  • Hey! I first went to my GP about my mental health when I was mid 20s, and it was really scary. I cried my eyes out. Even realising I had a problem with my mental health was very upsetting. However, I confronted my fears. I’ve been to the GP for poor mental health few times since, and I’ve normalised it because the truth is your mental health is just as important as your physical health. And we are just as likely to have mental ailments as we are physical ones. Maybe make a wee list before you go of the key issues. And don’t be afraid to cry. They are well used to that. You’re going to be okay. by catchyusername4867 (Mon 23rd Sep 2019 3:06pm)

  • Heck. I sat down on a bench today. My boyfriend was running, I was walking, and I finished before him so I sat on a bench for 5 minutes to wait for him before going home (together). I may well have been one of the people you saw. Perhaps I was a bit careless today. I’m sorry. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 19th Apr 2020 5:44pm)
  • But distance CANNOT be contained if all the residents of Dennistoun go to Alexandra Park to sunbathe at the same time. And when 2 people go do it, another 2 people see it and think it’s okay to do, so they do it too. And so on and so forth. Much like the spread of a virus. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 19th Apr 2020 5:41pm)
  • That is helpful! Thank you. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 19th Apr 2020 6:45pm)
  • Hey there. I’d recommend making friends at the gym. It’s great for your health and doesn’t require drinking alcohol. When you see the same people all the time you naturally will start to say hello, or you could ask for a hand moving something heavy. You might have a chat in the changing room, discuss workouts, food, how you’re feeling, what you’re up to for the rest of the day etc. After a few weeks/months you might add them on Instagram or Facebook. From there you can send memes to them you think they’ll like, or comment on what they’re up to saying “that looks good” etc. The usual stuff. I’ve made a few friends this way. Good luck. by catchyusername4867 (Mon 20th Apr 2020 9:25am)
  • Hi! Sorry, I’m at the other end of Glasgow in the East End. Just wondering what brought you to Glasgow, and if you’re enjoying it? :) by catchyusername4867 (Fri 22nd May 2020 10:14am)
  • This is really good advice :) I was thinking “nah you don’t need anyone’s permission” but this is even better! Making pals. As someone else said, the elderly neighbour would probably love to see a wee one playing in the garden. by catchyusername4867 (Fri 29th May 2020 11:39am)
  • You could word it nicely like “Just letting you know I’m planning to take the wee one to the garden to play in the paddling pool today, hope that’s okay” instead of directly asking is it okay yes or no. I’m a shitebag, if my neighbour said no I probably wouldn’t do it as I wouldn’t want to make enemies. by catchyusername4867 (Fri 29th May 2020 2:57pm)

  • I live on the same street as a lodge, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings you can hear them practising their drums and flutes and the like. Absolute nightmare to get parked. Friday/Saturday nights can be loud due to functions but usually disperse around midnight. Orange walks go by my place in the summer too, but it’s not very early. It slows traffic down a bit. I am opposed to all of the above but have to say it doesn’t really impact my life. by catchyusername4867 (Thu 13th Aug 2020 4:48pm)

  • Location location location. You can always recreate the vibes of your lovely flat somewhere else. There are some nice wee bits of Dennistoun for example, practically city centre but (mostly) away from what you described. You only have one life, be happy! Why should you ride the wave all the while feeling unsafe in your own home? You deserve better. If you’re in the financial position to move, go for it. Glasgow’s a fantastic city, don’t let a few bad apples ruin it. Good luck. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 22nd Nov 2020 9:52am)

  • Is it just me who thinks the Rangers fans are to blame? They shouldn’t need babysat by the football team they support, or the local government, or the police. It should be their good sense to not go to George Square and use memorial benches as bouncy castles. I despair. by catchyusername4867 (Tue 9th Mar 2021 9:04pm)
  • “One of the greatest modern day sporting achievements” so Rangers FC are up there with Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, Cristiano Ronaldo? Actual lol. by catchyusername4867 (Tue 9th Mar 2021 8:59pm)
  • C’mon, be realistic. It’s Scottish football. It’s not the highest standard of sport. The players don’t have world class standards of fitness or skill. It’s still an achievement for sure, in the context of Scottish football. by catchyusername4867 (Wed 10th Mar 2021 9:44am)

  • Hi everyone. Are we allowed to post stolen bikes on here? My boyfriend’s bike got stolen in Dennistoun last night. It was securely chained up in the close. Bastards! by catchyusername4867 (Sun 25th Apr 2021 2:00pm)
  • Really? Is that the norm? by catchyusername4867 (Sun 25th Apr 2021 3:12pm)

  • Around £600. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 25th Apr 2021 3:11pm)
  • Understand what you’re saying but they didn’t smash the iron bit. Close bars are completely intact, they somehow got thorough the lock. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 25th Apr 2021 3:52pm)
  • Yep we realise that now this has happened. 4 other bikes kept in the close were left untouched so we feel really unlucky. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 25th Apr 2021 4:07pm)
  • Got through the lock, don’t know how. It wasn’t a traditional padlock it was like a collapsible circle thing connecting the bike to the close bannister. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 25th Apr 2021 7:52pm)
  • Thanks for the optimism pal! You never know, we could get it back. Let’s stay hopeful. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 25th Apr 2021 7:51pm)

