  • Same, we used to travel back to Renfrew. The last thing you need after a long flight, a long queue, often landing at stupid o clock with wee kids and loads of baggage is a torn faced prick who clearly grudges the short fare. by chuill (Sat 15th Oct 2022 6:50pm)

  • About 30 years ago vandals broke into Dean Castle park in Kilmarnock. It had a small petting zoo at the time. They killed dozens of small animals and birds, some of the little aviary birds had their heads stuffed through the mesh fencing. Tame ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs - slaughtered. I still can't get over this. by chuill (Sun 13th Nov 2022 2:04pm)

  • Thought I'd come back and update (rare thing these days!) We ended up in Kastriot's Mediterranean in Baillieston - the grub was stupendous! Youngest had the Prosecco Salmon Tagliatelle and the oldest had some chilli mussels thing. Him and I shared a mixed grill and pizza between us. Portions were massive. Would recommend. by chuill (Sun 1st Jan 2023 10:08pm)

  • Not religious, but I am brown. My ex was staunch Rangers and going by his family I'm bloody surprised he was 'allowed' to be with me. Some of the shit I heard spouted by his dad, uncles etc over the years - always followed by a "but no you hen, you're awright" was shocking. Any racist abuse I had growing up was from Rangers fans (I was brought up in North Ayrshire.. .) I feel safer in the company of Celtic fans. by chuill (Wed 1st Mar 2023 9:24am)
  • I'm a Bajan woman. Why in the fuck would I support a Scottish football team? Your reply pretty much reveals your true colours and I'm frankly surprised you put put your flute down long enough to hit the keyboard. by chuill (Sat 4th Mar 2023 10:49pm)

  • Any record holder is going to attract interest, especially amongst enthusiasts like my wee one. Not everybody will get to board one, for one it doesn't fly to my destinations of choice from Glasgow/Manc, but friends of mine who frequent Dubai and travel first class state that the experience is vastly different to an A320 or 737... and I'd expect it to be pretty incomparable to a twotter... by chuill (Sun 26th Mar 2023 10:01pm)

  • Definitely head for the Ayrshire coast. by chuill (Fri 21st Jul 2023 12:26pm)
  • Been three times and it got progressively worse each visit. I didnt even want to go the last time but my daughter was desperate to try it. The food quality is bad - even for a buffet. The chicken is tough and inedible in every dish. The sauces are bland. It's all quantity over quality. Most people were feasting on the mussels, high value item so getting their money's worth. I don't like mussels so that wasn't an option for me. Standouts were the veg pakora and the garlic naan... Cosmo is much better, and if you can get yourself along to Uddingston (Bellshill end) then the Golden Grouse has tasty food. by chuill (Wed 26th Jul 2023 6:31pm)

  • My friends and I happened upon a few crates of empties outside our local shop. We took them in two at a time repeatedly until the guy who was supposed to be loading them into the van realised, mid chin-wag with the shop owner what we were up to. This was once we'd interrupted his conversation for the fourth time to *buy* more 10p mix ups. by chuill (Mon 31st Jul 2023 5:14pm)
  • Was it brown assailants by any chance because every so often our local fb page has a story about someone's kid almost being dragged into a car by 'Two Asian men.' I've seen it shared maybe about 30 times in my days on social media, and that's just within a 20 mile radius. Never white guys. The child ALWAYS screams and struggles and gets away. Thank fuck eh! There's never a registration or photograph. Very odd, it's almost like folk are making it up to stir up hate or something! by chuill (Sat 5th Aug 2023 4:14pm)

