  • My Mum got the same letter from the factors (who are shite anyway) for two mobility scooters in the close. Just ignored the letters, haven't heard anything since. I would ask to see the fire risk assessment if they try and pester you more. by whitemae (Wed 2nd Sep 2020 4:19pm)
  • Probably best trying the Cats Protection. You'll feel more confident that the cat isn't ill etc or taken from its mother too young. They have many cats available (including Kittens). Usually need do some sort of House check to make sure you arent a complete mong. https://www.cats.org.uk/adopt-a-cat by whitemae (Tue 6th Oct 2020 8:33pm)

  • Finnieston Fez. The Marlborough in Broomhill recently opened and has lovely coffee. by whitemae (Sat 6th Feb 2021 3:47pm)
  • Live in Knightswood. Don't notice it very much. I did notice how rare an airplane sounded when majority of flights stopped. But still you get used to it. On a sad note if you have young family members round its a game. Oh I wonder where has it come from. Flightradar24 is a good app! by whitemae (Sun 21st Feb 2021 12:29pm)

  • They have list 1, 2 and 3 addresses. List 1 are usually the older houses in the Jordanhill area. List 2 may be some of the older houses in Scotstoun and newer houses in Jordanhill. The new houses built on the old Jordanhill college are not in the catchment area. Every few years parents try to take the school to court because they live in Jordanhill but they arent in one of the list addresses. You're best to register your child from Birth and they have to reside at the address till they start primary school and live there for at least 6 months. You do find alot of people move when the kid is at school which I find extremely unfair for people who move into the area. So I moved back to Jordanhill at 12 and couldn't get into the school till 5th year (left school by then) but my cousins lived in Milngavie and they still attended. Another reason the house prices are horrendous in Jordanhill. Aye its a good school. But some of the pupils become total bellends and have the fake glasgow uni accent. Just go to the three craws on christmas eve.... by whitemae (Thu 26th Aug 2021 1:23pm)
  • Grew up on Crow Road near that very dealership. Yes it is noisy but you get used to it. Back of the flat was always quiet though. Parking is a nightmare. by whitemae (Sun 17th Oct 2021 9:34am)
  • The back of the flat was quiet. by whitemae (Sun 17th Oct 2021 11:42am)
  • Honestly. My favourite restaurant's in Glasgow if I had one-night. Not city centre though but fairly easy to get to Partick Duck Club - This is my favourite restaurant in Glasgow. The duck fat fries 🥲 Cafe Zique - depending on when you go but you can get a few small dishes and all the herbs used are from their own outside seating area Basta - beats Paesano for pizza Speaking to my Pals in Edinburgh they think the food scene in Glasgow is better. by whitemae (Fri 12th Nov 2021 2:15pm)
  • Oh you have to try it! You won't regret it. You may even forget all about Rio Cafe when you taste those fries. I never actually went into the Rio Cafe even though at that time it was at the end of my street! by whitemae (Fri 12th Nov 2021 10:25pm)
  • As much as I hate the M8 because its just huge and an eyesore. Makes getting into the city so much easier if you have to drive. Went to Edinburgh the other weekend and felt like forever before we got even close to the centre. by whitemae (Fri 10th Dec 2021 9:22pm)
  • If you drive you could try Glendrick Roost Animal Welfare Or Loch Lomond Bird of Pret Centre. Glendrick Roost - [FB](https://www.facebook.com/Glendrick-Roost-Animal-Welfare-Centre-295429747140376/) Loch Lomond - [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/llbopc/) Quite a lot outwith the city. If in the city probably best trying SSPCA or Dogs Trust but many of the volunteer vacancies for 'hands on' work are filled. It's usually chuggers they need. by whitemae (Mon 27th Dec 2021 11:26pm)
  • You can park before the bridge over to Danes drive usually. Westland drive, victoria park drive etc. But it does get busy and traffic can be a nightmare but only usually lasts for 15 minutes. Enjoy the game! by whitemae (Wed 16th Feb 2022 11:26am)
  • Five March definitely! by whitemae (Sat 12th Mar 2022 7:19pm)
  • On a nice week day avoiding summer holidays I head to Victoria park. Theres a bench up a wee hill which looks down on the flower gardens. I've quite enjoyed sitting there. Can't help with indoor I'm afraid probably Mitchell library. They sell hot drinks probably basic though. by whitemae (Sun 13th Mar 2022 10:35am)
  • Yes! Love this song. I sing it to my son! by whitemae (Sat 16th Apr 2022 6:51pm)
  • The wee junk and antique shops are amazing. We decided to get christmas presents from there instead. Fairly cheap as well. by whitemae (Mon 25th Apr 2022 11:57am)
  • We had this issue previously. Roofing job back in 2017. We got visibility of three quotes but they went for the most expensive.... Unfortunately I was still a bit daft when it came to Factors then (trusted them haha!). You can challenge the selected contractor. See all the quotes that they've had. But all occupiers would need to agree regarding contractor. If you know you're neighbours well might be worth asking them to challenge also. Spiers Gumley are awful. They basically told the whole close that my mother refused to pay, which was rubbish as there was an agreement in place, just not the 5k they wanted right away. So my mother didn't even want to leave the flat. by whitemae (Tue 3rd May 2022 7:06pm)
  • Sorry. I can't remember. by whitemae (Wed 4th May 2022 9:30am)
  • Partick Duck Club Ziques Horn Please Elenas Five March All ooft. Apart from Five March they're all reasonably priced. by whitemae (Tue 21st Jun 2022 12:29pm)
  • Try a rescue first. Give local centre a call. Depending on situation might not be compatible. Do your research. What breed do you want? Not all dogs are suited to city life or prefer small families etc. Look up SSPCA approved breeders. Look up Kennel club. Facebook pages. Most approved breeders have facebook pages updated regularly as the pups get older. Try and avoid contacting them online. Best phoning (check phone number on google) to make sure legit. Please think long and hard about getting a Puppy. It's hard work and a big commitment. The amount of dogs in the SSPCA and dog's trust that are below 2 is astounding. They are not just toys to give back when weather gets shit or working from home is over. by whitemae (Tue 19th Jul 2022 7:43am)
  • Golf Fang managed to accommodate a fairly last minute hen do. For after, we then booked a huge table at metropolitan. Food was average but good service. West end wise. Bothy do rooms for a private meal depending on size. You can also arrange private pottery and painting at certain art shops if that's your thing. Good luck! Found arranging bloody stressful. by whitemae (Thu 3rd Aug 2023 6:45am)
