  • Avoid, avoid like the plague. by McBamm (Tue 31st Aug 2021 2:05pm)
  • Not exactly one of the nicest places in Glasgow, not one of the worst. Know people who taxied for dunkies and some of the worst pickups were allegedly Shettleston Road, heard some horror stories. If you’re not from the area and especially for you are a woman I would keep your wits about you at all times. Bear in mind at all times that you are somewhere with one of the lowest life expectancies in Europe. by McBamm (Tue 31st Aug 2021 5:23pm)
  • I think it’s because they know fine well they’re going to win, they don’t want the risk of an assault/manslaughter charge when they deck the aggressor. by McBamm (Sun 31st Oct 2021 3:32pm)
  • Even online Glaswegians still shout at each other over nothing. Stunning to see by McBamm (Mon 1st Nov 2021 8:48pm)
  • If survivors are to be believed there’s at least one person pushing some of them in. by McBamm (Mon 15th Nov 2021 7:54pm)
  • I can’t imagine what you’re going through. From a stranger, I’m sorry for your loss. by McBamm (Wed 24th Nov 2021 9:48pm)
  • From speaking to other people, adult mental health charities are shite. You’re not alone mate. From past experience youth charities seem to have much better resources and funding. I do know through someone who struggles with depression that Gal Gael is a brilliant resource if you need to get out the house and meet new people. Men’s shed is also a great shout. I hope you find what you’re needing. by McBamm (Thu 27th Jan 2022 10:12pm)
  • Poked the bear with a stick here mate. by McBamm (Mon 31st Jan 2022 3:37pm)
  • Xanax or Valium. Mixed with enough stupidity to get in a car while they’re on it. At least they’re too out of it to avoid jail time. by McBamm (Mon 31st Jan 2022 3:41pm)
  • No one deserves violence for going to watch a game of football. Any troglodyte that thinks setting about someone “cause he’s a fenian/hun” is a good idea needs serious help. by McBamm (Thu 3rd Feb 2022 10:22am)
  • Interesting to see that there’s a definite gradient from poverty to affluence in Edinburgh whereas in Glasgow you’ve top tier quality of life a street away from abject poverty. by McBamm (Wed 9th Feb 2022 2:23pm)
  • Here’s the link: https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/news/glasgow-news/glasgow-council-urged-sell-salvador-23235184 Multiple other sources have the story as well. I doubt the twat spouting this nonsense will have any impact but it’s not fake. by McBamm (Mon 28th Feb 2022 12:36pm)
  • Thanks for doing me one extra and reading it. Guy isn’t so much of a twat after all then. by McBamm (Mon 28th Feb 2022 2:38pm)
  • Girlfriend had a driver that insisted “he knew the truth about covid” and that “they’re after me hen” the full journey. Got to the point he was demonstrating the unsafe driving he’d made to “avoid them killing him” i.e. swerving in and out of the wrong lane. Safe to say she was terrified. by McBamm (Tue 8th Mar 2022 8:41pm)
  • Make a spicy joke, they’ll be with you in minutes. by McBamm (Fri 25th Mar 2022 11:29am)
  • I’d put money on you living in the west end… by McBamm (Sun 27th Mar 2022 7:24pm)
  • The better places in the east end have parks that are perfectly useable minus graffiti. It’s all the same funding, just no bored, deprived kids and addicts to destroy them. by McBamm (Thu 31st Mar 2022 7:54pm)
  • Treat everything you read online as fiction if it’s not got proof. That being said, the above story is bang on about a lot of homeless people just having shit luck. by McBamm (Wed 20th Apr 2022 10:49pm)

  • You alright mate? by McBamm (Sat 21st May 2022 12:30am)
  • Seen someone wear one with matching joggies. Probably to get a reaction, they must know they look like a nonce. by McBamm (Sat 21st May 2022 12:37am)
  • It’s not just the town. Glasgow has mostly good people, good public transport, and lovely parks. The trouble lies in a rising cost of living; antisocial behaviour from disadvantaged kids is getting more extreme by the day; the roads are worse than Eastern Europe and there’s a severe lack of money for nearly every public service or to inject into businesses. The answer is yes, things have been getting worse. If there’s no support or money for the things making it worse (looks like there’s not going to be for a long time) it’s only going to go further downhill. by McBamm (Mon 23rd May 2022 6:05pm)
