  • BBC is pro-union, unionists tend to be loyalists which is a term for people who are part of the Orange order. Using the colour Orange is a slap in the face to any non unionist in Scotland. by whatthefexisthis (Fri 3rd Jun 2022 12:14am)
  • It’s pretentious and it’s not the accent they had before going to uni/reaching a certain age that’s why people hate it. by whatthefexisthis (Mon 6th Jun 2022 5:45pm)
  • There’s been a lot of posts about anniesland recently, are you lot alright? I can’t make my mind up of it’s about to hit the skids or become gentrified. by whatthefexisthis (Mon 6th Jun 2022 8:30pm)
  • You’re presumed surname and locality now makes me worry we may be related. The rat story is also entirely on brand. by whatthefexisthis (Mon 6th Jun 2022 10:42pm)
  • Second Joe Junk, quick and easy service. Used them to empty a full shop before and they couldn’t be nicer. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 7th Jun 2022 6:44pm)
  • How badly do you need/want the flat would be my main concern, it’s a little premature to base a housing decision on something that might not happen. by whatthefexisthis (Wed 8th Jun 2022 5:18pm)
  • If you need the flat badly then the prospect of a future pet shouldn’t equate into the decision. You need a roof over your head, council houses aren’t easily come by. You don’t know where you’ll be in a few years so to base your decision on a yet to be determined pet is irresponsible. However as you’ve said you have other issues to factor in that are probably more pressing so I do wish you luck. by whatthefexisthis (Wed 8th Jun 2022 5:28pm)
  • No worries, I hope it goes well and if anyone did ever dig you for the dog you could just say you are watching it for someone etc. As long as you aren’t letting it soil the landing/lift, leaving it to bark in the veranda all day (all of which I highly doubt you would), most people will mind their business. Good luck and hopefully a happy new home to you too. by whatthefexisthis (Wed 8th Jun 2022 6:38pm)
  • Now I think of it, I can only list two people I know that’s got divorced but then again I am from an Irish catholic family, my mammy was the first in our family to be born here so I guess there may be some correlation. . by whatthefexisthis (Thu 9th Jun 2022 2:13pm)
  • That might explain our bubbles, it’s an interesting statistic none the less. by whatthefexisthis (Thu 9th Jun 2022 4:24pm)
  • I shit you not there was about four, chatty and pleasant American’s yesterday huddled around a map, stood in Garscadden train station. I am none the wiser but hope they found whatever it was they were looking for. by whatthefexisthis (Thu 9th Jun 2022 8:36pm)
  • Nah just the organ donor sign up people, we had like an hour long assembly in sixth year. One time princess ann came to the school and they kept us all locked in class rooms until she left. by whatthefexisthis (Thu 9th Jun 2022 8:51pm)
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Barlinnie. by whatthefexisthis (Thu 9th Jun 2022 10:03pm)
  • Don’t encourage them, next month they’ll be telling us wee specky was in fact staunch. by whatthefexisthis (Thu 9th Jun 2022 10:49pm)
  • As others have said Lupe Pinto’s, their homemade guacamole and salsa is quite nice too. Basically don’t expect to go in and only come home with just one thing. by whatthefexisthis (Fri 10th Jun 2022 12:11pm)
  • Or “St Patty’s” day... by whatthefexisthis (Fri 10th Jun 2022 1:36pm)
  • My guess is it wasn’t Knightswood Shopping Centre anyway. by whatthefexisthis (Fri 10th Jun 2022 8:03pm)
  • Lol you are in a Scottish subreddit. You are aware that Scottish culture and heritage is constantly appropriated for fashion and often sexualised. You’ll also be aware of the prosecution that our ancestors faced for speaking their national language and daring to wear their traditional dress yes? Or does it not count because we are white? by whatthefexisthis (Fri 10th Jun 2022 8:02pm)
  • It’s not, New Ruby across the road is where is at. Sincerely the Yoker tourist board. by whatthefexisthis (Fri 10th Jun 2022 8:10pm)
  • I’m confused, if someone has paid for their journey and happens to have a pram with a kid on the bus, do you want the driver to chuck them off? I thought the bays were for both wheelchairs and prams? by whatthefexisthis (Sun 12th Jun 2022 1:14pm)
  • Ah okay, I always thought it was a first come, first served kinda deal. by whatthefexisthis (Sun 12th Jun 2022 3:16pm)

  • Tbf it’s just nobody wants to shag a prod, the rest of us are getting our hole occasionally. by whatthefexisthis (Sun 19th Jun 2022 6:16pm)
  • There’s endless possibilities. It could’ve been his first day, he could’ve been covering a shift, honestly who cares. She has a good few ways of finding out herself. Get the bus. Don’t get the bus but can every cunt just stop whining about the bus. by whatthefexisthis (Sun 19th Jun 2022 6:45pm)
  • One of the biggest call centre agency that outsources it all is called web help, if it’s something you are looking to do (I personally hated it), that’s who to Google. by whatthefexisthis (Mon 20th Jun 2022 11:05pm)
  • “Westend” once they try and list the flat for sale too πŸ˜‚ I like Maryhill but it’s the fucking North of Glasgow. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 21st Jun 2022 6:18pm)
