  • It's been happening in the city centre too, group of young boys on bikes cycling down streets (Buchanan, argyle etc) and throwing them into crowds and stuff. Luckily no one had been hurt so far (that I know of) but it's definitely terrifying walking home from grabbing some milk and loud bangs just start happening down the street. Definitely not enough done to stop it 😕 I understand that their bored but come one. by Living_Tiamat (Fri 23rd Oct 2020 12:51pm)
  • Small town GPs will do that for you 😂 I've found them to be mostly helpful so far by Living_Tiamat (Thu 25th Mar 2021 1:08pm)
  • I'm gonna be near the quay! I didn't realise how big the area was by Living_Tiamat (Thu 25th Mar 2021 1:07pm)
  • I didn't realise I was so close to a different area! Thank you 😊 by Living_Tiamat (Thu 25th Mar 2021 1:11pm)
  • The doctor I'm currently with usually gets back same day so that's not ideal. My medications can need changing same day if my migraines start getting worse so 1-1 1/2 weeks definitely wouldn't work 😂 by Living_Tiamat (Fri 26th Mar 2021 1:58am)
  • A petition would probably help. Less for getting the council to take action but more for getting attention. Petitions can trend easily and as a student I know that students love to share a petition on their feeds 😂 definitely make one! Even if it's just to get attention by Living_Tiamat (Wed 31st Mar 2021 5:11pm)
  • DELETED I'm completely fine with this happening usually (you accept that when you move next to Ibrox) however this is the area with an outbreak. Anyone complaining about restrictions not being lifted can't say this is okay. If it was like the protests, socially distanced or at least with masks I'd understand, but it's not. by Living_Tiamat (Sat 15th May 2021 3:55pm)
  • That was my partner. I personally have no views in any of this usually. I understand that this is great win and yes that should be celebrated but not like this when there's an outbreak. If the outbreak was on the other side of the city I'd be fine with it. by Living_Tiamat (Sat 15th May 2021 4:02pm)
  • I currently live in G41, however I only moved here last month and haven't been able to switch GPs yet. I have registered with council tax and everything tho. Will I receive an appointment? I'm gonna call up tomorrow and see but would love to know if anyone has a similar situation and what had happened? Also for people who have called what did you say!? TIA by Living_Tiamat (Sun 16th May 2021 11:10pm)
  • So we can show up even if we haven't received a text? I love in G41 but haven't registered with a new doctor yet. What do I need? TIA! by Living_Tiamat (Thu 20th May 2021 11:36am)
  • Amazing! I'll pop along today then and see what happens. I've been trying the covid hotline but I'm always 300+ in the queue and my work breaks aren't that long 😂 by Living_Tiamat (Thu 20th May 2021 12:37pm)
  • What is this number for? Since it's not the usual hotline one by Living_Tiamat (Thu 20th May 2021 12:41pm)
  • I usually hang around as long as I can but I've never made it to the end before I'm called back to work! by Living_Tiamat (Thu 20th May 2021 12:41pm)
  • Just off the phone with them and I'm on the list for tomorrow now! Thank you! by Living_Tiamat (Thu 20th May 2021 1:11pm)
  • I live in G41 but haven't registered with a doctor here yet. I called 08009176115 this morning and I'm on the list for tomorrow now. Unsure about your particular situation but if you call then they should be able to help! by Living_Tiamat (Thu 20th May 2021 2:45pm)
  • You'd be better calling 08009176115 The mosque isn't actually by walk-in appointment - you're supposed to call that number and they can add you to a list for a day. I called this morning and am on the list for tomorrow now. The timeframe of 10am-6pm is probably why people felt it was walk-in and this has meant that they've had to give out vaccinations today to walk-ins. They prefer that you call tho - so they know numbers! by Living_Tiamat (Thu 20th May 2021 6:00pm)
  • Asda is usually really good for school uniforms. Any big supermarket with a clothing section will have stuff, especially come the start of next term. If you can't get to the stores then online at Asda etc will also have stuff! If you're struggling to find things just now it'll literally just be because stores always release stuff at the beginning of the school year. by Living_Tiamat (Mon 24th May 2021 11:34am)
  • When I got my one at the mosque they let my boyfriend sit in the waiting area for me. We're from the same household so they said it was fine (he'd already had his vaccine, I'm just bad with jags) So honestly it's worth taking your friend and the people at the door will likely tell you it's fine - he sat in the wait chairs whilst I got my Jag and then I just went and joined him for the 10/15 minute wait. Just be honest and say that you're not great with needles and they'll keep an eye on you! They're there to help! by Living_Tiamat (Fri 28th May 2021 11:48am)
  • The Jag itself was okay, it went how I expected it to. I struggled to relax my arm and was overall very nervous. After ward's I had to stay on the waiting area longer than usual because I got really dizzy and light headed. Luckily I had warned then before hand about how I usually react and they were fully prepared with water and a screen when I had to lay down for a minute. by Living_Tiamat (Sat 29th May 2021 10:29am)
