  • If you wear Crocs in your day to day life and are comfortable in Crocs then I would just wear them. Jury duty is an inconvenience and I absolutely would not be going out of my personal comfort zone for it. by CottonSocksRocks (Fri 12th Aug 2022 12:14pm)
  • Waitrose used to sell a tub in their sandwich section..... They might well still do, I just can't afford to shop in Watrose these days so wouldn't know!! by CottonSocksRocks (Sat 13th Aug 2022 2:45pm)
  • Socky! by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 15th Aug 2022 7:12am)
  • I'll show myself out!! I am shook! Never once have I personally ever called it anything other than Sockyhall! by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 15th Aug 2022 7:15am)
  • Maybe a little! But I will absolutely adjust if I have infact been wrong all of these years! I am honestly just super surprised as no one has ever corrected me before- they probably just laughed at me behind my back!! by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 15th Aug 2022 10:28am)
  • I always pre-tip, I did not realise that I was in the minority but then again I always tip which appears to be in the minority too! Who knew!? by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 22nd Aug 2022 7:28am)
  • Because the person has still brought my food to my door and that's what I tip them for. Aside from that most of the things that can go wrong with a delivery are down to the restaurant and not the driver so I have no issue with pre-tipping. by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 22nd Aug 2022 3:52pm)
  • I have two school aged kids and they both speak with faux American accents thanks to YouTube as do a lot of other kids their age. It can be amusing but there is clearly no malice to it. We are also friendly with a couple of American families who have moved here and it's funny how quickly they were saying everything was a wee bit this and a wee bit that and asking for a bottle of fizzy juice! I am sure that you will be just fine, Glasgow is a welcoming city. by CottonSocksRocks (Sun 28th Aug 2022 9:58am)
  • Haha, not a fan? I thought Mr Whippy was the original ice cream?! by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 29th Aug 2022 9:13am)
  • You are kidding?? Seriously?? How did I not know this?! They just remind me of old school ice cream vans before there were ice cream parlors with flavours galore! To be honest I much prefer a flavoured ice cream but wanted to scratch a nostalgic itch today. by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 29th Aug 2022 9:21am)
  • We were there the other day! I had birthday cake ice cream and it was awesome! If I'm honest it's just a vanilla cone with a flake and strawberry sauce that I'm hankering for so might just go to a regular ice cream place and get just that! I honestly never knew that Mr Whippy was so controversial! by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 29th Aug 2022 11:12am)
  • If you like Indian I have heard amazing things about India Quay. It also has the added bonus of being right next to the SEC. by CottonSocksRocks (Wed 31st Aug 2022 7:11am)
  • I have been searching for that video for a looooong time, it has literally disappeared from the internet! by CottonSocksRocks (Fri 16th Sep 2022 7:06pm)
  • I loved it in there, many good memories! Do you also remember the Cas Bar on the opposite corner? They had a late alcohol licence for food so they used to make you buy a cheese or ham toastie- that got shut down after a wee while! They also used to have a night called the Venus Fly Trap where if a woman went in on a Monday and bought two drinks she could come back on the Tuesday and get 8 free- we took advantage of that and the toasties on many an occasion! by CottonSocksRocks (Sat 17th Sep 2022 2:24pm)
  • Thank you! I honestly thought it had been wiped off the face of the earth...... A bit like poor old Ally! by CottonSocksRocks (Sun 18th Sep 2022 4:47pm)
  • My kids are too young to drink but man this is the kinda stuff that gives me the fear for when they do!! by CottonSocksRocks (Tue 27th Sep 2022 9:17am)
  • Social Security can also send someone out to the person who is applying's home to help them fill in and submit the form online. Also the advice I was given when applying for child disability payment was to always fill in the form as if you are describing the worst days from a pain and difficulty point of view. by CottonSocksRocks (Tue 27th Sep 2022 8:24pm)
  • Oh me too, a long line of them! I'm not entirely sure if from my point of view it's an awareness or if it's 'Do as I say and not as I've done' when it comes to the kids and alcohol! It's hard to know how to build a healthy relationship with alcohol for them. I don't want to make it a mystery or a forbidden thing for them but then again my family normalised drinking to the extreme and I grew up believing that multiple bottles of wine with every single meal was perfectly acceptable and that social drinking meant drinking at every given opportunity! There's an interesting conversation to be had around the whole thing! by CottonSocksRocks (Wed 28th Sep 2022 6:32am)
  • A medium Oasis from McDonald's, no ice, living wild over here! by CottonSocksRocks (Thu 6th Oct 2022 6:51pm)
  • I think it's down to what they have been cooked in! Beef dripping seems to leave your mouth feeling furry and sticks to the roof of your mouth whereas you don't seem to get that if they are cooked in some sort of veg oil..... That's my theory anyway! by CottonSocksRocks (Sun 9th Oct 2022 8:32pm)
  • Yeah see that did cross my mind but surely if he wanted to ask something he'd have continued to try and catch my partner's attention?! by CottonSocksRocks (Thu 13th Oct 2022 5:44pm)
  • Again entirely possible but if he was that awkward surely he'd have just driven off completly? But as I said maybe I am reading too much into it and he just thought I was a nosey cow!! by CottonSocksRocks (Thu 13th Oct 2022 5:47pm)
  • If it really was that innocent then I feel like a right tit! I was honestly really unnerved by the whole thing, but then again I am also pregnant, hormonal and prone to letting my imagination run wild!! I guess I will never know but I do feel better thinking that it might have been nothing untoward! by CottonSocksRocks (Thu 13th Oct 2022 5:58pm)
  • This was the 'old' Bearsden academy, the new school is very much improved from those days! Also who were the 3 teachers? I neeeeed to know! 😂 I can take a guess at one or two of them! by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 24th Oct 2022 7:29pm)
  • Was one of them the teacher with a room full of trolls?? I'm sure I heard that he got into bother over innapropriate behaviour! Aw man, now I really need to know who the 3rd one is!! Feel free to DM me and put me out of my misery....... 😂 That school was staffed by some right wrong un's back in the day! by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 24th Oct 2022 7:37pm)
  • Yes! I saw them after my maternity appointment the other day- I slowed the car down and mouthed 'cunts' at them! I find their presence horrifying! by CottonSocksRocks (Sat 25th Feb 2023 10:42pm)
  • Not in Glasgow but last year I had some very intimate photographs professionally taken for my partner's Christmas present and the only place that I could find who would print them was actually Vistaprint online! I did phone round plenty of places in Glasgow but they all said no...... Those were some hilariously awkward conversations 😳 by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 13th Mar 2023 9:17pm)
  • Yes! I tried Funky Pigeon and a couple of other online printers too but Vista Print were the only ones who said that it was fine. by CottonSocksRocks (Mon 13th Mar 2023 9:30pm)
  • Gender-based violence is violence directed against a person because of that person's gender or violence that affects persons of a particular gender disproportionately. (I thought that your question was stupid until on thinking about it I realised that I also didn't know so the answer above is courtesy of Google) by CottonSocksRocks (Sat 10th Jun 2023 7:41pm)
  • A marriage is (hopefully) for life but the wedding is just one day. You'll be married wether you spend £100 or £10,000 on your day and it's what you do after that day that counts and as someone who had a big wedding and couldn't afford a house and as someone who is with a partner, not married but on the property ladder in a house that we love I can tell you that the home makes our partnership happier and stronger and I would take this every single time over the wedding. Also I always think of weddings like going for a massage, it's amazing while it lasts but within a week everything goes back to normal and it feels like you never had it, but you've still had to pay for it! 😂 by CottonSocksRocks (Wed 5th Jul 2023 6:17pm)
