  • FUCK SCOTRAIL Been doing this route for 3 years now. I take the crosscountry train from Central at 7:48. its only £12 return and you can reserve a seat. It is longer journey, but, Its never delayed or has the issues that the scotrail trains usually have by cynical_response (Mon 7th Jan 2019 3:28pm)
  • just go to the crosscountry website, the scotrail website wont show it. [https://www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk/](https://www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk/) I leave central at 7:48 which gets me into Waverley just before 9. Departure is at 17:11 and gets me back to central for 18:12 by cynical_response (Tue 8th Jan 2019 5:03pm)
  • i think you can get a season ticket but ive never checked, I always just book my ticket in the morning as I walk to central (the cross country app is great and means I can use an e-ticket) I've been doing it for three years now so I barely notice it. I use the journey for chill out time and will either be reading, watching youtube premium/netflix or catching up on work. by cynical_response (Tue 8th Jan 2019 8:03pm)
  • have a great time. Im an outdoorsy type so would highly recommend getting into the hills by cynical_response (Wed 16th Jan 2019 2:00pm)

  • yeah the capacity is way too high, so its just full of fucking pedestrians who fancy going to a gig cos they liked that one song. I miss the days when you had to earn your tickets by getting up early or even the night before to join a queue outside virgin or the ticketmaster under the umbrella. by cynical_response (Sun 17th Feb 2019 1:03pm)
  • Kinda proving my point mate. if you consider waiting in line to see a band you like a waste of time then you probably shouldn't be at the gig by cynical_response (Sun 17th Feb 2019 1:36pm)
  • where by cynical_response (Wed 20th Feb 2019 2:43pm)

  • I’m currently doing automatic lessons with a really great instructor happy to share his details if you pm me. Also pro tip if you are doing your test at anniesland get public transport to the area otherwise you’ll be spending half the lesson getting to/from your pickup point which is a waste of money as you need to practice the set routes. I get the subway to Partick subway by cynical_response (Tue 16th Apr 2019 5:48pm)

  • No idea, I think they were there prior to the last street paint job. That area of town is just littered with them, with west princes street having the most [https://goo.gl/maps/vSbD9jFJXBiXmaEQ7](https://goo.gl/maps/vSbD9jFJXBiXmaEQ7) & [https://goo.gl/maps/5azqBd9rDEVwXGMW9](https://goo.gl/maps/5azqBd9rDEVwXGMW9) by cynical_response (Thu 16th May 2019 9:39am)
  • there are a few more on that street and are different in style, some are just large plant pots place directly onto road markings. There is no council branding on them and given the lack of uniformity in the styles of planters i think it is the locals. I'm buying into the path of least resistance here, nobody has complained and when the council road marking guys rocked up they just painted round them by cynical_response (Thu 16th May 2019 10:28am)
  • I have a pretty early start and am cutting down Buchanan street before the commute rush. The seagulls are always ripping up bin bags at that time of day, they must be the biggest cause of litter by cynical_response (Mon 22nd Jul 2019 6:44am)
  • I used to be the distribution manager for snapfax. They tried to expand across the UK and hired a bunch of people in every major city to distribute, but none of them ever got paid, the owner was such a dick by cynical_response (Wed 21st Aug 2019 3:08pm)
  • Mate I’m 32 and just passed after trying to learn on and off since school. Decided to cheat and just do automatic test then maybe do a manual once I’m more confident. • I’ve worked in offices all across Glasgow and spent the last four years in an old building that was falling apart, had small windows and was always drafts. Moved into a new build place recently with big windows and it’s just changed my mood at work, honestly wouldn’t work somewhere again unless at it has modern with lots of glass. I get what your saying, but, this is what businesses want for their staff. Council should challenge architects to be more creative with it though by cynical_response (Sun 5th Apr 2020 11:57pm)
  • Could go the sourdough starter route. You don’t need yeast to start as long as you don’t have bleached flour by cynical_response (Mon 6th Apr 2020 7:49am)
  • Sorry for the confusion but what I mean is that you can grow your own yeast, which is commonly referred to as a ‘sourdough starter’. Google that term for more info by cynical_response (Mon 6th Apr 2020 1:20pm)

  • Nah I wouldn’t say it’s always been awful. I’ve been commuting for ten years through central and it’s defo got progressively worse over that period. They should pedestrianise the bit in front of central during the day, it would remove the bottle neck issue and make it feel less claustrophobic by cynical_response (Sun 22nd Nov 2020 12:11am)
  • Are you talking about the big plastic plant pots. Last time I was walking around the city centre with my mum she was saying how they were ugly, didn’t have the heart to tell her they were obstacles to stop terrorists driving trucks through populated areas of the city centre by cynical_response (Sun 22nd Nov 2020 9:39am)

  • If you spend much time in England you quickly realise how much more densley populated it is. Lots of folk migrate for the isolation by cynical_response (Sat 28th Aug 2021 11:54am)
  • Seasoned mountaineer here. Camping on a summit is a great experience as long as you correctly forecast. You need to look at summit forecasts rather than just normal weather. For example, every 100m of ascent the temp drops by 1c so the typical Munro is 10c colder than the actual forecast, this increases likelyhood of precipitation by cynical_response (Sat 28th Aug 2021 12:33pm)
  • I lived their for two years, they call anyone who migrated their an 'incomer'. Every year they have a golf tournament, incomers Vs the inbred. There's a huge problem of affordability in the Highlands and Islands and it's actually effecting growth with some businesses having to house staff in caravans if they can afford to by cynical_response (Sat 28th Aug 2021 12:30pm)

  • I did my Aida free diving training at conger alley and loch fyne. We got bad weather so the vis was shite at Loch long, it can also get pretty busy with scuba folk. Otter ferry is a good spot on loch fyne, if you can get lunch booked at inver then there’s also some nice spots near the restaurant. The scuba lot were looking down their noses at us at conger alley until we rescued one of them lol by cynical_response (Thu 23rd Sep 2021 2:28pm)
