  • If you trust the pubs, but not other people, you're probably a bigot. Why trust pubs and bars? The whole world turned dumb over night. I've been to a pub, it was full of people spitting food and beer over one another. by JimmyTheGinger (Wed 2nd Sep 2020 4:10pm)
  • You got some faith, for real. WE'RE ALL PEOPLE! The people at the pub are people. Those who would have been at home are now in bars. They're the same people. by JimmyTheGinger (Wed 2nd Sep 2020 10:59pm)

You don't have to pay it, we used to have whole estates rebel because the factor kept pushing up prices and increasing margin, without the knowledge of my bosses (they own the landscaping company). In the end, the estate turned to shit and it took years for the same factor to find a replacement grounds team. Just stop paying, speak with your neighbours and keep asking around. by JimmyTheGinger (Wed 21st Oct 2020 4:57pm)

  • As much as I agree, in an ideal world, the next bin would be nearby and not also overflowing.. But oftentimes, I've carried stinking fast food containers for a mile, passing several overflowing bins. In the end, I had to dump it beside an overflowing bin because it would be rank to carry stinking chips & curry sauce onto a packed bus.. This problem is systemic. I lived years in Australia and they don't have overflowing bins. In Castlemilk, the bins would fill up and they'd remain full all week, often for weeks because they're not emptied often enough. Then you have another problem.. The bins at my mother's house aren't big enough, and the council's solution is "take it to the dump". We have a failure of local government/council, and although I agree.. We as a society are manky bastards, it isn't so black and white as some people like to advocate while sitting behind a computer screen. by JimmyTheGinger (Sun 24th Jan 2021 5:31pm)
  • “And then 4 of the bins on the main street hadn’t been emptied either, they were 99% full and this was at 6:45am... “ Didn’t know Scotrail were in charge of the Main Street bins either. by JimmyTheGinger (Fri 12th Mar 2021 3:22pm)
  • Did you all skip half the post? The bins on the main street were crammed aswell by JimmyTheGinger (Fri 12th Mar 2021 3:21pm)
  • Did I say that? And you have no clue mate. Outside of those 4 bins on the Main Street there’s pretty much no other bin on my way to work. Sarky cunt, you’ve been watching too many Prime Ministers Questions. 12 hours later and the bins are now over flowing, they weren’t emptied at all today. So it’s not about being up at 4am.. it’s about increasing the number of days they’re collected. by JimmyTheGinger (Fri 12th Mar 2021 6:44pm)
  • See, you assume I won't hold onto my rubbish.. Ofc I did, but how many people will? And once the place is trashed, people are even less likely to carry their rubbish home or to another bin. And my 'insult' means you answer questions like an MP trying to one-up the opposition. It's childish. by JimmyTheGinger (Fri 12th Mar 2021 8:38pm)
  • Thanks. If bins are overflowing, it means hiring more litter pickers. Once the streets are a mess, people are less likely to care about where they live. Really sad all the people insulting and downvoting me for suggesting something crazy like.. emptying bins more frequently. by JimmyTheGinger (Fri 12th Mar 2021 8:36pm)

  • I worked in this industry, I can attest to the long setups and lackluster management. It's because of all the handovers and allowing additional time for deadlines etc. A lot of contractors are involved, and if one is late or has an issue, and the time isn't accounted for everyone down the line is affected. by JimmyTheGinger (Thu 3rd Jun 2021 10:47pm)

  • Regardless of not answering my question, I enjoyed reading your comment. It was honest, genuine and acheives so much more than 'It will get better!'. So thank you :) I relate to your final paragraph. Sometimes when I'm at my lowest, it's certainly understandble that cooking a meal and going for a walk would help, but most people giving that advice don't understand why you can't/won't/don't do the obvious. If it's your first time being there, it's great advice. I've also dealt with depression from a young age, and being told 'go for a walk. Try meditation' becomes patronising. I hope you're doing well <3 Thanks for commenting. by JimmyTheGinger (Thu 27th Jan 2022 8:46am)
  • Why would I lie about this? Do you doubt I was sick? I don't see the logic, I gain nothing from lieing about this. You might think it's super improbable, and I'm certain the chance of this is indeed freak coincidence, but coincidence doesn't equal bullshit. The population of Wuhan is huge, and thousands of Chinese study in Sydney each year. In fact, if you walk around Sydney CBD you see more Chinese people than any other nationality. Sydney has 500,000 Chinese people living as permenant residents according to the last census. That's 10% of the population. That doesn't include the thousands of students that come each year. The unlikely happens everyday. I'm no statistician but if there's one flight a week coming from Wuhan that's a lot of people, and they need to live somewhere. I reckon this happens more often than children are diagnosed with leukima. Unlikely events happen daily. I'm sorry you lack the critical thinking to understand this. by JimmyTheGinger (Thu 27th Jan 2022 12:29pm)

