  • That is a good budget for a flat, I recommend checking a few letting agents, I use Martin & Co. S1 homes, gumtree, rightmove, zoopla etc. All good property sites. I would do it soon though as if the flat isnt empty, you might have to wait for it to be. by Viking1886 (Mon 8th Apr 2019 4:28pm)
  • Rock n' Roll tattoo in the city centre have a lot of artists who all do different styles and are extremely high quality. That's where I get all mine done including colour realism, traditional, japanese and the like so plenty of options. by Viking1886 (Wed 17th Apr 2019 4:47pm)
  • I was in a similar situation but managed to avoid it so I have been where you are. As the top commenter helpfully advises, register as homeless immediately, do not tell them you have somewhere to live as they wont bother with you until you are actually on the street. They will put you in a shelter for a week or so for somewhere to live and then look to place you somewhere asap. Time is essential, the sooner you tell them you are already on the street, the faster your name makes it up the list. Good luck to you man, I would hate to see you on the streets. by Viking1886 (Tue 14th May 2019 2:23pm)
  • My sister got one removed mostly and then covered up the remaining faint outline with another tattoo. She said it hurt a lot and blistered after each session but got the desired results. Rock n' Roll tattoo near the trongate does it. No harm in dropping in or calling them for a little more info and maybe some pictures of results. by Viking1886 (Mon 9th Sep 2019 3:19pm)
  • I was in a similar position. Contact the homeless number straight away as mentioned by others. When you go, they will ask if youve friends or anyone can help you couch surf. Essentially unless youre sleeping in a bus shelter, you wont get immediate help unless you are female and/or have kids as these are deemed high risk vulnerability, so make it clear you are looking for benches to sleep on tonight. You will have to stay in a shelter for at least a week. I know people who just showed up to check in each day then went couch surfing for the week because it was safer than a homeless shelter in Paisley. Once you've been in the shelter at least a week, they will place you in emergency housing. Make sure you get your name on the council housing list asap too as you are likely to go on the list a lot higher than someone living at home or renting. Of course it does largely depend on who you speak to but the above was my personal experience. If you have any money spare at all, it might be worth looking for super cheap hotel or hostel deals online if you can find anywhere open. I hope it works out for you, its a really scary situation to be in but you'll get through it stronger. Good luck! by Viking1886 (Sun 16th Aug 2020 12:19pm)
  • Finnieston Franchi McWilliams in the city centre are pretty good and they didn't charge me for submitting many a failed offer. Plenty I can recommend you avoid though. by Viking1886 (Wed 26th Aug 2020 4:23pm)
  • I had a flat rate of £18 using City Cars from the airport to the west end. Private hire is your best bet. by Viking1886 (Wed 9th Sep 2020 11:13am)
  • Can confirm it's short. It's about 5 multiple choice questions for anyone no sure. by Viking1886 (Thu 1st Oct 2020 12:26pm)
  • Timpsons will do it. There's one at Asda Govan and another couple in the city centre. by Viking1886 (Mon 19th Oct 2020 11:41am)

  • If only there was some sort of system where they could charge people living in the area a small fee, a 'tax' if you will, to put toward organising some paid individuals to go around and collect this rubbish for everyone. Maybe they could look into something like this? Does anyone know of any other countries who might do something as radical as this? by Viking1886 (Sat 13th Mar 2021 5:19pm)
  • Is THAT what that is? I thought we paid that so we could get more potholes on the roads and extra spray paint on public buildings? by Viking1886 (Sat 13th Mar 2021 5:52pm)
  • Easy Lets 4 U will try and charge you to repair damage they point out when you are viewing the place. Never really had an issue with Martin & Co. by Viking1886 (Thu 15th Apr 2021 9:22am)
  • Oh right. I go through the one in Glasgow so I'm not sure how connected they are with staff/behaviours etc. Everyone will have bad experiences with letting agents. It's probably best to go with the least worst and hope it works out. by Viking1886 (Thu 15th Apr 2021 11:12am)
  • But how else would one continue their murder spree without witnesses? by Viking1886 (Sun 25th Jul 2021 1:35pm)
  • I lived there very briefly. The upstairs flat was used as a party flat so music from 3pm until 6am every day without fail, you hear everyone using the bin chute and quite often they are set on fire, there were students or alcoholics or both running up and down the corridors every day and night, I would hear my door handle being rattled every weekend by someone trying to get in, possibly as every door and floor looks the same so easy to lose your way when drunk and many more complaints, all of which meant I moved out after 4 months. I moved to Dennistoun and ended up in a close with 2 junkies and 1 junkie hooker so it really can just be your luck sometimes. I found a lot of the more well off folk stayed right near the top floors which were quiter so apologies I haven't been much use with this reply. by Viking1886 (Thu 29th Jul 2021 1:54pm)

  • Especially if you bring it up in front of her partner who is away during the day. Can't imagine that conversation will be fun so she should stop fairly quickly. by Viking1886 (Wed 13th Oct 2021 11:10am)
  • It's not sold out, you can still buy tickets. by Viking1886 (Thu 25th Nov 2021 6:37pm)
  • Granted in his van he sells everything apart from alcohol but he's basically a mini corner shop on wheels. Ice cream is an added bonus but he makes his money from marking up everything else for an example glass bottle of irn bru is £2 when in a shop it's £1.20. fags are £1.50 dearer from him but then he's providing a service. by Viking1886 (Mon 13th Dec 2021 2:31pm)
  • DELETED Best Kebab. by Viking1886 (Wed 15th Dec 2021 12:39pm)
  • I see your point but when I lived alone for a while, Christmas day alone in my flat with a takeaway and entertainment I want (movies, xbox, streaming etc.) Was some of the best Christmases I've had. It just depends if OP is naturally introverted or not I suppose but it can go either way depending on personal preference. by Viking1886 (Tue 21st Dec 2021 9:41am)
  • I booked a tattoo to get a Japanese style mask thing done and sent a number of pictures of one I wanted. Paid the deposit and about a week before it, they phoned to say the artist wasn't available anymore but they had a guest artist coming in who specialised in that style and they would give me about half off if I booked with him instead. Gave me his name and instagram thing so I checked his stuff out, it looked good and I was getting a full day for £400 because of the change. Thought that was great so booked it. On the day, I'm getting the tattoo and it's near the end, the shops closing and the receptionist guy comes over and asks if I can settle up so he can close the till and makes a big point of telling me it's £800 total, so £600 to pay. This was the 5th time I had been and never once had he done that which was odd. I then had to more or less argue with him that I was told half that whilst the guy was still tattooing me hearing that his days work was given away half price in front of the other artists and customers still going before he stormed off and the other receptionist confirmed that I was right. They also didn't tell him what I wanted and it was not his style at all so had to compromise the day of. Didn't get what I wanted either so I haven't been back since sadly. by Viking1886 (Thu 13th Jan 2022 8:08pm)
  • DELETED I work in the property industry and deal with every solicitor I've seen named in this thread daily. My recommendation would be Finnieston Franchi McWilliams in the city centre. I would highly suggest avoiding Gilson Gray and Miller Beckett and Jackson if they come onto your radar. Good luck! by Viking1886 (Mon 24th Jan 2022 5:23pm)
