  • My place needs service desk agents just now but on a 6 month contract basis though these do tend to roll over most of the time. If you PM me your linkedin I can give you a message if I think it seems right for you. It's both 1st and 2nd line. by stefiscope (Mon 18th Feb 2019 5:08pm)
  • I just finished the Level A1 course at Glasgow Uni, it ran one 2 hour evening class a week over 2 terms. So about 20 weeks. They'd extended it by 6 weeks as well right before lockdown so sadly didn't get to do the added classes. I loved the classes I went to though and fully plan on doing A2. It is a proper beginners class and has been a great foundation to work from. I also have the same plan to move within the next few years all going well! Also would seriously recommend the podcast called ManManMan, de podcast. I started on 0.7 speed and slowly trained my ear to increase the talking speed. You'll see why when you start episode 1. I now find myself laughing at bits of it more often. Good luck! by stefiscope (Wed 15th Apr 2020 5:45pm)
  • Another chain but I'm sure I remember All Bar One had this though I can't see it online... I really like most of their dishes. Good variety of options too if you guys want to branch out from chicken! They also do dishes specifically aimed at nutrition and health so if there's no kcal info, at least there's tasty healthy options? by stefiscope (Wed 19th Aug 2020 10:18pm)
  • Just submitted, hope you reach the 1000. However, can confirm it only says City on the survey's last dropdown menu, no mention of region. by stefiscope (Wed 19th Aug 2020 11:26pm)
  • Jim Milton did my lessons around the east end. He does both bike and car lessons, he seriously knows his stuff! I gave up on my first instructor because he was impatient with me/did that tough love shit that I also did not appreciate. Jim was a brilliant teacher, has a great sense of humour and I passed first time. I always recommend him on here. You can find his details easily on google. by stefiscope (Wed 19th Aug 2020 11:55pm)
  • Not sure either of these make non-traditional pies up but seen both of these do some mouthwatering looking pre-made fillings you could use if you bought a puff pastry roll yourself: - Lennons on Shettleston Road, East End. Also their regular steak pies are absolute belters - The butcher's on Byres Road, West End. Sorry I have no clue what the name is but they've got a great selection! by stefiscope (Thu 29th Oct 2020 9:11pm)
  • I'm 30, east end of Glasgow and letter arrived this morning, along with my sister's, who is 33. They're on their way folks! Hang in there! by stefiscope (Sat 22nd May 2021 9:22am)
  • Never gets old. Me and the lads at work post this every Friday on the group chat and it never fails to get the troops goin! by stefiscope (Fri 23rd Jul 2021 10:54am)
  • Thanks! I'll give them a ring tomorrow. by stefiscope (Wed 11th Aug 2021 7:18pm)
  • Totally forgot about that place! Will keep this in mind. Thanks! by stefiscope (Wed 11th Aug 2021 7:22pm)
  • I had thought of ebay but I am not sure on the exact value of the 2 issues so didn't know where to start! I'm going to call a place that was suggested below and if it turns out they're worth something maybe this is the way to go. Thanks for the suggestion! by stefiscope (Wed 11th Aug 2021 7:20pm)
  • This sound really promising! Have DM'd you. by stefiscope (Thu 12th Aug 2021 8:58am)
  • This should be further up the thread. Having my landlord live literally right there would put me right off renting that place. by stefiscope (Mon 17th Jan 2022 5:31pm)
  • 100%. Got a Brita after I moved into my current flat and realised if I left a fresh glass of water sitting for more than 5 minutes it tasted rank. Keep the jug in the fridge and enjoy! Oh and you can also recycle filters at big supermarkets like Tesco. by stefiscope (Wed 9th Feb 2022 6:17am)
  • Is it private sector? If yes then I second the request for a one off allowance from the new employer. I've had that twice before in new jobs. It was a few hundred pounds and not a full pay of course but paid for household expenses for a few weeks then was deducted from following payrolls. If they really can't arrange that for you, then if it's an option for you I can honestly recommend asking your own bank what credit card you are eligible for (if you haven't got a good one on the go already). Some of them have decent interest free periods so you should be able to pay towards it as you start getting paid without racking up extra costs anytime soon. Obv if there's no 0% interest option, or you already have credit cards with large balances, then of course avoid taking on any more. by stefiscope (Tue 15th Mar 2022 10:23am)
  • If you don't want to have to get your own label maker, try and look up custom raised letter/embossed labels instead. Lots of people will do these in smaller bundles such as this person on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/877476438/custom-typewriter-style-embossed-dymo They're more weather and timeproof plus lot of bigger companies only sell them in crazy quantities like 150. by stefiscope (Thu 17th Mar 2022 6:19pm)
  • Nice! Thanks for sharing. Those are some impressive crochet(?) skills on show. by stefiscope (Sat 2nd Apr 2022 12:07pm)
  • Probably too late commenting on this but had the same issue. I have some houseplants - herbs like basil and mint as well as just decorative - and noticed they exploded in population after I watered things. Particularly one plant on my kitchen window, fuckin hunners of them zooming about. Don't know why no one else has suggested it but as soon as I bought a venus flytrap and sat it right on the window sill next to the other plants, I have not had one single fly. It sorted itself out literally overnight. Brilliant wee plants and bonus is you don't have to deal with fly paper encrusted with dead nasties or cups filled with manky dead flies floating in them. Edit: I got the venus flytrap just from b&q for a couple of quid by stefiscope (Tue 16th Aug 2022 11:51pm)
  • I use a painter and decorator called Jim Garvie every time I've needed something done over the years. Does an excellent job and won't stiff you on cost. Think he's always pretty busy with jobs but he's def worth a shout. His business is J Garvie Decorators, give him a ring and he'll give you a better indication of price than most of us on here can. by stefiscope (Wed 16th Nov 2022 8:57am)
  • Greenoakhill. It's a forestry commission site now on the old landfill site. It is actually a really cool walk despite how it sounds. You might bump into one or two people but it's not a big open park so chances of the pup bombing off every 2 seconds are much reduced. You can do the whole trail which eventually takes you onto the river Clyde if you want a longer walk when the pup gets older. I take my young lab there and it's great. There's a wee car park across from the dogs trust. by stefiscope (Tue 25th Apr 2023 7:08am)
  • Can recommend Priority Roofing who are based in the east end. They've done a couple of patching up jobs for the flats I'm in and sorted it first time. by stefiscope (Mon 30th Oct 2023 7:49am)
