  • I would highly recommend Elizabeth Bandeen - she’s a literal wizard with tight knotty babies and shoulders by manypidgins (Tue 27th Aug 2019 8:21pm)
  • I'm with the above - plan on voting Green in a safe SNP seat with an outside chance from a TERF-y Labour candidate (which is a real shame because otherwise I could have been voting Labour as I like the Corbyn led manifesto) by manypidgins (Tue 10th Dec 2019 6:02pm)
  • Second Sprigg - its not quite martha's, but its tasty! Takeway only, I usually take it to the steps of GoMA if the weather isn't too bad by manypidgins (Thu 19th Dec 2019 11:50am)
  • Always look up! Glasgow has some seriously good secrets hidden on the surface by manypidgins (Thu 9th Jan 2020 3:46pm)

  • GCC have just taken Glasgow Life back into their fold from being arms length (ALEO) for years - which gives significant additional power to stop funding / reduce cultural opportunities in the city. Libraries, museums and community centres are valuable to the wider economy and every time there are studies done on the returns, they suggest that cultural venues give back more than they receive. I hope this is a cynical move to hide other funding cuts and that pedalling back on this publicly is their aim (to seem in touch with people's needs) but these are vital services and shouldn't be messed with. END RANT. by manypidgins (Thu 30th Jan 2020 12:42pm)
  • GL still exists and maintains control, but is now a much closer link with GCC and no longer truly an ALEO (source: have been working with GL on a number of projects in the past year) by manypidgins (Fri 31st Jan 2020 10:09am)

  • Yes, tonight has been constant... Plus today included calming my dog after seeing/hearing 3 rockets at *lunchtime* on Glasgow Green, took her ages to chill enough to do a wee... we were both pretty indignant! by manypidgins (Wed 4th Nov 2020 10:25pm)
  • Thanks! Keeping my fingers crossed but at this point I think it must have rolled into the road or deep in a bush by manypidgins (Wed 9th Dec 2020 2:44pm)
  • Honestly the council actually did engage in the formation (or supporting the formation) of a new housing association which compulsory purchased some of the worst offending landlords and is working to rehome those tenants in proper conditions - dealing with overcrowding and dilapidations particularly. That covered an area of four streets and has helped remove some the worst offending rogue landlords from the area. That’s not the only way they need to support. But some efforts are being taken both top down and bottom up via a number of excellent community orgs. As a resident, it’s generally great with tiny pockets of poor (like everywhere) by manypidgins (Tue 15th Dec 2020 9:25pm)
  • thanks, think we have those externals but I hadn't realised that Abandoned Scotland had also been inside. by manypidgins (Fri 5th Mar 2021 1:26pm)

  • If you are moving into a new build you should definitely make sure to take note of things that appear/break/require rectification in the first 12 months (not just when you move in) as those issues may be the contractors responsibility to repair/fix. by manypidgins (Fri 14th Jan 2022 6:09pm)

  • I got one the other week and they used a new numbing spray (instead of the numbing injection) can recommend as I’ve always found the insertion to be pretty awful. I was delighted with how the spray worked, super quick insertion and felt comfortable to cycle home afterwards by manypidgins (Wed 14th Dec 2022 4:18pm)
  • I really hope you were able to ask for and get the numbing spray. It’s a total game changer and I will be way less nervous about future insertions/removals knowing it exists. The teams at the Sandyford are very well trained and I’ve always found them to be trauma aware and very good at getting consent before doing anything. Hope it’s a medium experience (or good, just not bad!) by manypidgins (Mon 19th Dec 2022 12:44pm)
  • So glad to hear this. It’s so easy to get caught up in the horror stories, and you’ll know for next time! by manypidgins (Fri 23rd Dec 2022 5:13pm)

  • It is very distinctive, green cover with 1 child seat in the front (if not removed there’s also a mirror for the child to see the cyclist at the front of the basket) only two of this make in Glasgow that I know of and registered through all the sensible places! https://preview.redd.it/1w0f77wml8nb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9130f81ad2d24ac2b94de1e1e2a1b021830fd18c by manypidgins (Sat 9th Sep 2023 3:05pm)

  • I will be doing this tomorrow by manypidgins (Sat 9th Sep 2023 6:36pm)
  • We’re in crosshill so it’s not far from the house… tbh I think it was some local kids cos they also messed with the wheelie bins and put our bike pump in the middle of the road - it doesn’t have resale options and pretty unique so not one a bike thief would go for necessarily by manypidgins (Sat 9th Sep 2023 8:10pm)
  • It has been found! Thanks to an eagle eyed neighbour of the thief who thought it was an odd bike. Thanks to everyone for looking and all your helpful comments by manypidgins (Sat 9th Sep 2023 10:05pm)
  • I popped up a post on FB yesterday, one of the lost & found groups, and a neighbour of the thief messaged me tonight to say he knew where it was and would help me. They had it hidden in a back court (although no locked close doors) under a tarp. Met up with the neighbour who mentioned that he’d seen the blokes riding it round earlier and thought it was an “odd bike for them” and then when he saw the post it clicked. We picked it up and carried up the stairs back to pavement. And I cycled off! Never been so happy to get in the saddle Bike not trashed, battery still nearly full and all the accessories still there. Sadly they did take the jackets and waterproof gear that lives in the front basket, but that’s totally replaceable. And I’m one lock down, but again replaceable. I’m a very happy human tonight by manypidgins (Sat 9th Sep 2023 10:54pm)
  • But it worked! Or a post on FB worked actually. Bike safe and sound at home again, hidden and locked. All the AirTags back with me (keep paranoidly checking) by manypidgins (Sat 9th Sep 2023 10:56pm)