  • Saw an interview with him, seems like a really nice bloke. Dances in the town to keep pushing through recovery. by McBamm (Sun 5th Jun 2022 6:49pm)
  • I second this. I was in a situation where I was witness to a big group of wee neds arguing with each other and pedestrians. Talk of someone getting stabbed got thrown around. I’ve never seen a police response that large and fast after I told 999 I thought at least one wee fanny had a knife. If you want this taken seriously that might be an option OP. by McBamm (Thu 30th Jun 2022 3:46pm)
  • gr - Don’t start sentences with because. gr - They’re is required in this sentence. gr - ‘Fanny’ singular refers to someone like yourself, a group of people like you are ‘fannies’. The ‘ies’ at the end pluralises it. Fix your grammar and who knows, you might end up being one of those people graduating UofG. by McBamm (Wed 6th Jul 2022 6:22pm)
  • Talked to folk that live beside it, only issue they’ve ever had is the litter afterwards. We’ve all done it, and as long as it’s not Calvin Harris levels of mental there shouldn’t be anyone complaining. by McBamm (Fri 8th Jul 2022 4:12pm)
  • It’s a minor inconvenience for a nicer looking area in return. IMO if you show that tiny bit of respect to where you live you’ll be happier to live there. by McBamm (Sun 17th Jul 2022 4:14pm)
  • There’s not really a student job available that won’t come with some degree of social interaction. Someone else might be able to prove me wrong. I’d recommend speaking to your University counselling team to see what help can be provided for the way you feel, and if it’s causing major issues possibly bring it up with your GP. by McBamm (Mon 18th Jul 2022 8:16pm)
  • It’s not a bad thing to realise how bad things are and how they could be. I leave this city regularly, travelling within the UK. I go abroad semi regularly. Every time I come back I get instantly depressed at how much potential this shite-hole has, and how bad it’s getting. by McBamm (Thu 21st Jul 2022 5:38pm)
  • Bring it up with folk and they brush it off with the ‘grass is always greener’ or the classic ‘it’s bad everywhere’. Total lack of ambition or hope seems to be common place at least in my social and family circle. by McBamm (Thu 21st Jul 2022 7:50pm)

  • There’s a difference between being a bored teenager and being a vicious little cunt. Even then the social issues causing the antisocial behaviour don’t excuse the antisocial behaviour. by McBamm (Thu 21st Jul 2022 10:30pm)
  • Knew the city centre was getting bad after my mate got brutalised for walking down Buchanan Street. The East End seems to be getting exponentially worse in terms of physical appearance and antisocial/violent behaviour. by McBamm (Fri 22nd Jul 2022 6:31pm)
  • Someone I know got hooked on codeine after a back injury. They didn’t lose employment or any custodial rights; they just got help when they went to their GP. I’m not sure of any resources outside of going to a doctor, then again the doctor will probably be able to point you towards additional outlets for help. I hope this helps, and that you’re able to get better. by McBamm (Sat 30th Jul 2022 12:42am)
  • £200 to slash tires? You would have been had… by McBamm (Sun 31st Jul 2022 9:28pm)
  • Saw it myself. Two distinguished gentlemen doing lines off of the table across from a young mum and her toddler. Workie shouted at them to rap because of the child; they then threatened to assault the workie, the mother, and the child. by McBamm (Wed 3rd Aug 2022 9:50pm)
  • Looks like they live in or around Portland, Oregon. Read some news about the place and you’ll see its a hole in the ground. Says a lot about her standards for a nice city. by McBamm (Thu 4th Aug 2022 4:01pm)
  • Not really sure if you’ll find anything interesting underneath Glasgow. I’ve seen footage of bunkers and abandoned underground facilities around Glasgow and slightly farther away that are a lot more interesting. by McBamm (Fri 5th Aug 2022 3:04pm)
  • Timetable says it should have been the bus going via Baillieston, because of what’s going on it wouldn’t surprise me that the Baillieston bus was running late and like another commenter said the Maxim Park bus hadn’t switched his sign from the last journey. by McBamm (Sun 7th Aug 2022 6:31pm)
  • Probably the most likely explanation. by McBamm (Sun 7th Aug 2022 6:30pm)
  • I actually agree. We’ve got it bad but fuck me some Western cities make Glasgow look like Disneyland. by McBamm (Sun 7th Aug 2022 10:59pm)