  • I'm going to look into Food not Bombs. I'm also super interested in volunteering in Plant Grow Share. I've grown some vegetables in the past, it's not something I'm well-versed in but when I lived in Australia I had thousands of dollars worth of house plants and flowers. I used to make cuttings and harvest+sprout seeds and give them away locally. Thanks for the suggestions. by JimmyTheGinger (Fri 28th Jan 2022 7:26am)
  • >What I think is lacking in this area is post-diagnostic support, especially for people who have been diagnosed as adults and might not have had the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to manage the condition effectively. It's also crazy that medical professionals don't seem to understand what ADHD is, so being told to 'google, apply, make a call' etc results in distracted internet-browsing, procrastination and missed called. by JimmyTheGinger (Fri 28th Jan 2022 7:32am)
  • >the sum total of "help" they offer is a 10 minute phone call and some online articles about beating depression by going for a walk Yea, the half-baked cookie-cutter solutions are understandable. It's done because it's cheap and impersonal, but when you look at the economics behind it these 'services' soak up the majority of funding. People donate and government give grants without reviewing or evaluating their efficacy. I hope you're doing well <3 Sending you good luck, love and positive vibes <3 by JimmyTheGinger (Fri 28th Jan 2022 7:30am)

  • I have no idea. The clutter fuck that is [gov.scot](https://gov.scot) needs purged and redesigned. Trying to find anything on that site reminds me of browsing the libary in the 90's. edit: 276 results when searching 'COVID rules' https://www.gov.scot/search/?q=COVID+rules&cat=sitesearch by JimmyTheGinger (Sat 29th Jan 2022 8:40pm)
  • I agree with you, but 90% of people don't know how to google. Even using external/advanced searches it's still a cluster of nonsense. I narrowed down the timescale and tried a couple of searches with differing keywords and still couldn't find anything credible/concrete. It's a failure of the Scottish government for making the information so difficult to find. Our government relies too heavily on TV news and radio ads. by JimmyTheGinger (Sat 29th Jan 2022 9:56pm)

  • You've lived a shelterd life if you think this is anything close to a 'riot'. by JimmyTheGinger (Wed 2nd Feb 2022 9:15pm)
  • Fair. But how does one watch a 1 minute video with more questions than answers and come to the conclusion 'conservatives scum!'? That was an answer to questions unasked. But, to dig my hole deeper.. Lets think about this. Less than half of us vote. A minority of voters vote conservative. You can insert the numbers and calculate a probability based on % of population that vote Tory. If you dig deeper there are also statstics about voter demographic. Not that any of it matters, because we cant' even identify a single person in this video. edit: 63% turnout last election, but that's ananomoly. by JimmyTheGinger (Wed 2nd Feb 2022 9:33pm)
  • Duration. This was over when the video started lol. Also, riots aren’t group fighting. Riots are a pure outpouring of emotions. Frustration, anger etc. Kicking in the door of a pub of opposing football supporters is typical scheme shenanigans. by JimmyTheGinger (Thu 3rd Feb 2022 12:18am)

  • I think this is terrible advice. Tinder is the most shallow place to meet a girl. It's creepy as fuck. Sure, you'll catch some tail but the dating dynamics are strange. It's been years since I used Tinder but I've seen some of the updates to counter-balance the creepy nature of the app, but it still doesn't appeal to me. If you want to meet women, get outside and be social. Don't form any kind of plan, just be open to new experience and work on yourself. Cheesy as fuck, I know, but taking advice from folks on Reddit is the worst thing you could do. edit: With Tinder you'll meet 2 or 3 types of people. Girls that will get straight to buisness and ghost you the next day. Gold diggers. And socially awkward people that read too much reddit and should be in a mental ward because anything you say will upset and offend them. Good luck finding a keeper on Tinder. by JimmyTheGinger (Thu 3rd Feb 2022 12:47am)