  • Don’t know why you’re being downvoted it’s true, it’s just 90% of people greetin about the bus or some trivial pish, the other 10% is some American asking where they should stay in Glasgow. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 21st Jun 2022 6:15pm)
  • Aye the Hanoi bike shop is awful, crap service and the food is vile. Massively went downhill. If in the lanes go to Chaakoo (I’ve probably misspelled that) but lovely wee place. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 21st Jun 2022 9:24pm)
  • I’m here for it but being the fat bastard that I am, I’ll just make it a personal challenge to visit every place and rank it, pretending that I’m Tam Mcgowen. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 21st Jun 2022 9:26pm)
  • Swedish goldfish? IKEA sell them as a heads up. by whatthefexisthis (Wed 22nd Jun 2022 12:51am)

  • Tell me Anniesland is becoming gentrified without telling me Anniesland is becoming gentrified. by whatthefexisthis (Wed 22nd Jun 2022 6:04pm)
  • I meant the person not recognising a young team or two scrapping but I can understand how what I said could be confused. And you’re right it is absolutely becoming gentrified there, Maryhill isn’t far behind! by whatthefexisthis (Wed 22nd Jun 2022 10:06pm)
  • Same happened to me πŸ˜‚ was utterly raging at myself by whatthefexisthis (Fri 24th Jun 2022 12:58pm)
  • As others have said the majority no longer wear masks but you will still see a few in indoor settings such as supermarkets, shops in general, public buildings and public transport. I think most of us have become oblivious to it all and not to sound like my mammy here but most people are too worried about what they are doing/feeling to notice what others are up to. Have a nice trip :) by whatthefexisthis (Fri 24th Jun 2022 12:57pm)
  • Nature is healing. by whatthefexisthis (Wed 29th Jun 2022 8:50pm)
  • I hope you get it sorted but I hate to be the bearer of bad news...it’s the Summer, the young team have nothing else to do. The police will move them on depending on what’s going on locally (good luck this weekend) but they’ll just come back and probably be louder and more annoying as a “fuck you” to the “grass”. by whatthefexisthis (Wed 29th Jun 2022 9:08pm)
  • Rumour has it, they’ll be bringing a Spa to Glasgow and I guess this kinda cements it. by whatthefexisthis (Thu 30th Jun 2022 7:51pm)
  • A gentleman (or gentlelady or gentleperson) and a scholar (or ned). by whatthefexisthis (Fri 1st Jul 2022 10:23pm)

  • This is what I do for a living with various brands and 99% of it is just using my phone. If you need any help, drop me a message and I’ll happily assist and talk you through most processes and how to get your content out there/seen by others. by whatthefexisthis (Wed 6th Jul 2022 1:25am)
  • No worries at all, drop me a line whenever you’re ready πŸ‘πŸ» by whatthefexisthis (Wed 6th Jul 2022 1:30am)
  • I think that is it sorted now? by whatthefexisthis (Wed 6th Jul 2022 10:40pm)
  • Pick somewhere on this list that you’ve never been before so you have a “new place” and can also save it for future anniversaries etc. Congratulations to both of you ☺️ by whatthefexisthis (Sun 10th Jul 2022 6:48pm)
  • More that this r/ is constantly full of “I’m moving to Glasgow from America/Canada what should I expect” type of posts and has been for a while. I can’t say I’ve personally noticed an influx in person but yeah on here it’s prevalent. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 9:00am)
  • Don’t be an arsehole, it was a genuine question you jumped up fuck. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 1:14pm)
  • Naw, I was referring to all the constant posts in the r/Glasgow thread about people moving here and wondered why now. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 1:15pm)
  • They might be disappointed 😒 by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 1:31pm)
  • It would also explain the boom in student accommodation, thanks for the insight! by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 2:59pm)
  • I’ve noticed the touristy element too, not a bad thing at all but part of me was blaming Gerry Cinnamon etc haha! by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 2:58pm)
  • My apologies, I should’ve said this question was purely based on the recent flurry of “I’m moving to Glasgow from said place, what can I expect etc” posts I’ve noticed on here. I realise anyone can pose questions and answers but truly was just wondering if I had missed something that was all. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 2:57pm)
  • Pal, you honestly need to get a grip. Asking a serious question is how people learn, I’m aware of a few reasons but being busy and y’know not a North American does mean I’m likely to miss things. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 2:55pm)
  • Ah cool, hopefully you enjoy the experience! by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 3:03pm)
  • Hahahaha! Things you love to see. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 3:03pm)
  • The latter I was not aware of, fucking hell, I’m going to go and read up now. Many thanks. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 3:02pm)