  • Hi! I'm in same position as you! I'm a 20f student, due to this semester ending and lockdown I've currently got no one still in Glasgow to do stuff with (except my boyfriend who obviously has his own friends so I can't bug all the time). I'd love to talk and see if we can do anything! My boyfriend plays Dnd and has DM'd for me and a few friends before so we could definitely look at setting that up with a few people 😊 by Living_Tiamat (Mon 31st May 2021 12:22pm)
  • I just want to try the new Vue out, gotta know how comfy those seats are by Living_Tiamat (Tue 1st Jun 2021 5:42pm)
  • I found my current flat with a private landlord on onthemarket.com. Me and my partner are both undergraduates so it took months of looking but definitely had better luck on there than Rightmove or anything else! by Living_Tiamat (Sun 20th Jun 2021 12:47am)
  • Pizza Punks is great! Especially for large groups, something a little different and caters to all. Plus the atmosphere is good by Living_Tiamat (Fri 6th Aug 2021 6:58pm)
  • The Govan Asda has them! I've got them in my delivery from them this week. I've been getting them for my dad who can't get them nearby anymore either, weird how hard they are to find now by Living_Tiamat (Sun 3rd Apr 2022 10:22pm)
  • Can't go wrong with an escape room if you want something different! There's loads around Glasgow all with different themes so finding one that'll interest you shouldn't be hard by Living_Tiamat (Tue 17th May 2022 1:42am)
  • You'll be getting £810 a month if you're on the full loan + Bursary next year! September will be a double payment tho so £1620. You'll get a letter confirming it all but it's just your total amount divided by 10 because of the double pay in September That's at least how it works for my uni course? Payments run September-May for me, so I could be wrong if yours is a different kind of SAAS by Living_Tiamat (Tue 17th May 2022 1:46am)
  • We've just moved and our property said they'd allow pets on the ad. Inquired about it after moving since we've been hoping to get a dog and it's an extra months rent for the deposit and had rules about the size (as if I'd force a great Dane to live in a small flat) and wanted it to come house trained. I was expecting a little extra of a deposit but in pain at how long it'll be before we can justify another full month deposit. You will find a place you've just gotta be prepared to pay extra and unfortunately it'll take awhile, we spent 3 months looking and didn't have a pet (we are students tho which definitely limited the options) by Living_Tiamat (Thu 30th Jun 2022 11:39pm)
  • Unfortunately that only applies to England! In Scotland pet deposits are still allowed. The max deposit in Scotland is 2 months rent. by Living_Tiamat (Thu 30th Jun 2022 11:46pm)
  • I know! It's improved recently because the default Scottish tenancy agreement allows pets with permission, with landlords only being allowed to say no for justified reasons (mortgage/insurance reason's or stuff to do with negatively impacting a building or something) but the amount that places can take for a deposit is crazy and some landlords will do anything to say to a pet even with the new rules. by Living_Tiamat (Thu 30th Jun 2022 11:54pm)
  • I don't think I'd ever convince my boyfriend to not tell the landlords. The fear of eviction/having no where to live is too strong. It is ridiculous that it's so hard to have a pet and a decent flat. I'm holding out hope for September when SAAS starts back up, since then the double deposit is possible but I just wanted the summer to get the dog settled before classes start back up Good luck with hunt! by Living_Tiamat (Thu 30th Jun 2022 11:59pm)
  • I'm in the craigton area but happily take him on the bus anywhere to meet up with people so all suggestions are good so far! by Living_Tiamat (Sat 23rd Jul 2022 8:32am)
  • It's a 2 month limit on deposits in Scotland unfortunately. 5 weeks is England, so an extra month of deposit for a pet is a very real and very upsetting thing. by Living_Tiamat (Sat 1st Oct 2022 11:48pm)
  • Last year we actually enjoyed it but went this year and it just didn't feel like much. I'm putting it down to last year still having some restrictions on tickets sold per time. So we could actually take our time, get photos and enjoy it. This year you'll spend most of the time standing in queues whilst being encouraged (loudly shouted at) to skip all the actual props etc by staff because they've trying to shorten the queues. Kids definitely seem to enjoy it unless you have a 10 year old who hates standing still as much as I did! by Living_Tiamat (Fri 4th Nov 2022 1:15pm)
  • I've taken my dog on both first and McGill's and he's a lab mix so not exactly small. Never had any problems and even tho there's supposed to be the 1 dog rule or whatever I've been let on when there's another dog before. (Didn't know until I was already on the bus but luckily both dogs minded their own business) Never been kicked back and mine often likes to sit on the seat or on my lap a little and no one's ever said anything. He just likes looking out the window and I hate taking up space at the front if I don't need to so I've found going up the back easiest. by Living_Tiamat (Sun 3rd Sep 2023 12:48pm)
  • Mine is basically fully grown now and still thinks he's a lap dog. Sometimes a bit uncomfortable for me but it's better than him being on the floor near the front. Not sure if it's just the buses I usually take but some people jump away from him or even scream a little sometimes. As if waving their arms around isn't the reason he's interested in them. It can be very frustrating. Because he will mind his own business unless he thinks you're trying to play or pat him I've only experienced that in Glasgow so far tho. by Living_Tiamat (Sun 3rd Sep 2023 11:41pm)
