  • There are lots of open water swimming groups around Glasgow. I’ve made some good friends through that. by Purp1eP1atypus (Fri 29th Jul 2022 7:04pm)
  • I’ve found security at Glasgow to be fine. Bag drop though …!!! If you’re flying EasyJet to AMS I’d definitely leave a bit of extra time if you have bags to drop and double check your carry on sizes as they do have a habit of checking at Glasgow! by Purp1eP1atypus (Sat 30th Jul 2022 2:00pm)
  • White Loch is good. It’s on the Stewarton road between Newton mearns and Stewarton. Lots of groups meet up there and some people cycle there. But it’s not great for public transport. Duck Bay and Abies are also good. But not sure about public transport to either. by Purp1eP1atypus (Sat 30th Jul 2022 3:05pm)
  • You could probably get to Chatelherault on the train. There’s some nice swimming in the river there. by Purp1eP1atypus (Sat 30th Jul 2022 8:36pm)
  • What about Vega at Yotel? by Purp1eP1atypus (Sun 31st Jul 2022 10:16pm)
  • I don’t think anyone (legit) will do an adjustment without an initial consultation. They can do real damage if it’s not done properly. by Purp1eP1atypus (Mon 1st Aug 2022 11:21am)
  • A wax is one thing but I wouldn’t mess around with lash stuff. They’re working so close to your eyes it doesn’t take much for something to go wrong. Also - Always listen to your gut. I know you want to get it down before your hols. But I once had someone wax the skin off my underarm when I went in for a wax before a holiday 😲😲😲 So I always go somewhere recommended now and not take any chances. Can you find somewhere else before your holidays?? (I’m not a girly girl either but I love getting my eyebrows and eyelashes done. It makes a big difference) by Purp1eP1atypus (Mon 1st Aug 2022 2:56pm)
  • You know like when you scape your finger and it takes the top layer of skin off? It was like that. Bloody agony. Never again!! 😖 by Purp1eP1atypus (Tue 2nd Aug 2022 9:59am)
  • Every sub I think! by Purp1eP1atypus (Tue 2nd Aug 2022 7:53pm)
  • I’ve DM’d you by Purp1eP1atypus (Tue 2nd Aug 2022 10:00pm)
  • There is a sober girls Glasgow group if you’re interested. It’s on Facebook and Instagram, but most active on WhatsApp. Wide range of ages from mid 20’s to late 40’s and we do various activities … pretty much whatever anyone wants to do or organise! Hill walks, wild swimming, dinners out, bowling, crazy golf, etc. Let me know if you want any more details. by Purp1eP1atypus (Tue 2nd Aug 2022 10:18pm)
  • We sold a house in England which was like this. There was no permission for the conservatory and we could have been approached to take it down. We bought an insurance policy to cover the costs should it happen. The policy wasn’t very expensive - less than £50 ten years ago. But it meant the buyers didn’t have any risk. Not sure if you can do that in Scotland but might be worth finding out if your sellers will do the same. by Purp1eP1atypus (Tue 2nd Aug 2022 10:44pm)
  • Are you on Facebook? The easiest thing to do is to join the group there. Not sure if the link will work but here it is! • DELETED I would say either the south side or west end of Glasgow. Nice restaurants, cafes, bars etc in both. Parks and open spaces for walks. And easy access out of the city when you want it. If they’re picking up the costs I’d probably plump for west end over southside. by Purp1eP1atypus (Sun 21st Aug 2022 8:56pm)
  • Thx. Should have checked the profile 🙈 by Purp1eP1atypus (Sun 21st Aug 2022 9:17pm)
  • If you’ve preordered the phone and arranged to pick it up in store then you had to have a time slot to do so. But even still there’s usually a big queue. Depending on what you need to go in for, it might be worth making an appointment. by Purp1eP1atypus (Thu 15th Sep 2022 10:41am)
  • Yep. Was a good place. by Purp1eP1atypus (Fri 16th Sep 2022 8:54pm)
  • Whiskey (with an “E”) is only used for Irish Whiskey. Whisky (without an “E”) is used for Scotch whisky. An important difference 😜 Enjoy your tastings! 🥃 by Purp1eP1atypus (Fri 16th Sep 2022 8:50pm)

