  • Define interesting... by tinybrunettebigmouth (Thu 21st Mar 2019 3:45pm)
  • Yeah because we all know Mark Barrett is less culpable. Amazed that people still feel that they can discern a persons nationality / birth country from their name. As a Glasgow born and bred 2 generations back with a name that is ‘foreign’ on paper this infuriates me no end. by tinybrunettebigmouth (Thu 21st Mar 2019 3:58pm)
  • Confirmation bias. You are clearly only looking at scenarios where the landlords are ‘foreign’. Do you honestly believe that no Scottish landlord has behaved like this? by tinybrunettebigmouth (Thu 21st Mar 2019 4:14pm)
  • Exactly. Pointing out that the names are as ‘interesting’ as the act like honestly is so ridiculous. Be more concerned about the people being subjected to this housing (or lack thereof) and hold those landlords accountable for their actions rather than their nationality. I grew up in Govanhill and had a great childhood, yeah there were problems but as you grow and live in other areas/cities/countries you see problems exist everywhere and utopia is non existent. Additionally some of the best neighbours/ landlords/ friends in the community of Govanhill were non-glasgow born and those that screwed my parents on tenancies and put flyers through the door to campaign to get ‘X- nationality’ out of our flat were born and raised in Scotland 🤷🏽‍♀️ by tinybrunettebigmouth (Thu 21st Mar 2019 4:10pm)

  • Pot luck, the bungo, cafe strangebrew (can’t beat all the old classics). If you can be arsed with the extra trek to shields road station way then Malaga tapas. by tinybrunettebigmouth (Fri 29th Mar 2019 1:18pm)
  • I’ve never tried mac and cheese and linen but I’ll give it a go. Malaga tapas is honestly the best tapas I’ve had outside Spain but I can only speak for the south side one. Would reccomend to anyone by tinybrunettebigmouth (Fri 29th Mar 2019 2:26pm)

  • Hi there, Just completing my masters from GCU at the moment and would vouch for it 100%. The funding and bursary thing is a nightmare are there are two different bursaries ( fees only or fees plus means tested) and absolutely NO SAAS available for any of the courses since this SSSC funding exists despite not everyone being eligible. I got fees only and had to pay £1000 each year to fill the gap but I know this has gone up to £1200 now. The £500 you get is per placement which is kind of unfair since one placement is shorter than the other and depending on your commute/ whether or not you drive that might last you the whole time or not even make a dent. Happy to answer any questions over PM/ meet for a coffee, it’s a tough course but I’ve loved every minute and starting my job as a qualified worker next week and can’t wait! by tinybrunettebigmouth (Tue 9th Apr 2019 9:37pm)

  • I’ve lived in and around London and was thoroughly miserable. Glasgow is not as aesthetically pleasing as some other places but you’ll never be alone, we are nosy as feck and you’ll always find a wee wifey to chat to at the bus stop while Londoners will literally turn a blind eye to everything and anything. I was living in zone 5 at the time of the Brexit vote and seeing the reaction to my non British flat mates at the time solidified my decision to move home. We’re arseholes but we are mainly welcoming and friendly arseholes (unless you’re English but honestly that’s on you). Basically, glasgow is a bit shit but only we are allowed to say that and as much as we all moan we’d never live anywhere else 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 by tinybrunettebigmouth (Mon 15th Apr 2019 3:43pm)
  • My sincerest apologies. OP should note there’s a distinct difference between prick and arsehole. Hanging my head in shame I lumped everyone in together by tinybrunettebigmouth (Mon 15th Apr 2019 4:14pm)