  • Welcome to reality. The idea that there's a government body to deal with most issues we consider important is a fascade. Even the police, despite their crazy budget (compared with social services) won't be very interested. Most social services are hollowed out shells of what they should be. Most people think all of this is taken care of, until one day they get involved and realise there is nobdy to turn to. Gaslighting and misdirection is the name of the game. Sorry to hear about your experience. Hopefully you find a resolution. Unless you get media coverage though it'll likely be swept under the rug, the kids will grow old and likely end up in jail when they become adults. by JimmyTheGinger (Tue 22nd Feb 2022 8:02pm)

  • I can understand the chink/paki thing if that's the only thing that person says. In that case it is just a word. However, when they start stringing other words together like "if they don't like it they should go back home" or "if your gonna come to our country you should learn to speak the lingo properly" and all that nonsense I start to give side eyes. Racisim, bigotry, and hate are all much wider concepts than words and I think the "Glasgow ain't racist" when it clearly has serious racial undertones is more akin to a culture not recognising it's own shadow (to reference Carl Jung.) by JimmyTheGinger (Tue 29th Nov 2022 11:15pm)
  • I dunno why, but when I read this, I had a vision of Bill Hicks telling his "I'm for the war and against the troops" joke except it was "I'm for the NHS but against the nurses". Haha I'll honestly say I've found a large majority of nurses and GP receptionists to be bottom of the barrel. Needy, entitled, lazy.. It almost makes me support private healthcare (if I wasn't dirt poor) by JimmyTheGinger (Tue 29th Nov 2022 11:20pm)
  • As a Scottish person who has lived in Nz+Australia for a total of 7+ years I can share some of these experiences, which is strange. Especially in the countryside, and tourists areas, people just don't trust foreigners. They need to deal with us though, because we bring in the money and keep them employed. That's why a lot of people contain their racisim. They're socially intelligent, self aware, machivalian. There's a few studies done that indicate being of a different ethnicity isn't what causes racisim. Asian people in Australia who speak perfect English with an Australian accent are much more welcome than English or British people. by JimmyTheGinger (Tue 29th Nov 2022 11:25pm)
  • Your premises hold a lot of weight however your failing to recognise something. This is the kind of argument you really need statistics for. Because in my world both exist in huge numbers. I know many inter-racial couples. And I had many classmates at my school who were a minority and still found friends. We didn't have huge minority groups, people truly were minorities in the 90's and early 00's so there was no may for those people to hang out en masse. They were forced to make friends. Those who struggled with cultrally blending, for example head scarfs and piercings, or thick accents, or extremely dark skin with bleach white teeth, often ended up alone, but so did the fat kids and the smelly ones. In Australia it was common for each nationality to group up like it was prison life, so you truly are onto something but your arguments need balancing. TLDR; You are correct, many people will say they are not racist but subconciously avoid people not like them. However, your arguments aren't balanced. They feel personal, biased and one sided. by JimmyTheGinger (Tue 29th Nov 2022 11:57pm)
  • I really share your experience. I could write essays in response, especially having some horrific dealings with the NHS, with the worst encounters being recent and ongoing. Also, there's a term.. Not sure, but it's related to personality clusters. It might be machiavilianisim? Certain personalities will seek high status jobs regardless of their interests. They'll want to be a police officers, even if they are anti-social and hate the general public, because people will respect them. They want to be a doctor because doctors are heros and save people and make them better. Certain kinds of people gravitate towards jobs for the sole purpose of social status. Unfortunately, these people are often socially intelligent, and are able to manipulate their way into middle and sometimes upper management. I'm very happy to have read your comments. They're honest words I rarely hear and because of that it can make me feel more alone and I blame myself. However, more recently, people have started to share. Wether that is due to a failing NHS or more willingness to talk or both I'll never know but the one thing I do know is talking honestly and being able to compassionately listen when others are speaking is step one of addressing the problem. by JimmyTheGinger (Wed 30th Nov 2022 12:08am)

Op; I suggest contacting your bank if they don't give your complaint any weight. They will be very quick to give you that refund once you engage with the bank. They will do it themselves without a fight, however, you'll need to find a new taxi company or get the bus. by JimmyTheGinger (Wed 30th Nov 2022 12:16am)

