  • I'm really not a fan of taxi drivers that need a sat-nav, regardless of their heritage. If you want to do a job properly then you could at least learn your trade correctly, you wouldn't see a sparky with an instruction manual on a job. by lukeyf88 (Wed 29th May 2019 8:54am)

  • Fully aware of the worlds problems and trying my best to contribute towards stopping the downwards trajectory. However, I certainly don't need to write essays and essays of waffling at people angrily on the internet. Concentrate on yourself pal, you're wasting your energy. • The amount of crime committed on the M8 is ridiculous, from speeding, mobile phone use and general careless driving that could endanger others is frankly shocking. I don't normally lose my cool with others but I do if I've got the little one in the car and people drive dangerously around us, can't understand what more I can do to try and get me and my child to our destination safely. Edit: I don't mean lose my cool, like go crazy but I find it gets to me more. I wouldn't react angrily with my child in the car. Poor wording. by lukeyf88 (Thu 18th Jul 2019 4:41pm)

  • I've never understood the Apple craze in Education, I like the fact they get kids to use technology which is so important to our lives in general. However the counter to this would be that no job in the real world requires you to have had iPad experience. So whilst a great idea, you're right - something cheaper and widely accessible in future endeavours would be a better way to spend money. by lukeyf88 (Tue 27th Aug 2019 3:23pm)
  • Usually not dealt with directly unless through government tendering processes but however if it's a hardware re-seller there's a maximum 12% discount that Apple pass onto their partners to then sell into Education making it affordable for end user but retaining their own margin. Faculty/Student purchases are a great idea! by lukeyf88 (Tue 27th Aug 2019 4:56pm)

  • Don't know why you're down voted but I think it's certainly something worth thinking about especially if you're a low mileage driver. That's the pitfalls of it unfortunately, the longer the cycle the more expensive it'll be as well. Go with your gut man, we'll all have to get one eventually! by lukeyf88 (Mon 23rd Sep 2019 11:20am)

  • They've always got deals on these things as well which is good. I find the offers sometimes a little off putting as it feels like they might be undervaluing the artists work, for example my Mrs got us a full day for £200.00 which seems ludicrously under priced but the work was quality so can't complain. by lukeyf88 (Thu 7th Nov 2019 2:34pm)

  • What's the job mate? Most places you can get away with a smart casual now, shirt/jumper/ overcoat type combo. Problem is with Slaters is that the suits look like they're from Slaters - I guess I'm trying to say suss it out and use your intuition. If it's a cool company then perhaps standing out from the usual navy suit/brown shoes might help and it'd save you splodging the dough. by lukeyf88 (Tue 19th Nov 2019 1:25pm)

  • I'd got my leg done here two years back and whilst the artist was brilliant and I'm delighted with their work, I can't help but feel the business as a whole is pretty poorly run. Constantly seeing reductions and sales online always makes me feel for the artists whose work seems to be undervalued by their bosses. I get you've got to try and get people through the door but I find the constant sales a bit undermining and cheapens their staffs contribution to the business. by lukeyf88 (Mon 14th Sep 2020 2:02pm)
  • Just a strange business model man, would be looking to go elsewhere moving forward. Quite happy someone recommended Toby's in this thread as that's near my house, so every cloud and all that! by lukeyf88 (Mon 14th Sep 2020 3:21pm)

  • Oh man, sorry about that! He fucking direct messaged me after I asked him to elaborate (I shouldn't have but felt it was too good an opportunity). I was then barraged with images of UK rainfall, most in Cornwall who again have had probably the lowest percentage of cases per population. Mind blown man. by lukeyf88 (Thu 22nd Oct 2020 11:00am)
  • Same happened with us, I assume they just claim it's not up to standard as there's nothing you can do about it after you've spent the dosh anyway. I know it's a bit current but I've seen enough recently, just feeling like I can't sit back and not do anything anymore. Best advice I can give is to go in with an open mind, these people are paid professionals who are there to help you and there’s never anything that can’t be fixed. Be open, be honest and be ready to take direction - you’ve already shown an amazing level of accountability to even get to this point so what’s a little more to give to ensure you get the best outcome. Shoulders back, get in there and smash it mate. 💪 by lukeyf88 (Tue 27th Jun 2023 3:54pm)

If all good, just get a test booked as some places can take ages and just keep having lessons in that area until the test. I found that the test was fairly routine, but you really had to accentuate your looking in mirrors and awareness. Good luck! by lukeyf88 (Wed 25th Oct 2023 4:04pm)