  • Screw The Camels My now husband and I on our first ever holiday together, many many years ago. Counting out the last of our pesetas to see if we could afford the camel trek AND one last piss up. Alas it was one or the other..... by chuill (Mon 7th Aug 2023 8:45pm)
  • If you've got your green card then honestly just go round sites and try to speak to as many contracters as you can. They don't always advertise on job sites. Maybe worth calling the likes of Morgan Sindall, George Leslie, Roadlay etc, defo ask if anyone is looking on local fb pages too. Best of luck. by chuill (Thu 10th Aug 2023 8:25pm)
  • P.S When's your leaving do? by chuill (Fri 11th Aug 2023 9:32pm)
  • Where are you from originally? I was born in Glasgow, never strayed too far (couple of shires away, tops) Travelled the world, honestly love most places for what they are - warts and all. Except Edinburgh. Still work in town. Still get an absolute buzz hopping off the train into the unapologetic grit of the city centre. Glasgow is Glasgow. It doesn't need to be pretentious or play to daft stereotypes. Any tourist with the slightest of smarts knows what to expect. 44 years on this earth living, working and playing in Glasgow and Not Once have I personally had a bad experience. Aye, there's junkies. They're everywhere believe it or not. Not Glasgow's fault. It can be manky, but look past that - Paris does, Athens too.... The music, arts, restaurants, PEOPLE, architecture, history.... no city in the country comes close. I love my city and I'd never say anything to put a tourist off. by chuill (Fri 11th Aug 2023 9:32pm)

  • Was a hold up getting in once due to checks and we had to stand outside waiting for ages. A car alarm went off nearby and the queue went wild. by chuill (Tue 12th Sep 2023 7:58am)
  • No. Wtf. I'm trying to ascertain why it would have made a difference to this couple if the dog was an assistance animal or not. Clearly allergies or phobia are not a problem as the dog was doing what the dog was going to do in the table adjacent to where they were going to sit regardless. by chuill (Sat 23rd Sep 2023 8:30pm)
  • But this couple were happy to take their seats when assured it was a guide dog. So presumed stench or not - what difference does it make? by chuill (Sat 23rd Sep 2023 8:44pm)
  • This isn't in the least bit conversational. Are you like this in 'real life'? by chuill (Sat 23rd Sep 2023 8:42pm)
  • This makes the most sense. by chuill (Sat 23rd Sep 2023 8:41pm)
  • Aye but do guide dogs smell any less than regular dogs? The elderlies seemed quite happy to sit when reassured it was a service animal. by chuill (Sat 23rd Sep 2023 9:17pm)
  • I wasn't asking for anyone's opinion on dogs in restaurants. It's irrelevant, as is mine. The amount of folk who've failed to actually read the question... by chuill (Sun 24th Sep 2023 3:58pm)
  • Yeah, this makes sense too. by chuill (Sun 24th Sep 2023 4:04pm)

  • Pardon? 👁💦👁 by chuill (Sun 5th Nov 2023 2:51pm)
  • No excuse not to desensitise your animal. Unless your dog is a rescue or has prior trauma it takes no time to get them used to whizz bangs. Problem is, everybody has dogs now and very few people invest the time in socialising or training them. by chuill (Sun 12th Nov 2023 8:15pm)
  • Take a look on online or consult a dog trainer. Wow. We had a cd when I was younger that we played at sporadic intervals, increasing in volume and then more regularly leading up to November. It worked with every single dog we had. by chuill (Sun 12th Nov 2023 9:14pm)
  • I don't currently have a dog but I've owned 9 over the years. The only one who was freaked out was a beagle cross with severe anxiety I took on and even at that he was able to be calmed to an extent with a combination of music and pheromones leading up to the 5th. My fil has always owned and trained GSD's and not one of them has ever had an issue. My neighbour has an assistance dog (border collie) for her epilepsy and weirdly she sleeps through fireworks because she's been trained. There's no denying that very few people take responsibility or even consider desensitising their frenchies or cockapoos or whatever the latest trend in dogs is. It doesn't cross anyone's mind until November then they are all over the local Facebook groups calling for a ban. by chuill (Sun 12th Nov 2023 9:11pm)
  • So my ex ogs don't count? Have dogs changed in the 4 years since I last had one? by chuill (Sun 12th Nov 2023 9:19pm)

  • I have to confess.... I've never had a buttery... But now I must. With a couple of slices of Lurlak, six slices of bacon and a slice of cheese. What type of cheese? Plastic or cheddar? by chuill (Sun 19th Nov 2023 8:54pm)
