  • My best bet would be Lovisa in Buchanan Galleries, its super cheap, they have a multiple letter M pieces on their website: https://www.lovisa.co.uk/products/cha-sg-mini-txtrd-m-charm There’s also an Accessorize in the galleries: https://uk.accessorize.com/view/product/uk_catalog/acc_2.3/7825578100 The shop I think someone else mentioned in centra station is maybe Oliver Bonas? It’s more midrange (like £20-40 for necklaces) https://www.oliverbonas.com/jewellery/alphabet-round-disc-gold-plated-necklace Also worth checking Topshop, River Island, Claires Accessories and Monki for this type of thing. by tenthousandmornings (Wed 12th Feb 2020 3:39pm)

  • Nice! Keep me updated. I’m happy to just take a straight up leaf and propagate it myself. I guess you also know how expensive a house plant collection gets :) by tenthousandmornings (Mon 16th Mar 2020 9:54pm)

  • Since there’s no inventory/proof of the condition it was given to us in do you think I could use that to protect some of my deposit? Also, the landlord would frequently enter the flat or have workmen enter the flat without any notice (one time they came into my room when i was asleep in my underwear). Do you know if this kind of illegal behaviour from them could be used to protect my deposit? by tenthousandmornings (Thu 2nd Apr 2020 5:16pm)

  • most of those pictures were taken in the bedroom. I assumed the girl who was moving out would give the room a thorough clean before moving out. Instead I came in to her leaving me 2 years of dirt and a mouldy waste paper bin by tenthousandmornings (Fri 3rd Apr 2020 3:38pm)
  • my close has a lot of plants in it and i’ve never known any to be stolen by tenthousandmornings (Thu 16th Apr 2020 3:31pm)
  • because we’d still owe them rent, there’s not a rent freeze there’s a ban on evictions. Since my roommate’s have no income they’d just be accumulating debt. by tenthousandmornings (Wed 22nd Apr 2020 12:58pm)
  • I’m a (mixed race) east asian girl who grew up just south of Glasgow. There are a few times where I experienced pretty brutal racism. I was on the last train from Glasgow to motherwell when I was 16 and an older drunk couple began harassing me. They were telling me they were going to insert eels into my orifices, saying very abusive things and threatening to fight me. It was traumatising, I was a child. But I’d say the more constant and casual racism is what gets me more. When the couple were racially harassing me it was the last train home on new years eve - it was packed. Not one of the many adult men stood up for me, they all just looked on. Twice people have shouted ‘corona’ at me out their cars. When I worked in a shop, more than one old man came in just to ask me what country I was from and then didn’t even buy anything. Another time, a guy told my boyfriend he was also thinking of ‘getting an asian bird’ as if we were fashion accessories. ‘Small’ racist things happen to me maybe every other week. b by tenthousandmornings (Tue 9th Jun 2020 3:54am)
  • Weird how we must have seen each other hundreds of times then. Skypark 1? by tenthousandmornings (Wed 29th Jul 2020 4:58pm)
  • I lived in Merchant City and walked to and from my office in Skypark. I liked the walk, there’s good places along the way on St Vincent street to pick up coffee or a lunch to bring in. It’s also like £2 for a return to exhibition centre if it’s rainy out. It’s kind of uphill and I never saw anyone cycling along that way when I was walking. by tenthousandmornings (Wed 29th Jul 2020 4:55pm)
  • Hey! I studied at University of Strathclyde which is next to Caledonian university. I lived in Hyndland G12 and Park District G3 while studying there. Both postcodes are really connected to the university. It’s a reasonable walk or you can get the return train to Queen Street Station for £2-3/subway to Cowcaddens for £3. I would highly recommend Hyndland if you can afford it. It has a family vibe. My street had a communal garden and the neighbourhood association would host fireworks nights, summer fetes and bouncy castles there for the families. It feels incredibly safe and there’s no main roads. There’s a small high street with cafes, bakeries, a childrens book shop and a dog groomers. Not sure how old your daughter is but the local high schools Notre Dame and Hyndland Secondary are the top ranked in Glasgow. You’ll probably be looking at £950 for a 2 bedroom flat. The only area in G12/G3 I’d so to maybe give a miss is Finnieston/Anderston? Just because I think theres nicer areas for your children and dogs. For pet friendly flats I think you’ll probably have to give all the major letting agencies a miss and look into private landlords. For internet, Virgin Media. For a phone carrier I’d definitely recommend Vodaphone. My partner is with EE and I often have 4G in places where he gets no internet signal. Voxi has really good deals and coverage too. by tenthousandmornings (Tue 1st Dec 2020 4:20am)
  • Thank you so much! Malcolm and David are new names to me, Before I am accused of being super lazy in my research I did look at Marli Sui and KT Tunstall before posting here but it doesn’t seem like they’ve ever lived in West Scotland. by tenthousandmornings (Tue 19th Jan 2021 5:32pm)
  • Hahaha yes, it was taken down for my vague wording. Thank you again for the help. I did see the article about Tommy Ga-Ken Wan being racially attacked in George Square in June when I was researching as well. It was very sad to read. by tenthousandmornings (Tue 19th Jan 2021 5:36pm)