  • Spoke to my GP about vaping when I was in, out of concern for someone I know vaping regularly, they told me the practise is seeing teenagers with CPOD like symptoms within a year of picking disposables up. It wouldn’t surprise me if the long term effects of these things are worse than smoking. by McBamm (Mon 8th Aug 2022 11:22am)
  • I disagree with you on every aspect of your original comment but yeah, name calling proves a lack of an argument. by McBamm (Tue 9th Aug 2022 12:32pm)
  • My GF’s Granda caught a chest infection recently and it was nearly very serious. I’m convinced covid precautions have lowered our exposure to the usual nasties and now when we catch those they’re taking root a lot harder. by McBamm (Tue 9th Aug 2022 1:56pm)
  • r/Glasgow. The peak of civilised exchanges. by McBamm (Wed 10th Aug 2022 8:57am)
  • Small businesses aren’t the only ones that are going to go under… My mate works for a massive restaurant chain, it was previously one of the best performing locations in the UK. He keeps saying they’re running a skeleton crew of reliable staff a good few days a week (post lockdown this was only really happening on a slow day every couple of weeks) and his boss is telling him that they’re close to making a large number of staff redundant. He’s seeing fractional footfall compared to a few months ago and serving staff are getting tuppence in tips from customers that are coming in, alongside making tiny orders. He’s convinced he’s not going to have a job much longer. by McBamm (Wed 10th Aug 2022 12:10pm)
  • What ye gonnae dae then, when it aw kicks aff? by McBamm (Wed 10th Aug 2022 12:18pm)

  • Some heavy duty fireworks if folk across the city were hearing it. by McBamm (Thu 11th Aug 2022 2:36pm)
  • The lassie that posted the video shared a screenshot in the comments, it looks like he was coming back up the stairs with a chib. Obviously that’s why she ran. She really needs to report this to the police. by McBamm (Sat 13th Aug 2022 10:41am)
  • Tolerance of LGBT folk and POC is non existent. Small business near me nearly shut for good after consistent racial abuse and vandalism. Casual homophobic abuse on the street seems to be commonplace too. Worst part is it’s all kids doing it. by McBamm (Wed 17th Aug 2022 1:29pm)
  • Get the impression from his autobiography and his streams that he’s not the happiest of blokes. Think that’s the case with a lot of comedians but. by McBamm (Fri 19th Aug 2022 5:08pm)

  • Some really good ideas in there and a tad too much idealism. Thanks for posting. by McBamm (Tue 30th Aug 2022 4:58pm)
  • Street play parks and gyms in the city centre are a nice idea but would last a couple of weeks with the way the town is currently. Enhanced cycling infrastructure is going to get used by Übereats cyclists more than anyone else. Those were the two that really stick out in my mind, can’t be arsed going back through the full survey to prove a point on Reddit. by McBamm (Wed 31st Aug 2022 1:04pm)
  • Considering your comment history it’s not too late to get help. Lashing out at strangers online fixes nothing. by McBamm (Wed 31st Aug 2022 5:48pm)
  • Try to get it on paper that that was the amount they were going to pay you. Don’t take it as someone else has said (unless you’re desperate for cash) since from what I’ve read you won’t be eligible for compensation from the employer. by McBamm (Mon 5th Sep 2022 8:05pm)
  • Spending your Friday night attacking someone based on their religious beliefs and opinions really says a lot about you. It costs nothing to be nice and respectful to others. by McBamm (Sat 10th Sep 2022 12:45pm)

  • Aye, I agree, but hopefully the council will be instructed to get the finger out and get the city centre in half decent nick for all the tourists. Potential silver lining. by McBamm (Tue 27th Sep 2022 5:21pm)
  • No. It’s not safe, Glasgow is statistically more dangerous for women than Edinburgh by a significant margin. Speaking from experience those statistics sound about right. Either go with other people and stick together like glue or don’t go at all. by McBamm (Sat 1st Oct 2022 11:25pm)
  • My mate worked at JD in a shopping centre, they told me they had a few regular Asian customers who came in once a month or so and would buy a good grand worth of shoes, all different sizes, different departments, different brands. Staff reckoned it was all to order for folk back home; maybe these people are doing the same thing? by McBamm (Tue 11th Oct 2022 8:44pm)