  • I did an induction at crossfit East Kilbride a number of years ago and loved it. I’m sure it was Kyle who did that and he was lovely. (I then broke my ankle and never went back 🙄 ) by Purp1eP1atypus (Tue 20th Sep 2022 1:37pm)

  • I’ve used HiyaCar before and it was excellent. You rent from private individuals so it’s a lot cheaper than a company. by Purp1eP1atypus (Mon 3rd Oct 2022 11:58am)
  • In Scotland school places at state schools are determined by where you live. Each child gets offered a place at a “non denominational” school (church of Scotland in practice) or catholic school and you pick one. There is an option to refuse your place and ask to be placed in another school but that is risky and not guaranteed. The other school option is to pay for private schooling and there are a few of them around the city. For secondary schools there is also a league table which can provide some information - to be taken a large dose of common sense and a big pinch of salt. by Purp1eP1atypus (Sun 23rd Oct 2022 4:05am)
  • Also appealing grades is rarely successful in moving a candidate up a grade mark. If your parent dies on the day of your exam you get a 5% allowance. Sobbing your way through a maths exam because your hamster died a week ago and then trying to appeal a grade is pointless. by Purp1eP1atypus (Mon 24th Oct 2022 12:21am)

  • Thanks for asking this. I’m following with interest as I’m also in the same situation as I do my own B12 injections. I thought I was doing the right thing buying a sharps bin to put the needles in, but I can’t find anywhere to get rid of them!! by Purp1eP1atypus (Fri 1st Sep 2023 5:14pm)
  • It’s not great. But if you can adjust your hours you may be able to miss the worst of it. Try driving and try taking the train and see which works out best. With the amount of cancellations on the trains these days that could actually be more stressful! by Purp1eP1atypus (Wed 6th Sep 2023 9:45am)
  • I’m 6’1” and have a secret lab titan xl. It’s very adjustable and very comfortable. by Purp1eP1atypus (Wed 6th Sep 2023 7:06pm)
  • In short. Take responsibility for organising everything. If you don’t have a factor you can run into problems with people not paying when they need to or you can have issues if a property is rented out and the landlord is absent. Factors take away one headache factor (and usually add another two to be fair!) by Purp1eP1atypus (Thu 7th Sep 2023 8:53am)
  • NOT hacking and Paterson. I’m not sure there are any good factors. But H&P are awful. by Purp1eP1atypus (Thu 7th Sep 2023 8:52am)
  • According to this https://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables/rankings/social-work Caledonian is rated 8th and Strathclyde 13th (out of 75) so both are good. by Purp1eP1atypus (Fri 8th Sep 2023 10:46am)

  • Contact these guys - https://scottishpinball.org.uk/ They’re a lovely bunch. They bring a stack of machines to the expo every year and they had 2 Star Wars ones listed for this year so they might be able to identify the machine. This guy is great https://www.paisleypinball.co.uk/ and also hires machines out. You might strike lucky with the machines he has. by Purp1eP1atypus (Sun 10th Sep 2023 8:36am)
  • Not sure I’ve ever noticed the decor TBH. The hairy men in kilts are rather distracting 😂😂😂 by Purp1eP1atypus (Sun 10th Sep 2023 10:08am)

  • We saw a car there and liked it. Went back for a test drive only to discover they were closed on a Sunday! I’m not surprised they’ve gone under when they close on one of the two busiest car buying days. by Purp1eP1atypus (Fri 15th Sep 2023 1:10pm)

  • Ross Hall / Nuffield waiting times are getting longer. I had about a 7-8 week wait for an MRI scan before getting a cancellation. There’s a BUPA clinic in the centre of town as well on St Vincent Street. I think they have GP services there as well as some clinical services. For mental health services you’ll get a list of recognise providers in your area. Again you can find there’s a waiting list or some have closed their books so you may have to try more than one provider before you get an appointment. Make a list of everything you need your insurance to cover (assuming you’re going down the insurance route as opposed to PAYG) and then check policies from all the main companies. Your premiums are going to be higher as it’s for existing health conditions. Also for mental health services, any policies I’ve had come with around 10 appointments a year. So if you’re going to need more than that make sure you’re covered. by Purp1eP1atypus (Fri 29th Sep 2023 6:28am)