  • I can’t say I blame him, why work hard for very little! by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 3:02pm)
  • Absolutely and willing to take that into account but at the same time if you don’t ask, you don’t know. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 3:01pm)
  • Very valid points, who knew Glasgow was the new Largs ha! Thanks for the serious reply! by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 3:00pm)
  • I’m not against people moving btw, it’s just this r/ each time I log in is hoaching with the same kinda moving question. It’s annoying but above that I just wanted to know if I had missed something and was being ignorant. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 3:07pm)
  • As good a reason as any. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 4:14pm)
  • Offt! That’s quite the leap. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 4:14pm)
  • It was a serious question, there was no attempt of humour nor sarcasm. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 4:12pm)
  • It doesn’t matter at all, I asked out of genuine curiosity - I was more wondering if perhaps there had been some new companies etc. Anyway people should absolutely have the freedom to roam and see/live in other places and I’m sorry you’ve experienced xenophobic attitudes whilst here. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 4:57pm)
  • Placeholder comment so I can come back and reply/apologise once I’ve charged my phone. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 5:04pm)
  • Uni is a really good point and fucking tik tok, if it’s not bad enough it drains my battery daily... by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 5:03pm)
  • Fuck, that’s absolutely heart breaking. 2022 and women still don’t have full control over their anatomy and another Redditor mentioned they are looking to revoke gay marriage too. I can’t comprehend how a seemingly first world country has got to this point. by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 5:02pm)
  • Agreed! by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 5:05pm)
  • Yet... by whatthefexisthis (Tue 19th Jul 2022 5:04pm)
  • I fear the UK could very well go down a similar route in the future. Healthcare should not bankrupt a person, utterly wild. by whatthefexisthis (Wed 20th Jul 2022 12:09am)
  • I sadly seen the case you mentioned and it makes me sick to my stomach. Fox News is a fucking cancer and I wasn’t aware that there’s states that have a no exception, especially not previous to Roe being overturned. Thank you for the info and insight! So essentially they are saying fuck democracy? What a shit show!!! by whatthefexisthis (Wed 20th Jul 2022 12:12am)
  • Please don’t apologise, I misconstrued the tone and truly, I wasn’t looking to have a go at anyone moving here for any reason let alone health. By posting the question my eyes have been opened, I ignorantly and purposefully don’t pay too much attention to US news outlets anymore. As a child, I truly thought it was the great place on earth and all I wanted to do was live there. The older I get, the more sickened I am by the actions of so many there, many of which you’ve eloquently highlighted. Healthcare is almost a commodity in the US, you certainly didn’t ask for such a horrific thing to happen to you, let alone have to foot a bill that would bankrupt most. It’s diabolical and I don’t blame you one minute for saying eff this and going somewhere you hopefully feel safe and now call home. I don’t feel disrespected, I’m a nippy sweetie or as others may put it a cheeky cunt hahaha! Please don’t stress any further about it and thank you for some personal insight, it was more than enlightening! Have a good one :) by whatthefexisthis (Wed 20th Jul 2022 12:19am)
  • Too late for that tbh... by whatthefexisthis (Wed 20th Jul 2022 8:27am)
  • Nah I’m also in the same area as you, I should’ve worded my post better tbh. Basically I was curious as to why every day without fail there’s several “I’m moving to Glasgow” posts and wanted to know if I had missed something outwith the obvious roe/covid situation. by whatthefexisthis (Wed 20th Jul 2022 2:11pm)
  • Nobody cares that you hate FirstBus, least of all FirstBus. by whatthefexisthis (Thu 21st Jul 2022 5:31pm)
  • Clydebank shopping centre is also full of empty units. It’s a shopping centre, it’s more comparable to say Braehead/Silverburn than it is the high street. There’s also beggars in Clydebank outside of Asda, sometimes the co-op and the actual retail park. Glasgow city centre isn’t dying because people are begging, it’s due to high rates and shit/expensive parking. The pedestrianised area of Sauchiehall street and the fires also contributed. by whatthefexisthis (Thu 21st Jul 2022 5:38pm)
  • Also a sure fire way to keep the VL population down. by whatthefexisthis (Thu 21st Jul 2022 5:42pm)
  • Legally in Scotland you can not numb an area before piercing. Piercers are not permitted to offer such service so if they are willing, I wouldn’t get any piercing within their premises as if they are willing to risk their licence for that, what else are they half-arsing. If you do want to numb the area you’ll have to go over the border. by whatthefexisthis (Wed 27th Jul 2022 9:12pm)