  • I completely agree, more people in the city means more cash going about the city. by McBamm (Sun 16th Oct 2022 6:43pm)

  • They were setting them off round my bit from 11am to 3am. For the past few days they’ve been waiting until 3-4am and setting them off for a few hours. It’s an excuse to be as antisocial as possible and they jump at the chance. by McBamm (Sun 6th Nov 2022 8:57am)
  • Helped someone convert a summer house into one for about a couple of grand (including the summerhouse, waterproofing, basing and insulation materials as well as a sparky to fit power). If you set aside a couple of weekends and get a mate to help its not too bad doing it yourself. by McBamm (Wed 9th Nov 2022 4:22pm)
  • To my knowledge the police are fucking backwards with dangerous dogs. Unless the animals cause grievous injury to you or your pup the police won’t pursue it. It’s going to take a dog or person getting badly injured or killed for them to consider taking things seriously. by McBamm (Sat 26th Nov 2022 4:08pm)
  • Sadly a good self defence option that gets you a serious date in court, but it would work. by McBamm (Sun 27th Nov 2022 10:10am)
  • I vaguely remember a thread from ages ago on another subreddit where a bloke’s Yeezy’s got nicked by the Glasgow depot. Fuckers stole the shoes and gave him an empty shoebox. Long story short he raised merry hell and got them back in a plastic bag, they told him they’d ‘went missing’. If you feel like it, cause enough hassle and there’s a chance you can get the jewellery back. Just don’t expect the thief to get any recourse. by McBamm (Tue 29th Nov 2022 11:04pm)
  • Higher end stuff: Represent, occasionally Flannels. Lower end stuff: River Island, Uniqlo, Zara. If you want decent quality and well priced blanks Zara man and Uniqlo is your best bet. Stuff lasts a decent while. If you’re willing to put out a bit more I highly recommend Represent, quality to price is unmatched. by McBamm (Wed 30th Nov 2022 10:34am)
  • Zara man plain T-shirt would run you about £12, I’ve got a few that I’ve had for years. A pair of jeans would be about £30 and the pair I’ve got has also lasted me ages. There’s a Zara in the town, one up Glasgow Fort, and they’ve got an online storefront here: https://www.zara.com/uk/en/man-basics-mkt587.html?v1=2112954 by McBamm (Wed 30th Nov 2022 9:07pm)

  • Wonder if it’s linked to St Enoch centre and that plane to Bristol from Poland that’s been grounded in Prague over a potential bomb. by McBamm (Mon 5th Dec 2022 2:38pm)
  • My advice would be to not move out. Rent is atrocious, on your budget you’ll be renting a shit flat in a shit area or gambling on good flat mates. I know folk still at home in their twenties saving to move out comfortably with decent savings. Folk I know that are on bad wages are really struggling right now, some are considering moving back in with their parents. If staying at home is an option then take it, you’ll be a lot happier in the long run. Digs are a lot cheaper than rent at the moment. by McBamm (Mon 12th Dec 2022 5:02pm)
  • Coming home from the pub last night was surreal. Dead streets, silent hill levels of fog, frozen cobwebs everywhere and not a peep other than the odd car in the distance. by McBamm (Wed 14th Dec 2022 5:44pm)
  • When the council fails to do its job then people need to step up instead of complaining. Council managed to grit a single stretch of pavement in my area, people stepped up and tackled the rest. If the government is too incompetent to look out for the community then it’s up to the community to look after itself. by McBamm (Thu 15th Dec 2022 5:36pm)
  • Why are folk making fun of you? This is useful information if you’re travelling. by McBamm (Wed 28th Dec 2022 10:45am)
  • I don’t know if they think it’s cool to be antisocial or it’s just generations of antisocial defectives bringing each other up to cause absolute misery for others. No normal human being thinks it’s acceptable to do what they do. by McBamm (Thu 12th Jan 2023 7:57pm)
  • Someone else has probably mentioned it, but Pollock Park is great (especially for dogs or kids) and the house is well worth a look about. by McBamm (Sun 22nd Jan 2023 1:51pm)
