  • Coincidentally, I left Ru'glen to go to Rafa's for a takeaway about 3. Turned left at Anderston from the Kingston bridge, and there the cunts were. Didn't expect to be held up by them/there at that time. Rafas was shut, went to Pala instead. Fuckin' double ragin' by Furious_Styles73 (Sun 19th Sep 2021 12:23am)
  • We're going to Playground on Friday, hoping they've sorted things out by then. Definitely putting more money on the wristbands in case the queues for top ups are as bad as been reported this weekend. by Furious_Styles73 (Sun 19th Sep 2021 10:37am)
  • As I said, I'm hoping they've sorted things out, and I'll no be holding my breath. Cheers for your input though. by Furious_Styles73 (Sun 19th Sep 2021 10:57am)

  • Hahaha! The bag full o cans would be ideal, but think I'll be doing the screw lid Capri sun. Heard there were metal detectors at trnsmt so that might rule out the hip flask. by Furious_Styles73 (Sun 19th Sep 2021 6:26pm)

  • Had a look in my missus bag, nae body searches at all. Batter in with whatever you want. by Furious_Styles73 (Sat 25th Sep 2021 1:33am)
  • Crackin atmosphere in a really nice setting. Pretty disorganised. Top up your wrist band before you go. Take as much alcohol and whatever else you can conceal on your body, as they only look in bags no pat down or metal detector wands. Queues for booze were a cunt later on, even in the VIP area. Forest stage was spot on for a dance. Enjoy yersel! by Furious_Styles73 (Sat 25th Sep 2021 8:35am)
  • Dunno if you saw my post in the other thread earlier. If you haven't already, top up your wristband before you go. Be prepared for big queues at the bars later on, and it being a bit disorganised. But don't let it spoil your day. Really good atmosphere and nice setting. Have a fuckin ball! by Furious_Styles73 (Sat 25th Sep 2021 11:18am)
  • Yeah, same mob who organised the food thing last week also organised the festival this weekend. by Furious_Styles73 (Sat 25th Sep 2021 11:26am)
  • Glad to hear that mate. Regarding the attendance, we managed to walk right to the front at the barrier 5 minutes before the Libertines started. Same for Irvine Welsh and Morcheeba. I'll definitely go again next year depending on the line up. Agreed re the cups, cracking idea. by Furious_Styles73 (Sun 26th Sep 2021 11:21am)
  • Ooft, yer a gemme boy. Harri and Domenic ended up doing a 6hr set on the Forest stage cos of the cancellations. Was tempted to go again yesterday, but going out with our pals today. I'm too auld for 3 days in a row. by Furious_Styles73 (Sun 26th Sep 2021 11:54am)

You would get away with someone else's paper copy though, as they weren't checking it against ID. Crackin gig btw. by Furious_Styles73 (Wed 20th Oct 2021 10:19am)
  • Aye, my pal was at the game before it, he pretty much echoed what you said. Tempted to go through on Friday as well, still tix available. That was the third time I'd seen them and by far the best. Enjoy! by Furious_Styles73 (Wed 20th Oct 2021 10:47am)
  • Got tickets for Fontaines DC at the Corn Exchange later. Never been there for a gig before. Anyone know if it's a good venue, any decent pubs near it? Had a quick look on Google maps and it looks like it's in the middle of a scheme. by Furious_Styles73 (Fri 22nd Oct 2021 8:05am)
  • Aye, saw the Asda on street view. Gonnae get the train to Slateford from Central, and probably just have a few beers in the venue. Cheers. by Furious_Styles73 (Fri 22nd Oct 2021 8:43am)
  • Cheers for the reply. Aye, Slateford station seems a short walk to the venue, can get a train straight there from central. Probably just make do with pints in plastic tumblers in the place then. Saw them at the Barrowlands on Tuesday, so I'll see how it compares. by Furious_Styles73 (Fri 22nd Oct 2021 8:41am)
  • Aye, wouldn't expect it to be. Barras is a bit special. Think this will only be my second gig in Edinburgh. Only going cos my pal missed out on Tuesday. Could think of worse Fridays right enough. by Furious_Styles73 (Fri 22nd Oct 2021 9:24am)

  • I fancied that this year, but a combination of lack of information about it and some Cop26 restrictions still being in place put me off. I wanted to see Yard Act and wondered if it was first come first serve at the venue, once you'd bought the festival ticket. by Furious_Styles73 (Thu 4th Nov 2021 1:49pm)

Weirdly enough, Kelis is advertised to play the Sunday of the "festival" Groove Armada as well, who've previously played Playground. I live in Ru'glen. Might take a scoot by later and see if there's any progress. by Furious_Styles73 (Tue 26th Apr 2022 9:03am)
  • That's interesting. Hot Chip were supposed to do a DJ set at Playground last year, and cancelled. Also saw The Flaming Lips advertised to play at J1, but think that got moved to the Barras. Fuckin' stinks! by Furious_Styles73 (Tue 26th Apr 2022 8:59pm)

  • Fair enough, but they've been advertising this place as an event venue since last year. With food and drink court, main arena and open for community events. If you're there before 8.30 am you'll get parked on the main road just past Caledonia AVE. by Furious_Styles73 (Tue 28th Jun 2022 1:32pm)
  • 😂 You'll get parked a bit further along, later. It's heading East continuation of the main Street. The single yellows stop at the Junction of Caledonian avenue.at the BP filling station, after that you're grand 👍 by Furious_Styles73 (Tue 28th Jun 2022 1:39pm)

  • Park in Rutherglen and do the 20 minute walk to Hampden, it's a straight road. I'd recommend parking on East main Street. I walked back from Primal Scream at Queen's Park a week past Saturday, and the cars (assuming folk picking people up) were bumper to bumper from Hampden back to Burnhill street in Ru'glen. Chaos. by Furious_Styles73 (Wed 13th Jul 2022 10:27am)

  • Hope it all comes off for you. Fwiw, I went to playground last year and apart from one of the Hot Chip crew cancelling a DJ set, we all had a great time. What put me off this thing (apart from Brian Traynor being a dodgy cunt) was the lack of work being done on the site. Considering it was supposed to be a permanent event space, it didn't look good at all. Anyway, hope all the acts turn up and you have a great time. by Furious_Styles73 (Tue 26th Jul 2022 8:12pm)

  • I also live in a tenement and got this one. It's fairly quiet, has a night mode, laundry mode (helps dry your clothes a lot quicker) and an air purifier if you use a hepa filter. Can't recommend it enough. by Furious_Styles73 (Tue 15th Nov 2022 10:56pm)
