  • They really do, the constant Airbnb parties every weekend are a bit of a bummer too, but; hopefully this new factor will come in and sort it out for us! I think a watch this space is needed and I’ll come back in six months and hopefully tell you how great the block is now πŸ˜‚ by bugsy431 (Fri 7th May 2021 7:58am)

  • The problem now is the factor himself, we’ve still got a few bad apples who don’t pay the fees blah blah but always going to get that, the factor himself refuses to do anything and blames the residents for it when it goes shit, also mega rude to tenants for no reason πŸ™ƒ by bugsy431 (Mon 10th May 2021 7:48am)
  • We’re currently voting out our factor, feel free to AMA and I’ll do my best to help :) by bugsy431 (Wed 2nd Jun 2021 7:50am)
  • It’d be up to your residents committee or incoming factor, the factor should oversee the common account, it doesn’t belong to them. Worth having a read of your title deeds though to ensure there’s no unforeseen loopholes by bugsy431 (Thu 3rd Jun 2021 7:16pm)
  • A friend of mine used to rent in Dumbarton just next to the school. Nightlife (pre Covid) was alright ish, mid size town vibes. Good transport links to Glasgow and Helensburgh. Would definitely recommend sticking in glasgow though, Loch Lomonds still only 40 ish mins on the train 🀭 by bugsy431 (Tue 13th Jul 2021 1:05pm)

  • My missus came over from Aus and used Monzo. She’s not complained; unfortunately she’s struggled with most high street banks due to the intricacies of not having a credit score in the UK/UK Address history by bugsy431 (Wed 15th Sep 2021 11:08pm)
  • Ideal mate, thanks for that! I’ll have a shop around and see what I can get once my moving dates set in stone! by bugsy431 (Thu 16th Sep 2021 8:26am)
  • Nah I did normal lessons 5 years ago for 15 hours, then failed my theory and I was in the navy so ended up at sea and it went to the back burner, they give you a lesson initially to see what stage your at and then they recommend; they give a realistic and best expectation; so for me; He said I could pass in 10 hours, but he’d recommend 20 to iron out some bad habits (not checking before pulling off etc) they’re very good and no swindling πŸ˜‚ by bugsy431 (Wed 6th Oct 2021 12:39pm)
  • I’ve booked with Pass4u, highly recommend, cheaper than most and good instructor (I’m on a 1 week, 25 hour course) by bugsy431 (Wed 6th Oct 2021 12:35pm)
  • Some rumblings about it on nextdoor.com; apparently the policia are after them but 🀷🏻‍♂️ by bugsy431 (Sun 24th Oct 2021 9:28am)
  • They don’t need to be deputised. This isn’t America. The Chief Constable of Scotland has made a mutual aid request to the home office for the duration of COP. Under PACE (I believe) and the police act, when a request is made from a warranted Constable, to another Constable, the powers the asking Constable holds are given temporarily to the asked Constable, meaning; The Met & other Home Office and Special constabularies (BTP, MoD Police & CNC) has as much jurisdiction as PolScot to enforce laws within Scotland. You need to be careful with what you’re saying; it’s very incorrect and it’ll earn you some shiny new bracelets for breaching the peace or preventing a Constable in the lawful act of duty etc. by bugsy431 (Sun 7th Nov 2021 10:33pm)
  • Use the website; tells you exactly when you were jabbed and also has a printable page https://vacs.nhs.scot/csp by bugsy431 (Tue 16th Nov 2021 10:35am)
  • Depends what they ask for, if they ask for a crate, why not. Extremely hard to get alcohol poisoning off it, but if they ask for spirits or fags it’s a hard no from me. Not having some wean getting his/her stomach pumped because I got them some voddy 🀷🏻‍♂️ by bugsy431 (Sat 20th Nov 2021 10:52pm)
  • Scottish cooperative wholesale society? At a guess? by bugsy431 (Mon 22nd Nov 2021 9:15pm)
  • Agree with this, that BTP text service is amazing, had to use it a few times down south and the police were waiting at the next station, nicked them all got them all off at the following station, no problems or hassle by bugsy431 (Thu 25th Nov 2021 9:43am)
  • British govt tried to do away with the BTP completely and bring it into the Home Office fold not long ago, it failed due to the realisation they’d have to recruit a lot more and pay them just as much, BTP recruit starting wage is shameful compared to PolScot and most home office forces. They need to up their pay for the shit they deal with by bugsy431 (Thu 25th Nov 2021 12:34pm)

  • As the New ones in the building, the etiquette is for you to receive the gifts, however there is absolutely nothing to obligate neighbours to give you a gift. When I moved in to my first gaff in the centre, I got a bottle of wine from my next door neighbour and a hello from the remainder in the corridor, when I moved to my next gaff in Clydebank I got some teabags and a couple of cans from my neighbours. Use it as a guide for how much they want to be friendly; if they go all out with a gift, a card and that they probably want to be friends, if they do nothing, they probably want to live their lives and the interaction you’ll get will be a hey in the stairs/lifts. by bugsy431 (Sat 26th Mar 2022 11:57am)
