 2021 11:14am)
  • I’m sure after a few drinks I’ll relax a bit haha. Disclosure was too good to pass up! by wandergirl92 (Tue 31st Aug 2021 11:31am)
  • Yeah because we can definitely trust the wider public 😂 by wandergirl92 (Tue 31st Aug 2021 1:30pm)
  • Yeah you do the normal test then take a picture and submit to the nhs which will then text you that you are negative. It’s the text they want instead of bringing the PCR strip along with you. by wandergirl92 (Tue 31st Aug 2021 5:54pm)
  • Less than a week? by wandergirl92 (Thu 2nd Sep 2021 7:20am)

  • I actually can’t praise the organisers enough they have always organised it so well, never need to wait that long for anything. by wandergirl92 (Sun 5th Sep 2021 2:16pm)
  • I don’t mind them but they don’t particularly stop Covid being transmitted as I thought the vaccine dosent effect that? I’d rather the requirement of a negative test for big events or gigs. by wandergirl92 (Wed 8th Sep 2021 2:24pm)
  • Fuckin hope so. by wandergirl92 (Fri 10th Sep 2021 7:13am)
  • Anyone got a phone number for King Tuts? Might need to pick my wee cousin up after the KSI gig at 10:30pm tonight and want to know when it will finish. Have a feeling there will be zero taxis after TRNSMT. Edit: if anyone has a taxi number other than Glasgow taxis that would be appreciated too. by wandergirl92 (Fri 10th Sep 2021 8:45am)
  • Thanks! I’ve done that there by wandergirl92 (Fri 10th Sep 2021 11:25am)
  • I was there and did tests all week but all negative. Riverside was fantastic! 😍 by wandergirl92 (Sun 12th Sep 2021 8:57am)
  • Sorry to hear that. How did they get in? by wandergirl92 (Sun 12th Sep 2021 3:39pm)
  • That was so good, I second this! Great insight into how they made their decisions, plus interviews with George W Bush, Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice etc. by wandergirl92 (Sun 12th Sep 2021 3:38pm)
  • Anyone go to TRNSMT at the weekend? How was it? by wandergirl92 (Mon 13th Sep 2021 9:43am)
  • The no trains on sundays is really annoying. I can’t believe a resolution still hasn’t been reached. The longer this goes on the more likely we are to have permanent no service on a Sunday or early finish like the subway. by wandergirl92 (Wed 15th Sep 2021 9:29am)
  • It’s nothing to do with supporting the strikes or not as I don’t know enough about it, but of course I support fair working conditions for all. It is bad because it’s a) gone on so long and b) for one of the UKs biggest cities to be held up for this long is ridiculous by wandergirl92 (Wed 15th Sep 2021 1:32pm)
  • I get mine from barbecue palace, pretty good! by wandergirl92 (Wed 15th Sep 2021 10:38pm)

  • Stay away from m8 westbound at all costs- gridlocked traffic stretching from the airport all the way to braehead. People will be stuck for hours. by wandergirl92 (Sun 19th Sep 2021 4:35pm)
  • Tragic, the queue was so bad I thought something must be seriously wrong. by wandergirl92 (Sun 19th Sep 2021 6:42pm)
  • Have you seen the map of the metro? Looks like it’s following existing train lines so therefore they must be planning to get rid of the trains 😂 by wandergirl92 (Thu 23rd Sep 2021 7:31pm)
  • Bit of a random Q but does anyone know any pubs around Queen’s Park that might have live music or DJ tonight? by wandergirl92 (Fri 24th Sep 2021 4:47pm)
  • I went to it in 2019 having gotten a ticket via itison at the last minute and I stopped drinking by 7:30 because it took SO long to get a drink. Was almost an hour in the queue no matter what bar you went to. Nightmare! by wandergirl92 (Sat 25th Sep 2021 1:04pm)
  • Please tell me if it’s the same promoters as that festival in kelvin grove park in 2019? The one with earth wind and fire /sister sledge/ chic etc. That was a total shambles as well with 2 hour waits for any food or drinks. On another note how do we know what promoter does what festival before booking? by wandergirl92 (Wed 29th Sep 2021 10:08am)
  • My productivity is 0 at the minute as so burnt out. by wandergirl92 (Wed 29th Sep 2021 10:10am)

  • It was still closed tonight at 7pm if that helps any. by wandergirl92 (Sun 3rd Oct 2021 10:40pm)
  • I went here and can confirm they were good, it was about £120 for 8 camcorder tapes (no editing) Might be worth picking the best ones if you have 60 tapes! by wandergirl92 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 10:08am)
  • I need a new license due to a name change and I’m scared to send it in cause it will be stuck there for months! by wandergirl92 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 6:50pm)

  • Probrably why it shut down 😂 by wandergirl92 (Wed 13th Oct 2021 10:33am)
  • Yes but the applicant would need to spend a lot of money/hassle for the process and most probrably wouldn’t bother until they are caught. Think it might also depend on the area- obv more likely to get planning permission for an air bnb in the city centre/merchant city than elsewhere by wandergirl92 (Thu 14th Oct 2021 7:28am)
  • Can someone please help me know where to find the disposable filters that go inside fabric face masks. I got some nice ones from a Oliver Bonas but even boots don’t know what I’m talking about! by wandergirl92 (Thu 14th Oct 2021 9:48am)

