  • I was with them for more than a year and it was alright overall. One thing to note, my landlord was amazing, met me on the move in day and gave me his number to text if I had any issues so I never had to deal with Clyde. When I moved out there was a cheeky attempt at keeping my deposit from Clyde. Like the carpet that no-one had ever stepped in shoes somehow had gone from "good" to "worn". But again, it was sent to the landlord and he said I was alright and I got my deposit back. by mimined (Sat 4th Dec 2021 12:40am)

  • Haha offt as much as I love a Greggs, the calorie - volume ratio is crazy in a steak bake. But thanks anyway for reminding me about them! They have great soups. by mimined (Wed 2nd Mar 2022 6:48pm)

  • I am the same age as you and I moved to Glasgow five years ago after graduating from my uni. I knew very few people here and did not have close friends. I can confirm that it is very hard to meet folk live. The "go to the library" method never worked for me. All the people I have met here I have met through someone I already knew. However, a couple of ideas for you: 1. The hiking clubs are usually super welcome. It's literally that - you go somewhere with people you don't know and you walk alongside them. It's just a perfect way to bond with folk or just "go for a walk" with them. 2. I know this is controversial but... Tinder. Just be yourself and say on the profile that you're just looking to get to know people. I'd say getting to know as many people increases your chances of developing friendships with some of them. by mimined (Thu 23rd Jun 2022 2:56pm)
  • Half my office is having it and I brought mine from abroad a week ago. Hang in there! Unfortunately the advice is the usual from the doctors: rest, warm fluids etc. Get throat soothing things from boots, they all do help! The doctor might only give you antibiotics if you have the fever for longer than a week. by mimined (Wed 31st Aug 2022 8:54am)
  • Haha no I was on a quiet beach holiday in Sicily with my partner. Well, the beach was not quiet at all but I'm still blaming the AC =D by mimined (Wed 31st Aug 2022 4:20pm)
  • Ugh, of course, let's blame the foreign students. Erasmus has never been the problem of accommodation simply because it is an exchange program (as in it's in the name, it's a one for one kind of a thing). The universities simply want constant growth of income and they achieve it by growing the student numbers every year without bothering to increase bedroom numbers. It relates to all students - the ones who grew up in Glasgow, the ones who came from Falkirk, the ones who traveled from England or the other side of the earth. It literally does not matter where they came from. by mimined (Mon 5th Sep 2022 3:06pm)

  • I looked at it but the reviews were like "good fun if you know what I mean" and the photos are of hot shekshy boys. I'm just a dusty tired woman who wants to sit and talk to nobody lol. by mimined (Tue 20th Sep 2022 11:46am)

  • If the bins are collected on a working day and there's no-one in the close to buzz the bin men in since everyone is at work, then what happens? I've never understood this. by mimined (Sat 30th Sep 2023 7:12pm)
