  • The Savoy is a lot better since all the shops selling pictures of Su Pollard in an Andy Warhol print style fucked off out of it. by __scarebear__ (Thu 21st Jul 2022 10:56pm)
  • Oh and don't lug your bike onto the pedestrian bit, that's insane. by __scarebear__ (Mon 25th Jul 2022 3:39pm)
  • Stay in on the left and people have no bother passing you. I freewheel down to gather speed and then change gears til it's comfortable to cycle up. It's not easy though! Took me a few months to get used to the incline particularly southbound. I've always tried to stop people coning down the wrong way (if safe) and tell them. Sometimes works. With them locking the doors again those people might be less common now as you have to buzz to get in. by __scarebear__ (Mon 25th Jul 2022 3:38pm)
  • I saw a human poo once, how dare you say there's nothing to look at. by __scarebear__ (Mon 25th Jul 2022 3:50pm)
  • And the "[insert young team] are paedos" graffiti is always fun to read. On the northbound one there was a spate of intense social justice graffiti a while back that I enjoyed. by __scarebear__ (Mon 25th Jul 2022 4:00pm)

  • Is there a gesture that does more heavy lifting than the "oops mate nearly killed you my bad!" little wave of a driver to a cyclist who's sitting in a puddle of their own adrenaline while they merrily fuck off at 30mph? by __scarebear__ (Wed 31st Aug 2022 9:00pm)
  • They have a real cycling infrastructure in Germany though. by __scarebear__ (Thu 1st Sep 2022 8:58am)
  • You're right. I've always had this theory that Brits are born thinking they're in a queue for something (undefined) so they get very angry when other people seem to be ahead of them getting something they're not, eg moving faster through traffic. So they get really angry about what they're missing out on. by __scarebear__ (Thu 1st Sep 2022 1:41pm)
  • I love the really rude French guy there who hates it and complains all the time when you buy anything from him. by __scarebear__ (Sat 3rd Sep 2022 4:52pm)

  • I'm sorry to hear this. It sounds like you're close to being overwhelmed. When I've been there I've found it helpful to just release the thoughts, like opening a pressure valve. It doesn't solve it but it's enough to give some room to think about other things and breathe. It sounds hopeful you've got help coming. Hold on to that. In the meantime there are loads of people and orgs who can listen. Try one a day until help comes, maybe just to release that constant pressure of the thoughts? - The Samaritans have a walk in place at 210 W George St 9am-10pm every day. Or you can call them on 116123 for free. - Breathing Space is on the phone on 0800 838587 - HOPELINE UK is another phone service on 0800 0684141 or you can text them on 07786 039957, you don't have to say who you are or where you are. - NHS24 can offer advice on 111. Hold on, mate. It's awful but talking can just keep you going day to day, one at a time. X by __scarebear__ (Thu 15th Sep 2022 4:48pm)