  • I went during the summer and the blonde woman (if that’s who you are talking about) was so rude. We were literally sitting outside on the picnic bench next to the ‘outdoor tv’ and when it started raining she refused to move that umbrella over cause it protected the TV then wouldn’t give us a Brolly off of an empty table to literally keep us dry. Really put me off just total bad attitude by wandergirl92 (Sun 24th Oct 2021 8:24am)
  • Heard the train strikes are now confirmed. Do we know any details eg limited service or is it blanket no trains in Scotland for 2 weeks? by wandergirl92 (Sun 24th Oct 2021 10:36am)

  • I think the official line is that you should have it installed by a gas engineer but there will be videos on YouTube to install yourself. Our boiler broke last summer and so just got the gas engineer to fit the hive while he was doing the new boiler. They go a step further and provide valves to control certain radiators for your phone but if not sure they’re worth the money when you can just turn radiators down. by wandergirl92 (Wed 17th Nov 2021 9:54am)

Three cancelled weddings and three cancelled house move with a buyer pulling out in the chain was unbelievably stressful. Beyond just logistics the emotional rollercoaster of waiting on Scot Gov announcements daily for 18+ months to be able to do normal things that everyone else pre pandemic was able to do. • Damage from vaping is definately a growing area of research. A huge amount of the vapes being sold in the UK don’t meet license standards for what’s in them i.E. those that are being found to have way more nicotine in them than they should. I think in the coming years we will learn more and more about how damaging vaping is, such as the below: How Vaping Can Affect Your Lungs Over time, as e-cigarette use continues, experts will gain a better understanding of how vaping affects the lungs. What we do know right now is that several lung diseases are associated with vaping: Vaping and Popcorn Lung “Popcorn lung” is another name for bronchiolitis obliterans (BO), a rare condition that results from damage of the lungs’ small airways. BO was originally discovered when popcorn factory workers started getting sick. The culprit was diacetyl, a food additive used to simulate butter flavor in microwave popcorn. Diacetyl is frequently added to flavored e-liquid to enhance the taste. Inhaling diacetyl causes inflammation and may lead to permanent scarring in the smallest branches of the airways — popcorn lung — which makes breathing difficult. Popcorn lung has no lasting treatment. There are, however, treatments that manage BO symptoms, such as: Coughing Wheezing Chest pain Shortness of breath Vaping-Related Lipoid Pneumonia Unlike the classic pneumonia caused by infection, lipoid pneumonia develops when fatty acids (the building blocks of fat) enter the lungs. Vaping-related lipoid pneumonia is the result of inhaling oily substances found in e-liquid, which sparks an inflammatory response in the lungs. Symptoms of lipoid pneumonia include: Chronic cough Shortness of breath Coughing up blood or blood-tinged mucus “There’s isn’t a good treatment for lipoid pneumonia, other than supportive care, while the lungs heal on their own,” says Broderick. “The single-most important thing you can do is identify what is causing it — in this case vaping — and eliminate it.” Primary Spontaneous Pneumothorax (Collapsed Lung) After Vaping Primary spontaneous pneumothorax, or collapsed lung, occurs when there’s a hole in the lung through which oxygen escapes. This can be the result of an injury — such as a gunshot or knife wound — or when air blisters on the top of the lungs rupture and create tiny tears. Those who develop these blisters are usually tall, thin people who had a period of rapid growth during adolescence, says Broderick. Because of the accelerated growth, a weak point may blister and develop at the top of the lungs. On their own, these blisters don’t typically produce symptoms. You don’t know you have them, unless they rupture. Smoking — and now vaping — are associated with an increased risk of bursting these blisters, leading to lung collapse. “At Johns Hopkins, we’re seeing a rash of collapsed lungs in younger people,” reports Broderick. “We always ask if they’ve been smoking, and they’ll often say, ‘No, I don’t smoke. But I do vape.’ Now we tell patients not to smoke or vape if they want to avoid another lung collapse and surgery in the future.” Signs of a collapsed lung include: Sharp chest or shoulder pain Shortness of breath Difficulty breathing Oxygen treatment and rest may be all that’s need for a collapsed lung to heal. But more advanced cases require a chest tube to drain leaked oxygen from the body cavity or surgery to repair the hole in the lung. by wandergirl92 (Wed 15th Mar 2023 4:14pm)

  • Google maps streams data to your phone letting you know exactly where you are, what’s around you, where the traffic is to make your journey as easy as possible. Getting the perfect route is the most important thing. As opposed to this, Tomtom actually downloads the entire map to your phone and after having a connection once it knows where you are, the phone does the rest. The benefit of this is that you don’t need an internet signal to use it. This can be incredibly helpful if you’re in areas that may struggle with signal or even if would just like to save the battery life on your phone. by wandergirl92 (Thu 30th Mar 2023 10:11am)

Surely there’s a better way to timetable/build in gaps to allow for things being a bit later?! by wandergirl92 (Wed 19th Apr 2023 12:16pm)
  • Well aye it is inconvenient actually. Why’s it so hard to try to stick on time? 5-10 mins fine things happen, more than that just organise your appointments better. I just thought a lot of the items were there without much good information on the cards below them. Things like bowls from 300 years ago but dosent say anything other than a place name? Dosent say which group of people it was of interest to, dosent say how it was found/acquired etc etc. also a big glass cabinet with old crystal wine glasses in it??
