  • I just left 😅 by No_Danger (Sat 16th Feb 2019 11:02am)
  • I’m actually supposed to go view a house in Knightswood! What a coincidence. A bit more expensive than some others we looked at so wasn’t sure if it would be worth it as the street (crusader avenue) looks kind of ex-council housey? Worth a punt then? by No_Danger (Sat 16th Feb 2019 11:00am)
  • Not helpful but you just sated my curiosity because I liked that house (I think it’s the same one) and it was on at a fixed price/ sold then reappeared on the market but you were to quick for me haha, I wondered what I’d happened the first time, I guess they got scared off by this! by No_Danger (Fri 28th Feb 2020 12:33pm)
  • It’s been nuts that’s why we were tempted by a fixed price, things go so fasts and so far over the valuation around there! We put in offers on two places that were both more than 15k over the valuation/ 20k over the asking price and didn’t get either 😭 Thinking of looking further out west but I hear it gets rough pretty quickly once you get past Knightswood? I’m not a local so I dunno really by No_Danger (Fri 28th Feb 2020 9:47pm)

  • I’m not surprised - I sent a message to Scotrail with similar photos and they very clearly didn’t give a shit by No_Danger (Fri 31st Jul 2020 4:33pm)
  • I think there’s a social responsibility to call people out when they’re doing something that puts everyone around them in danger. We shouldn’t have to just scramble about trying to avoid them. I’d like to think that seeing a photo of someone without a mask posted online (assuming they’re clearly not medically exempt) might make others more likely to think twice before behaving the same way. by No_Danger (Fri 31st Jul 2020 4:46pm)
  • Are cycling lessons for adults a thing? I’ve looked in the past and found nothing, that would be the ideal Of course, I should’ve been clearer, I would only consider cycling on the wide and largely empty pavements around here and not at busy times, I’m not a complete monster by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 12:49pm)
  • Haha, fair by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 12:46pm)
  • Oh, thank you! I have no idea what’s round here, I didn’t even think of that. I’m a dolt I’m away to look for a bike and kid seat on Gumtree and I’ll stick to the canal for now.. looks like I could maybe get to the botanic gardens too by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 12:46pm)
  • Sincerely confused as to if you mean me? Or there’s some known angry pavement cyclist here? I personally downvoted your other comment pre-edit because you seemed unnecessarily mean but downvoted nobody else 🤷‍♀️ by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 12:51pm)
  • I didn’t even consider dogs right enough, I’ll be sticking to the canal for now as I think it’s the only bike safe place near enough for me to walk the bike and kid to but now I’m worried about scaring dogs walking there, it’s a minefield haha by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 12:55pm)
  • Oh man, I didn’t think of hearing impaired people not hearing bells Of course, I was never imagining whooshing up behind people at speed but now I’m glad I asked the question since I know I need to be aware not everyone on a shared path would hear a bell by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 1:00pm)
  • Thank so much, I’ll have another look by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 1:08pm)
  • I don’t remember your original reply saying anything about wheelchairs etc. but maybe I just skim read it. Like I say, I’m not bothered by honest answers or I wouldn’t have asked. I didn’t downvote anybody else, I didn’t downvote your opinion but your personality, you just seem like a bit unpleasant. Maybe you should take a nap? by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 1:06pm)
  • Haha, zing, you got me. by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 1:13pm)
  • Christ Johnny, I just asked a question, calm down I was serious about that nap, if you’re devoting this much energy to being mad at a stranger maybe you need to take a little time to look after yourself and try to feel better ❤️ by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 1:21pm)
  • Have they? Haha shows how far I’ve ventured from my front door recently by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 1:32pm)
  • I know, I had a good look around at people debating whether the 2003 Land Reform Act trumped that and the just seemed to be that no, it’s still illegal but the cops don’t care and very few people are pulled up. I just wanted to gauge local opinion since I see quite a lot of it round my way. I’m suspecting it’s because the pavements on my street are a bit wider and I’m somewhere between GWR and the canal so it’s folk sneaking up towards there I’m seeing. by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 1:36pm)
  • Ooh, maybe my street is one of those? I’m going to have to investigate, thanks for the info But yeah, I feel you. Even if it’s for a fleeting moment as you pass nobody wants to be the subject of somebody’s anger by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 1:40pm)
  • If you don’t mind, is there a place you know of that you can see which paths etc are ok to cycle on? I’m struggling.. I can see maps of cycle lanes and the like but not this? by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 1:57pm)
  • Thank you, I’ll try and figure that one out before I stick a helmet on 👍 by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 2:22pm)
  • Thanks, at least I know I’ve not just gotten irrationally sensitive, haha So far I reckon opinions seem split, maybe leaning slightly more towards not really being bothered. I’m going to try to find places I can reach on foot where I can cycle legally until I’m a bit more confident. Despite what Johnny here seems to think, I think it would be much more irresponsible and dangerous for me to hop on the road with a kid on my bike right now by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 3:01pm)
  • Quiet Ewe x by No_Danger (Fri 27th Nov 2020 6:29pm)
  • Yeah, wondering the same. My house is by a school so when they’re open the whole street is flooded with litter. I’ve thought about going out and picking it up but my bin is already overflowing by collection day by No_Danger (Mon 1st Feb 2021 5:18pm)
  • I had a similar issue a few years back, I lay a speaker on the floor and every time the fighting started up I’d play WAR ’ ‘why can’t we be friends?’ (https://youtu.be/5jnZMW8C6wA) on repeat and bugger off out. It’s a bit of a nuclear option because you’ll likely annoy your other neighbours but it was more fun than constantly banging on their door by No_Danger (Sat 6th Mar 2021 12:12pm)
  • Top end, Waterstones is good: It’s not a trek to get to off the street, it’s a single room so no company and it’s not a place people usually think to go for a toilet so nobody waiting for you to come out by No_Danger (Mon 11th Oct 2021 9:55am)
  • Yeah, I was shown (without knowing what I was seeing) footage of what was apparently a ‘revenge attack’, they’re all quite obviously children in the video. Devastating, heartbreaking stuff. by No_Danger (Sun 17th Oct 2021 11:44pm)
  • I was in the borders as a kid and called it a scramble, scatter sounds a little, well, scatological to me by No_Danger (Thu 16th Dec 2021 11:38am)
  • I had to live in Largs for a year or so a wee while back. I’m previously from a town with absolutely nothing going on and I (a mid 30s woman) found Largs incredibly boring. It’s pretty in the summer but absolutely nothing happening there, very cliquey. Not worse than any other small town I suppose but I wouldn’t recommend it. Transport also a nightmare - trains cancelled through the winter for leaves on the line and in the summer because the track was too hot?! All that said, I work with a lady who lives just outside of Largs and she doesn’t seem too bothered by the commute - as long as you’re working in the west part of the city by No_Danger (Thu 23rd Feb 2023 9:12pm)
  • https://app.letsget.scot/ This app is good for resources in Glasgow. Plenty of LGBT/ youth/ MH options to pick from organised by area of the city Hope this helps by No_Danger (Wed 12th Jul 2023 6:14pm)