  • Didn’t want to make a Facebook maw level post, so I’ll do a comment. Long story short there’s a new shop opened up at Glasgow Fort called DIB, that I’m certain was selling a fake Dior bag at the real price. Does anyone know who I can report that to? All of the real models of the Monogram Book Bag have no zip, and a relatively thin font on the front. This bag had a zip, and the wrong font. It was priced at a smidge below retail of a couple grand. Missus knows more about bags than I do and called it fake, I also verified the flaws on a fake bags sub. Does anyone know the relevant authority to chase that with? Don’t want someone getting ripped off, and fuck knows what else they’re selling that’s fake. by McBamm (Sun 22nd Jan 2023 3:18pm)
  • Cheers, I’ll chase that now. by McBamm (Sun 22nd Jan 2023 3:33pm)
  • The bill allows you to change your gender on paper at 16, not physically. Considering there’s MPs that haven’t read this bill (that they’re in charge of passing) properly I don’t blame you. by McBamm (Sun 29th Jan 2023 6:59pm)
  • I’d agree with you if one side wasn’t getting an even say and protest. This is freedom of speech in action. by McBamm (Sun 29th Jan 2023 7:02pm)
  • It’s really good socialisation when they’re an older puppy, but only if you keep them out of shops and can read when it’s too much for them. This is Glasgow though, where the average dog has fuck all training *let alone* socialisation. They’ll be taking the dog because they can. by McBamm (Thu 9th Feb 2023 10:17pm)
  • Those videos all come from behind a bus garage, the bloke in the clips always wears blue overalls. Modern clips are all likely just a mechanic living out the legend. by McBamm (Sat 4th Mar 2023 11:11am)
  • Somebody has already said it but if your bright and not academic, training to be a sparky is a good way to go. From what I understand the hours are decent and the pay is good. by McBamm (Thu 9th Mar 2023 7:41pm)
  • I’m a Rangers fan; out of all the others I know (young and old) I was the only one that voted SNP instead of Labour you fud. Your team does not determine your political ideology. by McBamm (Fri 10th Mar 2023 4:22pm)
  • As OP mentioned they’re über strict about getting conformation from the police it was actually nicked. Don’t want to sound like a wannabe hard man but having your car be “stolen” isn’t very difficult if you know who to ask. by McBamm (Fri 24th Mar 2023 12:39am)
  • Too right, folk either posting to vent their grievances or hijacking posts to have a moan in the comments. Between that and the fighting in the comments the sub has been grim. by McBamm (Sun 26th Mar 2023 3:50pm)
  • Not only are you having a go at someone for stating the obvious, you’re slagging them with yank patter that went out of date in the 80s. It costs nothing to not be a cunt nor make a cunt of yourself. by McBamm (Fri 14th Apr 2023 10:48pm)

There was a bloke arrested and explosives seized a few months ago in Carntyne as well (that was in connection with a device found in Cambuslang): https://headtopics.com/uk/man-appears-in-court-after-bomb-squad-locked-down-street-over-suspicious-package-31831425 by McBamm (Mon 17th Apr 2023 7:23pm)
  • Sit and think about what you’ve done wee man. Person is heartbroken about losing their dog and you’re rattling off inappropriate memes at them, how is that helpful? How is that going to make them feel? by McBamm (Tue 18th Apr 2023 5:37pm)
  • I’d imagine covering this has too much potential for a legal strumash either against or kicked off by GlasgowLive. by McBamm (Fri 5th May 2023 5:43pm)
  • Only issue would be relying on your neighbours keeping the back and front door locked. You can’t underestimate the will power these poor fuckers have to get in, though. by McBamm (Tue 16th May 2023 11:43am)
  • What would folk age them as? Could swear I recognise them, but the person I’m thinking of is in their twenties now. As an aside, I’ll be able to look them up on Facebook later. by McBamm (Mon 22nd May 2023 12:56pm)
  • Aye definitely. Needed reassurance. by McBamm (Mon 22nd May 2023 1:00pm)
  • Too right, a full thread here amounts to: “Ha, look we caught him! He’s a hun, that’s why he’s outraged! Not at the appalling behaviour! Not at the criminal damage, vandalism and underage drinking! He’s a fucking mason!”. Folk should get a grip and own up that adults behaving like this in broad daylight is a fucking embarrassment no matter what. by McBamm (Sun 28th May 2023 11:36pm)
  • Aye I know of a couple of folk who worked in McDonalds and KFC early on at Uni and know someone that’s a manager now. It’s apparently like working with slow children. by McBamm (Tue 30th May 2023 7:20pm)
