  • That's my situation, no local credit reference so paying 6months upfront.. but.. yeah that's fine, leaving note to agency/landlord stating we are new comers and they are nice to me.. just rented an apartment and start moving in♥️ by CappellettoJC (Thu 21st Jul 2022 5:17pm)
  • 20 years ago when I am still young adult I have the same thought.. especially those addictors around me caused huge tragedies to their families. Now I still cannot tolerate such addiction but instead of hating them I feel sorry for them. Sometimes they just don't know what to do or understand what they have done. This may sound ridiculous but not everyone can receive a proper education in childhood or grown up in a terrible environment with no parental care. Casting them to wasteland isn't a solution.. simply don't. I am safe just because of my behaviour fits to the society, but what if I don't one day? Like... I have to kill a bastard to save my love? What if jury and judge think I do not deserve living? Of course it is impossible but try to think in other's shoes can give me some insights not to go too extreme by CappellettoJC (Thu 4th Aug 2022 6:29pm)
  • I would say 8-8. it is quite stressful when you hear noises from upstairs when trying to relax from work. I think a few days of hammer work is fine, but young kids are the real problem, no offense. When I was living in Hong Kong my upstair has a energized kid that yells from 4am to 11pm for years.. it was a painful life. by CappellettoJC (Sat 6th Aug 2022 8:58pm)
  • Oh! Ground floor? downstairs should be fine unless you are trying to poke the ceiling xD by CappellettoJC (Sat 6th Aug 2022 9:11pm)
  • Lidl is my savior. Just moved to UK this July and found Lidl has all the things I need.. bakery for brunch and snacks at teatime, fusilli or spaghetti accompanied by prok/beef stew, less than £70/month for a couple (and I have big appetite) But you better have your own fridge otherwise your food could be stolen by flatmate... by CappellettoJC (Sat 6th Aug 2022 9:31pm)
  • Tried for 2 weeks but still lots of stains, and my arms are allerged to the chemicals by CappellettoJC (Sat 6th Aug 2022 9:43pm)

  • I did that with Dr.Beckmann deep cleaner for several times.. but it is still dirty and smelly. It really beyond our capabilities and time so it's better to hire service instead of keep fighting with dirts Thanks anyway by CappellettoJC (Sat 6th Aug 2022 10:22pm)
  • Yes just moved and renting here. I'm negotiating with the landlord and hope we can come to the same point Did used to keep receipts as studying accountancy, a good practice heh by CappellettoJC (Sat 6th Aug 2022 10:38pm)
  • I think I know that scrapper, got one at my previous home and used that to get rid of oils after I baked a big dish, that's indeed amazing! by CappellettoJC (Sat 6th Aug 2022 10:35pm)
  • Plenty aubergine in Lidl this morning.. happy meal tonight by CappellettoJC (Sun 7th Aug 2022 3:53pm)
  • Somehow yes... Deleting the master degree should help, not only retail but also some entry/ junior posts by CappellettoJC (Sun 7th Aug 2022 8:43pm)
  • No suggestion but don't go Yotel I stayed there for 3 weeks and it's pain in the ass, a sudden fire alarm at 2am made everyone stands at the street then 15 mins later hotel staff let us back without any explanations. Not to mention the auto-off electricity, we were playing board games and lights went off and we have to move or dance to get them on. They have nice receptionists though. by CappellettoJC (Mon 8th Aug 2022 9:39am)
  • Because there was no fire nor smoke Days later when I asked them what happened and that was just a false alarm by CappellettoJC (Mon 8th Aug 2022 10:31am)
  • I am living in Barrhead it's quite a nice area! Still need time to see the other places as we're also new to Glasgow too. SIMD link from another reply is useful but I would only take that as a reference. Glasgow central in blue but I am quite uncomfortable staying there, the place I live is in deep red but so far it is quiet and peaceful (or maybe I don't go out at late nights) have to check by yourself before settling down by CappellettoJC (Mon 8th Aug 2022 2:59pm)
  • Forgot to mention... Below is our relevent expenses per month despite all the furnitures and applicants Rent 650, 2bedrooms top floor Groceries 200 Telecom plus BT 40 Home insurance 20 Electricity 80 Gas 40 Transportation or entertainment are quite personal so I skipped them. We're going to 40's soon and don't like eat out or shopping, most of the time we spend on video games studying and cooking. Hope that helps <3 by CappellettoJC (Mon 8th Aug 2022 3:06pm)
  • Me and my partner are both unemployed, me signed off last year and she is a long-term patient that can't go for office work. Moved to Glasgow this July from Hong Kong. Mention all your limitations at the beginning maybe helpful. We left messages at rightmove indicating we're visa holders that can show our bank statement as a prove and willingness to pay upfront. Got replied before our flight and viewed the property after landing, then the next two weeks negotiates with landlord and documentation. Good luck in finding flat! by CappellettoJC (Mon 8th Aug 2022 5:03pm)