  • It’s Reddit. The downvotes don’t mean shit. Post a bland, generic, conformist statement for upvotes. Question, challenge or doubt for downvotes. This is why a half sentence (literally) gets 5 upvotes and your short paragraph gets downvoted. Redditors can’t read, won’t read, they just sense the general tone and attack. by JimmyTheGinger (Thu 15th Dec 2022 11:20am)

  • Redditors and their entitled questions... You've posted so many replies outraged that OP made a post and disappeared for.. 12 hours. The police are often more violent than necessary, even when it isn't lawful or unnecessary. That's my experience. To see you dumb-founded by the idea of police violence has me curious. Your questions, and engagement on this topic, feel insincere. by JimmyTheGinger (Sun 24th Sep 2023 2:43pm)
  • Here for the ACAB. I'm happy to engage defenders of Police Scotland in a face to face or live-streamed debate. Talk to a magistrate, law office, or even a victim, and they'll tell you that Police Scotland are rude, violent and incompetent. Yet.. Here we are.. 2023. We have Wayne Couzen type characters serving 15 years and reaching high ranks before their evil schemes see the light of day. Police forces up and down the country are admitting fault, vowing to improvement, courts are granting compensation to victims at an exceptional rate... and we still got people eagerly waiting with tongues stretched. by JimmyTheGinger (Sun 24th Sep 2023 2:49pm)

  • The public opinion of policing is rapidly changing. Very few people I speak with in the past 3 years will step up to defend them. I'm starting to get downvotes, but no one has stepped up to accept my invite. I've been raising public awareness of a dysfunction police force and government in the UK for years now, ever since I witnessed the most barbaric fresh-faced coppers out of control and overwhelmed by the simplest of calls. I used to work with police and had to leave due to their increased use of aggression, manipulation, violence, illegal force, and poor attitude. I've been arrested, taken to court, been cleared, and compensated. Most people that are posting here will defend police from ignorance, and are unaware, or unwilling to admit that Wayne Couzen types exist. by JimmyTheGinger (Sun 24th Sep 2023 7:57pm)
  • No. Just no. We charge drug dealers with murder when they supply substances that cause death. You're being inconsistent with reality as it actually is. by JimmyTheGinger (Mon 9th Oct 2023 5:32pm)
  • Palestinians are Nazis..? Or Hamas? The general population is so dim that they've allowed the media to blur the lines between the people of Palestine, the land they occupy, the miliant group Hamas, and the government.. People have no distinction here and it's really sad. People should stop talking if they don't understand that HAMAS IS NOT PALESTINE. by JimmyTheGinger (Mon 9th Oct 2023 5:34pm)
  • What happened in tragic, but it's history repeating. Apartheid and occupied lands breed hatred on a scale we can't comprehend and it's only a matter of time before the pot boils over. by JimmyTheGinger (Mon 9th Oct 2023 9:25pm)
  • Can confirm, I'm from the South side and all the burns in my area growing up had these disgusting bubbles/foam. I always assumed it was some kind of runoff, it looks like a mixture of biological waste, chemicals and aerated burn water. When I lived in Sydney for 5ish years I got used to sea foam during storms and rough weather. I've tried to read more about sea foam but people aren't 100% sure of what it is, it's causes etc. by JimmyTheGinger (Mon 9th Oct 2023 10:02pm)
  • Perpetrators are victims too! They're a victim of.. abuse, like when people molested as children go on to become pedos. Feelsbadman. by JimmyTheGinger (Wed 11th Oct 2023 8:25pm)
  • Sadly, it took me getting MRSA and a compromised immune system before they'd get me off the street. Once my doctor wrote to them, and I threatened them with legal action, I had a PERMANENT home within days. by JimmyTheGinger (Wed 11th Oct 2023 11:02pm)
  • Little things like this make me proud to be Glaswegian. We might be off our nuts but at least we have personality. by JimmyTheGinger (Wed 1st Nov 2023 7:42pm)
  • I dunno if COVID is to blame but it's been too expensive to leave home. I'm saving my bus fares for Winter. Canada, Russia, yes aw think your as real as Jolly Boy John??? by JimmyTheGinger (Fri 3rd Nov 2023 8:46pm)
  • Honestly, as someone who used to live overseas and come home in 2019, get out of the UK. I'm sorry to hear what's happened but.. This is Glasgow. We peaked in the 2000's with 2010 looking like 1990 and 2020 looking like 1980. by JimmyTheGinger (Mon 6th Nov 2023 11:17am)
