  • I mean i get it don't be a dick, it's unavoidable at times though. by Exact_Coat_403 (Fri 18th Dec 2020 5:11pm)
  • My point being is that it is unavoidable at times. I mean for example some streets are too narrow to avoid parking on the pavement. by Exact_Coat_403 (Fri 18th Dec 2020 5:19pm)
  • Don't doubt that for a second, but I'm not going to make my life exponentially harder and get rid of mine am I, and why should I if the rest of the world isn't going to either? by Exact_Coat_403 (Fri 18th Dec 2020 7:11pm)
  • Sometimes that's nearly impossible though, especially for loading and unloading a van. Perhaps you need to be close to your van for access to tools and materials. Perhaps your only stopping for a short duration to drop someone off or pick them up, your not going to drive 10 mins away to do that. I'm not saying it's right, I am saying it's unavoidable though. Just one of life's little corners that almost everyone cuts. If your perfect and never cut them more power to ya by Exact_Coat_403 (Sat 19th Dec 2020 8:41am)
  • True, but everyone in the world is a bit inconsiderate sometimes. I don't make a habit of it but neither do I feel really guilty for shite parking from time to time. Hardly the crime of the century now is it? I suppose no one here has ever say smoked a joint or drank underage or taken other drugs or taken 2 biscuits left out in the staff room or not put their trolley back at tescos or driven the wrong way around a one way car park? I mean yeah someone parked somewhere they shouldn't be is mildly infuriating but it's not the end of the world. by Exact_Coat_403 (Sat 19th Dec 2020 10:17am)
  • Hey I'm just being honest. Like I say I don't do it regularly but do it if I'm in a pinch. by Exact_Coat_403 (Sat 19th Dec 2020 10:25am)
  • Yes I'm being honest if I can't avoid it or it's far too inconvenient I'll park on a double yellow or pavement permitting. by Exact_Coat_403 (Sun 20th Dec 2020 1:38pm)
  • Yes in some situation it's unavoidable, there are certain streets where everyone parks on pavements down the back of shawlands for instance. I'm not going to be the only one to park on the road and block the road. Therefore it's unavoidable, I'm parking at least partially on the pavement. If I'm up the town dropping off tools or materials and it's double yellows outside the building I'm going to park there. As it would be near impossible for me to find a legit place and carry everything. Therefore it's unavoidable. by Exact_Coat_403 (Sun 20th Dec 2020 1:42pm)

  • The sad fact is its a problem that no one wants to solve, the minute you become a homeowner your tied into the market and you need want the value to increase. I really dont know the answer apart from perhaps more decent affordable social housing stock to provide people with affordable rental properties until they can save enough to get on the ladder should they wish to. by Exact_Coat_403 (Fri 22nd Oct 2021 8:03pm)
  • Tbf most recent social housing I've came across is often done to higher specs than most new builds. Of course they do suffer from same the general shoddiness that all new builds suffer from. by Exact_Coat_403 (Sat 23rd Oct 2021 4:21pm)
  • Just as easy to turn the public against you. Unions are very wary of that by Exact_Coat_403 (Sun 24th Oct 2021 5:17pm)
  • It does. But it's not an unreasonable idea. It can and does happen, remember the general public has zero interests in a worker that isn't theme's rights. A company can wait until the public gets past being mad at them and instead gets mad at workers especially if the company has had "concessions" rejected. The angle goes from evil corporation to greedy communists as quick as a cat. by Exact_Coat_403 (Sun 24th Oct 2021 7:00pm)
  • Dunno what happened here tbh, another user said that that sounded like an excuse to benefit the employers, was merely pointing out the balancing act unions need to tread by Exact_Coat_403 (Mon 25th Oct 2021 6:29pm)

  • Yeah mate, unfortunately I've had horrible experiences with them all my life. And it's not like Heroin is a brand new plague. They grew up seeing it the same way I did. Realistically I know that that the best way to attempt to fix it is decriminalisation and proper funding for treatment and I sincerely hope upon hope upon hope to see the UK move towards that in the next 20 years. That said when I'm witnessing the misery they are inflicting on themselves and others on a daily basis, it's hard not to think of them as less than. • Yeah but what I'm saying is the scrap yard will take more off the price for the more work that has to be done to get to the metal. Its like with cable you get more for stripping it than you do for not stripping it. You need to balance whether the time and weight lost make it worth the extra cash. I myself don't bother stripping anything under 25mm by Exact_Coat_403 (Mon 27th Dec 2021 9:39am)

  • Usually the takeaway give you a float of 15 quid in smash for you to give change with this doubles up as your petrol money. When I still did it with the app orders the takeaway usually give you your delivery fee when you take the order. When I did it 60/80 was norm for midweek and 120/140 for the weekend. My mate does it and makes 70 a night but it costs him nearly 15/20 in fuel. I mean it's not bad as its tax free but its not great either. Also depending on the area some takeaways make you pay for the order up front so if a customer robs you it's on you. It never happened to me but happened to some guys I know. But on the plus side you usually get a free meal and there the chicken ball tax from every order by Exact_Coat_403 (Tue 22nd Mar 2022 7:26am)
