  • Yeah we got it back and the building ended up with issues. There wasn't a cladding issue as it was mostly brick, but the seller/factor/builder may have to strip out a lot of the insulation and replace it. This could take years potentially so I think I'm going to look for somewhere else. by luv2belis (Fri 14th Aug 2020 6:54pm)
  • No no, the survey is done. It could take a year to replace the insulation which is what they found there might be an issue with. This is a specific issue for THIS building. by luv2belis (Fri 14th Aug 2020 7:10pm)

  • >I think some may be brick partitions but most will be solid sandstone between the flats. That's even better! My assumption was that just the exterior walls were sandstone because it looks so nice, but the internal supporting walls would be just normal brick. I think [this](https://i2-prod.dailyrecord.co.uk/incoming/article11355445.ece/ALTERNATES/s615b/JS133835512-1.jpg) might give some indication of what it's like. Although a small pic, it seems to be normal brick inside. by luv2belis (Thu 22nd Oct 2020 6:08pm)
  • Apologies I probably was unclear, there's an internal makeshift wall that was used to make a horrible tiny kitchen which I want to knock down. This is separate to the other wall which I want to expose. by luv2belis (Thu 22nd Oct 2020 6:19pm)
  • Fuck. by luv2belis (Thu 22nd Oct 2020 6:57pm)
  • Again I think I wasn't clear in my original post, the wall I want to take down is not brick, I'm pretty sure it's plasterboard (sounded very hollow when I knocked on it). I want to remove the plastering on (what I think is) a brick wall on an adjacent wall. Honestly I shouldn't have mentioned the wall I want to take down. by luv2belis (Thu 22nd Oct 2020 7:04pm)
  • Home report says circa 1900. It's one of the red sandstone ones, not the blond one. Yeah I've been watching videos and it seems long and hard, but not complicated. I could get someone in to do it, but I'd like to try. by luv2belis (Thu 22nd Oct 2020 7:17pm)

  • You actually get 2 votes, regional and constituency. Look up the D'Hondt voting system. As you're in Glasgow the SNP will probably win the constituency votes, resulting in heavy penalties on the regional vote, which means SNP on the regional is most likely a wasted vote (as is the greens on the constituency vote). To maximise the two parties you suggested SNP on constituency and green on regional. by luv2belis (Fri 9th Apr 2021 12:51pm)

  • Tell me about it. I had an offer accepted just before lockdown and it fell through because of the cladding issue (dodged a bullet there). Then after the first lockdown ended I had an offer accepted on a flat (only 2% above HR) that I wasn't too crazy about, but I'm really glad I did now. I've done a lot of work to it and it's starting to look nice, albeit quite small. by luv2belis (Thu 20th May 2021 12:09pm)

  • Funnily enough I came across this exact same thing when I was doing my bathroom. And yes this is a fully functional pipe that supplies the flat. I contacted Scottish water and they've given me bottles I need to fill after 8 hours of no water usage (so basically as soon as I get up). They then collect them and do tests - I still need to book this. If there are issues they said that it's up to the flat owners to replace which is going to be a huge pain in the arse to try and get 12 owners/landlords to get them replaced for this block. by luv2belis (Wed 18th May 2022 7:05pm)