  • Do mean like Issey Miyake pleats? In person was futile, it was the same story looking online. Your best bet is getting the real deal or a pair of reps. by McBamm (Fri 9th Jun 2023 2:05pm)
  • Aye I’m the same. Retired bloke down the road got a Triumph through lockdown and will take it out two, three times a day to speed around the scheme and take it back in. Lovely bike as well and it’s never seen any real distance. by McBamm (Thu 15th Jun 2023 12:25pm)
  • I watch a bit of combat footage now and again and so do a few of my friends, we don’t start loudly discussing Ukrainian body cams at the pub. Folk would think we are nuts. It shouldn’t be any different talking about Japanese nonce cartoons. by McBamm (Mon 19th Jun 2023 8:20pm)

  • How the fuck do you get refugee status in Scotland if you’ve been living in Pakistan? If that’s the case I’m moving to Possil and applying for asylum in Zurich… by McBamm (Sat 15th Jul 2023 12:09pm)
  • Genuinely don’t understand why you’re getting downvoted. Up until the edited section I was raging wondering why they hadn’t reported it yet and was myself about to ask OP why they hadn’t reported it to the police. by McBamm (Fri 21st Jul 2023 7:59pm)
  • I think he’s trying to say they get put up and when the council can’t find the resources to get rid of them they conveniently become permanent anti terror measures. by McBamm (Wed 26th Jul 2023 4:20pm)
  • Too right. Most folk I know are trying to get out of this hole because we don’t want to raise kids here. You’re bringing two sixteen year olds into the country to crash every Higher they’ll be sitting for them to then be locked out of dozens of opportunities (including free uni tuition) when things are objectively as bad as they’ve been since the 90s. Sincerely think about what you’re doing. by McBamm (Sun 30th Jul 2023 1:38pm)
  • I’m a bit pished so excuse the spelling. I’ve been to China, anything outside of Beijing/Shanghai is the eastern equivalent to Glasgow if not worse. The infrastructure is a joke, it’s cardboard held together with chewing gum (Google it, you’ll see the amount of disasters they’ve had in recent memory). Have you seen the average living conditions of a Chinese person? Coffin sized flats for a fortune where you’ll inhale leaded petrol from the motorways below. The reason the students here, decked out in Gucci and Off White, leave again isn’t because they dislike the place, funnily enough it’s because they’re at the top end of the economic food chain back home. If you lived in Shettleston the city (I.E. Tianjin) you’d leap at the opportunity to live here. by McBamm (Fri 4th Aug 2023 12:03am)
  • I was pished after seeing a mate for the first time in ages, I doubt you know what that feels like. Just because I got leathered on a Thursday doesn’t mean I’m A) not in employment that lets me do that and B) not also in the best shape I’ve ever been. I don’t know if you’re severely on the spectrum but people live very different and more fulfilling lives than you. by McBamm (Sat 5th Aug 2023 4:34pm)
  • If they do show up at your door you can legally tell them to fuck off or you’re phoning the police. They’re not an officer of the court (I.E. a bailiff) and won’t have a search warrant, they cannot enter your property without your express permission. by McBamm (Sun 6th Aug 2023 1:05pm)
  • Cancel all cards etc and contact your embassy to get a hold of temporary documents. I’ll be a realist and say the chances of seeing that wallet again are slim to none, if you feel inclined you can try the police to see if it was handed in. by McBamm (Mon 7th Aug 2023 5:55pm)
  • That’s disgraceful, but what kind of gigs are you going to where that happens? by McBamm (Tue 8th Aug 2023 9:54pm)
  • Sadly some people are incapable of understanding the words “fuck off”. Dad’s mate dealt with a horrid old cunt of a neighbour for close to a decade that only stopped making insane amounts of noise once she died. Couldn’t be reasoned with, wouldn’t be intimidated. by McBamm (Sat 19th Aug 2023 3:47pm)
  • Learned first hand during covid how easily people fall down that rabbit hole so I struggle to get angry at them. Poor souls have been brainwashed, from what I saw they’ve likely pushed everyone around them away besides those that are in the cult. They need help, not ridiculed. by McBamm (Fri 25th Aug 2023 11:51am)