  • Mine is through agency. Landlord did asked about our jobs and future plans, I told him my past experience as operation director now looking for accountancy position (targeted on ACCA qualification), and plan to set up video game studio when my honey gets better, she's a AI freelance programmer. Maybe that turns the tide....? I am friend of my previous landlord, she told me somehow scared to rent her property to unemployed or fresh graduates as quite a lot of them are unreliable in finance and unable to keep the property in good conditions. We both know this is stereotype but landlords always want a good tenant. Think of this and hit this point with your words, showing them your future plan honesty could make them feel better. by CappellettoJC (Mon 8th Aug 2022 5:24pm)
  • Not sure... I also got refused by a landlord before we fly to Scotland by CappellettoJC (Mon 8th Aug 2022 5:27pm)
  • I used rightmove to find property so I leave a concrete message to pitch myself to those I am interested in. Hit rate is honestly not too high especially.. you know, from Hong Kong, political issues... But when it hits it could turn out a better chance to get that house. by CappellettoJC (Mon 8th Aug 2022 5:30pm)
  • Don't blame yourself as you cannot choose your birth. I have no child, but I understand your thought as I grown up with single parent. My existence may restricted her to look for second marriage.. 30 years ago a widow with a child generally has a low social entity in Asia What I can tell is, the "misfortune" from your parent may not be really that bad, as mistakes and poor luck makes people grow up by themselves. This is what I learnt from my partner - she is very weak so I have to work very hard to take care of her, as a result I cannot look for a better job. I went through a lot of pain but thanks to that I am tougher than anyone, my career path is pathetic at its early time but no longer continue after I found a way out. Misfortune is not due to someone's birth or death, sometimes we only need an opportunity to breakthrough. Therapist is a must, here you've already got lots of advices.. Besides this I would recommend you to have a deep talk with your parents. Do not let your thought bother you. Just in case: If your parents really think you blocked their path, don't panic or depress. Not everyone wise enough to understand misfortune is a result of their own behaviour or luck, not by others' existence and fault. Love yourself, be happy and energetic, they will eventually be affected by your positive attitude. (Or in worse case, they really think their suffer is due to your birth, treat yourself even better, then piss them off when you become independent) Best wishes from a 36yo auntie. by CappellettoJC (Wed 17th Aug 2022 10:29pm)
  • Puerh is the my fav.. used to keep me awake at day work ♥️ it's really hard to find from my town so need to order from Amazon.. will go visit Asian market after completely settle down Thanks for suggestion! by CappellettoJC (Sat 27th Aug 2022 6:01pm)
  • Being a women I would say teaching your girl boxing is totally fine. My dad taught me karate since I was four and that helped me to protect myself from the boys. No offense but most of the boys at my time (30 years ago Asian society) really dont know how to make friends with others.... you know.. tearing off girl's skirt or slap her face.... We fought so hard and become good friends until now, though their parents hated me as I won against their sons... Your girl is really lovely, she knew the power of boxing and use them with care, she did even ask your approval before she make her move. Don't care about those bitches you teach her so well! by CappellettoJC (Wed 12th Oct 2022 6:43pm)
  • I wondered if showing the tenant contract as well as your ID would help? I applied my account during move in and the email is directly send to my email.. so far have no problem but hope you can solve yours without problem! I by CappellettoJC (Fri 14th Oct 2022 2:05pm)
  • Well thst depends.. unreasonably picky is a disaster. by CappellettoJC (Wed 19th Oct 2022 12:31pm)
  • Sorry I thought that was their landlord... Your cousin's landlord is not concerning this maybe just because those families are not living in his apartment by CappellettoJC (Tue 25th Oct 2022 11:09am)
  • Can the council help in this case? Not sure if they will be dealing with the tennent or landlord but both are disgrace.. I remember the tennent contract should have mentioned what are the rights and responsibilities that should be followed? they could be both viewed as breaching contract by CappellettoJC (Tue 25th Oct 2022 11:05am)
  • Sorry I must be blind lol It would be a problem to find a translator if your cousin doesn't even know where they are from.. is it possible to narrow down the choice? I'm from Hong Kong maybe could help if they're Chinese.. but if she thinks they are refugees then I assume that could be from Middle East or Ukraine? Will there be any charity groups or helping group can she can seek for help? by CappellettoJC (Tue 25th Oct 2022 11:20am)
  • I can relate that feeling but that won't do any good.. without effective communication could cause a big problem Is it possible to write them with couple of languages (by Google translate) that can explain the problems or at least knowing what language they use? Building up a communication channel is essential before dealing with their problems in case she doesn't want the authority steps in at the current stage by CappellettoJC (Tue 25th Oct 2022 11:30am)
  • They are different companies but it seems the owners are from the same family. Nicole once said he was worked in his family chip shop when young so I think this is referring to Simeone's? by CappellettoJC (Sun 5th Mar 2023 12:13pm)