  • You are making a LOT of assumptions based on very little information. And if someone gives you different information to what you’ve already assumed you just say “nah, I’m probably right, and you’re a wanker”. I think you should learn to accept you don’t always know the most about every situation. by catchyusername4867 (Thu 29th Apr 2021 3:06pm)

  • The amount of people who come off the M80 and are taking the 3rd exit to lead to Bishopbriggs. But they go in the lane for the retail park then zoom across the white lines at the last second! Infuriates me! by catchyusername4867 (Thu 29th Apr 2021 3:30pm)
  • How can you possibly think you know my neighbours better than I do? That’s insane. by catchyusername4867 (Thu 29th Apr 2021 7:11pm)
  • Ok. Some people think it’s “inconsiderate and wanky”, other people don’t care 😂 Let’s just agree to disagree. I’m sure we both have better things to do than arguing with strangers on the internet. I wish you all the best. by catchyusername4867 (Fri 30th Apr 2021 2:10pm)
  • 😂😂😂 the correct answer. by catchyusername4867 (Fri 30th Apr 2021 9:30pm)
  • I personally don’t believe it’s Rangers FC’s fault or the police’s fault. The people who made that mess are grown adults who should know better. It’s not up to Rangers FC or the police or the government or anyone else to babysit them. Every person who dropped litter, urinated in people’s doorways, smashed bottles and all of the other disgusting behaviours carried out yesterday are entitled, selfish, “it’s no ma joab” - mentality sorry excuse for Glaswegians who need to grow tf up and stop embarrassing the rest of us. These people need to learn a bit of personal responsibility. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 16th May 2021 11:21am)
  • Whaaat?! I grew up in Bishopbriggs and this sounds distinctly un-Bishopbriggs-y. I now live in Dennistoun which on paper is way rougher than Bishopbriggs but I’ve never had any of the stuff you’re describing. It’s not perfect, but it’s good. I think you’ve been really unlucky. by catchyusername4867 (Tue 18th May 2021 1:51pm)
  • Pub? by catchyusername4867 (Tue 1st Jun 2021 3:29pm)
  • 100% agree. I don’t know who I hate more. The selfish pricks who do this or the daft pricks who let them in. by catchyusername4867 (Wed 9th Jun 2021 8:02am)
  • Hey! Sorry to hear about your break up. I hope you’re okay. I’ve got a wardrobe and a desk I’m getting rid of. Can give you the measurements if you like. They are both pretty big and have excellent storage. However - they will need partially dismantled to get them out my flat. And when being put back together they may need a few extra screws here and there to hold together sturdily. So yeah you may need a man with a van and or a handyman, it’s not an ideal offer I know but worth a mention. by catchyusername4867 (Tue 27th Jul 2021 8:26pm)
  • Alright all the best :) by catchyusername4867 (Wed 28th Jul 2021 10:05am)

  • I do know what you mean. It’s the same on River City and it’s cringe. It’s a really unnatural way of speaking. Just talk normal and concede that not everyone will know 100% what you’re saying. That’s what’s subtitles are for. In fairness to the guys, that is their normal speaking voices (they aren’t particularly well spoken, especially George). I think it’s the acting letting them down, not their voices. by catchyusername4867 (Thu 9th Sep 2021 1:22pm)

  • My favourite band is also Chvrches. Hello. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 29th May 2022 8:21pm)
  • Of course. Nice choices! A bit unusual. My favourite is Get Out, closely followed by Final Girl. And 3rd place goes to Graffiti. Their new album was a grower, I wasn’t immediately taken but now I absolutely love it, totally think it’s their best work. What’s your thoughts? by catchyusername4867 (Mon 30th May 2022 9:04pm)
  • It’s greater Glasgow (does that count?) but there’s a couple of houses in the outskirts of Bishopbriggs (nearly Torrance) a short walk from Cadder Church. It’s a beautiful area, such a quiet countryside feeling, and the houses are stunning. Long driveways, huge gardens, but the entire surrounding area is woodland too. I’d live there. Sigh… by catchyusername4867 (Tue 31st May 2022 8:16am)
  • Sorry to hear that. My boyfriend’s bike got stolen last year and it was a real shite day. I hope you get yours back, you never know :) by catchyusername4867 (Mon 6th Jun 2022 4:57pm)
  • If you think “Black Lives Matter” automatically infers that white lives DON’T matter then you don’t understand the sentiment. by catchyusername4867 (Sun 31st Jul 2022 11:02am)
  • Absolutely right. Yeah, when I see people saying “all lives matter” I’m kinda like, yeah... Exactly 😂 they do. So why do black people consistently suffer injustice.. etc. They SHOULD all matter, but seemingly they don’t, hence the phrase. Anyway, I know you already know all this. Just conversating :) by catchyusername4867 (Sun 31st Jul 2022 1:23pm)