  • Perversely waiting to get the training through an employer is going to be more costly than just getting the training independently. From a glance at indeed anywhere that wants a barista wants an experienced one. by McBamm (Mon 28th Aug 2023 8:55pm)
  • I thought folk were talking shite talking about drones spying on them. Report them to the police OP, dirty pervert. by McBamm (Sat 2nd Sep 2023 4:43pm)
  • Is there not talk of the council going the same way as Birmingham? I understand where you’re coming from but on a large scale it would make things worse and if it was just you I’d expect bailiffs, not change. by McBamm (Thu 7th Sep 2023 9:24pm)
  • Aye men do and some of them look really good, but it’s no one’s business to judge why they got it done. by McBamm (Fri 8th Sep 2023 9:14pm)
  • They look that much like clones of each other don’t they? At least they’re not all wearing the baggy incontinence trousers any more... by McBamm (Sun 10th Sep 2023 9:25pm)
  • I’m not meaning to be a cunt but maybe report the said wanker to the relevant authorities next time instead of Reddit. You’re probably best venting into a group chat as well, we all know these people exist, we report them and get on with things/vent to mates. by McBamm (Wed 13th Sep 2023 6:53pm)
  • A bloke covered in pigeons on Sauchiehall street. He was literally covered in pigeons that were getting in at the seeds he had in his hands, at his feet, on his arms… I don’t have time now but if I dig for it I’ve got a photo somewhere. by McBamm (Tue 19th Sep 2023 2:10pm)
  • Off the top of my head younger folk that can’t afford to move out but need a car for work or leisure are at a total disadvantage. I can name two people who would have had to quit their job or spend a fortune on unreliable taxis at antisocial hours. by McBamm (Sat 23rd Sep 2023 12:35pm)
  • Going as David Burn I take it? I can’t remember the store off the top of my head but I think Barnardos had (had) a shop that sells exclusively wedding/formal gear. Fuck knows if it’s still there though. by McBamm (Mon 2nd Oct 2023 12:34pm)
  • I’m really sorry mate it’s in Irvine and it only does gowns. I could have sworn it did suits for blokes as well but alas I’m wrong. by McBamm (Mon 2nd Oct 2023 4:38pm)
  • He’s known for burning down the house. by McBamm (Mon 2nd Oct 2023 4:37pm)
  • I know through folk that work in the ambulance service that one got himself knocked off the bike by an ambulance recently (because of what you detailed). Through broken English he refused help and as soon as he was told the police would be there soon to get a statement he got back on the “bike” and was off like the clappers. The person I spoke to speculated they were working illegally and/or using the bike because they can’t get a UK licence. Either way they know it’s dangerous and illegal but don’t give a shit, it’s mental. by McBamm (Sun 8th Oct 2023 7:54pm)
  • Exactly, OP is a fucking moron. Not the time nor place to give these barbarians any leeway, they deserve what’s coming. by McBamm (Mon 9th Oct 2023 12:50pm)
  • Wouldn’t surprise me to be honest, do you have any sources I can look at? by McBamm (Mon 9th Oct 2023 5:46pm)
  • Rab infinium down jacket for outside (it’s pricey but it’s waterproof and breathable, they do repairs for it as well) and a cheap snuggy type thing for in the house. Get used to it because this is the best of the cold weather. by McBamm (Wed 11th Oct 2023 9:02pm)
  • Completely. Some people would rather go nowhere despite being given golden opportunities considering their circumstances. They know they can be a drain on our communities and we’ll foot the bill for them behaving like scum. Vividly remember there being apprenticeship opportunities in school that the careers bloke was getting KB from because the bastards kept taking them for the cash and never showing up. by McBamm (Fri 13th Oct 2023 4:10pm)
  • Chickens for KFC out in force today. by McBamm (Sat 14th Oct 2023 8:11pm)
  • >solidarity with Palestine. “Poor you, your Islamic fundamentalist leaders with majority support raped and pillaged thousands of innocent civilians enjoying western freedom. You’d definitely not do that to us without a moment’s hesitation.” by McBamm (Sun 15th Oct 2023 12:20pm)
  • That was a journey looking at that, fucking hell. by McBamm (Mon 16th Oct 2023 10:32pm)
