  • My wee brother works in maryhill and sings it’s praises daily - mins you he’s from a wee town where every second street is a dive.. so make of that what you will 😂 I love Glasgow but rarely venture out the city centre other than going to the hydro or unnamed football grounds.. and I’ve never felt anything other than 100% safe - and I’ll tell you that I don’t even feel safe walking down the local streets after dark. Strange times! by indiegirl1980 (Sun 23rd Jan 2022 8:51pm)
  • I’m a photographer, mind you I’m a wee bit away and wouldn’t have any way of getting there. Highly recommend pollee at kilted tripod, she’s on Facebook and Instagram. She’s based in airdrie but will travel. by indiegirl1980 (Wed 2nd Feb 2022 6:31pm)
  • Top of the lighthouse if it’s open! by indiegirl1980 (Thu 17th Feb 2022 5:09pm)
  • Ok here goes The lighthouse on Mitchell lane (think that’s the right street lol) Kelvingrove art gallery and museum University of Glasgow cloisters A walk down the Clyde to the transport museum Ride the subway it’s awesome fun Mural trail by indiegirl1980 (Sat 26th Feb 2022 2:44pm)
  • Not sure about escape rooms never tried them (though I want to) There’s a crazy golf place called jungle rumble on bath street that I’ve heard good things about 10 pin bowling - Hollywood bowl (over the river) Subway out to kelvingrove (some walking) same for the riverside which is actually pretty cool Dunno what side of Glasgow but go visit the football grounds if you’re into it? Shopping - spoilt. Buchanan galleries is my fave with st Enoch a close second. Also check out the duke and make sure his traffic cone is where it’s supposed to be 😂 by indiegirl1980 (Thu 3rd Mar 2022 8:38am)
  • Thank you, I’ll have a look online.. that tower has never been open when I’m up and I’ve not been to the lighthouse in around 4 years, it’ll be good to do something different though. by indiegirl1980 (Thu 7th Apr 2022 7:09pm)
  • They seem to have been plagued by problems with that tower, I’ve been trying to go since it opened and never had any luck yet 🙄 by indiegirl1980 (Fri 8th Apr 2022 8:11am)
  • Aye, that would be a no for me! by indiegirl1980 (Fri 8th Apr 2022 1:27pm)

  • Places to eat - what kind of food do you like? You can get the subway to ibrox from anywhere in the city centre - so you can stay pretty central (personally the premier inn, Buchanan galleries is my fave, ask for a room with a view and they’ll put you up at high as they can, the views are magic!) Subway is dirt cheap and so fast, best way to get around. Only been for football matches so can’t comment on music as the only stuff we hear comes out the speakers 😬😂 Ps if you like Indian food, check out charcoals in trongate or India quay 😋 by indiegirl1980 (Thu 14th Apr 2022 6:36pm)
  • Honestly, there are so many good places to eat in the city but I’m drooling just thinking about those 2 restaurants! Hope you enjoy your trip 😁 by indiegirl1980 (Thu 14th Apr 2022 8:58pm)

  • It’s a Celtic ring I’m looking for, not sure on style just nothing large as I have wee fingers, actually trying to get one in my size (J) would likely be a nightmare 😂 I’m not sure that ortaks is still nearby but I might have a wander in the argyle arcade. Thank you! by indiegirl1980 (Tue 17th May 2022 5:51pm)

  • Walking has helped me a lot. I know the weather is dire but 20-30 mins when you can squeeze it in. Just as I’m thinking about it I usually suffer really bad, this year my resolution was to get out walking more, my mental health overall and my SAD hasn’t been anywhere near as bad. And I’ve clocked up almost 1700 miles 🤣 definitely worth a try. by indiegirl1980 (Sun 18th Dec 2022 7:53am)
  • I totally agree, the idea of hitting the ice isn’t appealing in any way shape or form… I think it’s just having that bit or routine for me or in my case it’s more a coping mechanism, I always felt really claustrophobic at this time of year because it’s so dull but when it’s wet and windy I layer up (and likely look really stupid lol) put my earphones in and go for it. by indiegirl1980 (Sun 18th Dec 2022 12:36pm)