  • Saw someone’s post earlier where you can see someone walking about this protest with a trans pride flag. They’re walking among folk with kaftans on and signs saying “take it back by any means”. So focused on good boy points they don’t see the hypocrisy. by McBamm (Sat 21st Oct 2023 10:39pm)
  • They could be original Adidas forums (which I’m not sure you’d even get that much for in that nick) but they look like recent releases. You can get them for £70ish on sale brand new. by McBamm (Mon 23rd Oct 2023 5:02pm)

  • You do understand that Hamas (the group that would want your head on a stick) are going to hoard and control the aid distribution? That’s definitely ended well throughout modern history… Definitely. by McBamm (Sat 28th Oct 2023 3:53pm)
  • >This reads like someone insufferably annoying I knew from school. They would spit out random information that didn’t really go anywhere. Does my above statement have any relevance to a public forum about local advice, news or general information? No? Then how is your post relevant? by McBamm (Mon 30th Oct 2023 6:56pm)
  • I think they’re talking about the poor African refugee that had a mental health crisis and killed a couple of other refugees and then himself. They were (are?) in the hotel as temporary accommodation, like many across the country. When it was initially breaking I believe the police and press acted on it being a possible terror incident. by McBamm (Sun 5th Nov 2023 9:18pm)
  • Had a look there, I couldn’t find anything about Bath Street but you’re right that incident happened there. by McBamm (Sun 5th Nov 2023 9:25pm)

  • I’m right in saying in London they steal the watches to sell at a discount to other professional criminals, aren’t I? I don’t think there’s a big enough population of bankers to mug in Glasgow to establish a market for bigger dealers/actual gangsters. by McBamm (Mon 20th Nov 2023 5:52pm)
  • You’re the only username I recognise on Reddit for having pointless verbals with random people. And you’re saying that? by McBamm (Thu 23rd Nov 2023 9:55pm)

  • It’s a shame that that old M&S building burned down… Oh wait I’m about 6 months early. by McBamm (Tue 28th Nov 2023 7:19pm)
  • Mitchell Library or the James McCune Smith Learning Hub at UofG. I don’t think many places would be happy with you taking a seat 9-5. by McBamm (Wed 29th Nov 2023 9:34pm)
  • At the risk of sounding like a racist, that would explain some of the insane driving I’ve seen going through Pollokshields. As in no concept of the Highway Code or signage bad. Is it a handful of people or a common occurrence? Because yes, if you can drive you can do so drunk or without a license without getting caught. by McBamm (Thu 30th Nov 2023 4:27pm)
  • Aye that’s this one, wee man didn’t stand a chance with a mum that thick. I’m not that sure if she’d even get a payout because of her negligence and his behaviour. by McBamm (Sun 3rd Dec 2023 7:25pm)

  • Considering you’ve got westerners denying they’ve been raping these hostages or arguing that they deserve what’s coming, it’s the perfect way for them to keep the brain-dead on side. by McBamm (Tue 5th Dec 2023 11:27am)
  • I meant people arguing that these innocent civilians deserve being held prisoner and likely killed. I see your point though, you poke a group with a stick enough they’ll take a swing at you (via any means they see fit), as we’ve seen in the examples you gave. by McBamm (Tue 5th Dec 2023 5:55pm)
  • Step 1: Post pictures of yourself in an area Facebook page claiming you’re a beast. Step 2: Stand outside local schools; parks; nurseries. Step 3: See how long it takes to get a chase off somebody. by McBamm (Sat 9th Dec 2023 3:27pm)
  • Obviously women get spiked, but it happened to my mate earlier in the year. Same circumstances as your mate, only a couple of drinks but he doesn’t remember getting put to bed. Same as you, no one could work out why someone would do it to a bloke with other blokes. Slightly tangential, but was he vomiting up black shit getting home or this morning? by McBamm (Mon 11th Dec 2023 12:00am)
  • Sounds like he was spiked. I’m glad he’s okay but tell him to see a doctor, these things can be dangerous. by McBamm (Mon 11th Dec 2023 12:39pm)
  • No clue at all, it’s a strange symptom though so I was wondering how common it was. Thankfully I’ve not had anyone else to ask that question. by McBamm (Mon 11th Dec 2023 12:44pm)
  • Cheers, IIRC he was ill for a day or two and then was right as rain. He probably should have seen a doctor though. by McBamm (Mon 11th Dec 2023 12:41pm)
