  • Why Glasgow Uni? ... for the entire operations of the IRA, they never targeted Glasgow or Scotland for that matter (I think) by alba_Phenom (Wed 29th May 2019 7:51pm)

  • Ah OK, seemed strange. I think we'll have to remind Ireland that "This is fuckin GLEESSSGGAAAA!" ... and that we'll set aboot them! Lessons should have been learned at Glesga Airport. by alba_Phenom (Thu 30th May 2019 2:18pm)
  • Retards have the right to march for whatever reason they want just as we have the right to laugh at them and call them cunts but at the end of the day, the council don't have to grant anyone permission to march anywhere, if something like this requires road closures and the like then the council can decide they can't walk there. Or it should be as simple as that. In fact, they should have to apply to the council who then provides a route. (around about an abandoned runway somewhere ... or possibly live runway now I think about it) by alba_Phenom (Thu 30th May 2019 2:23pm)
  • Well done Glasgow, I'm proud of that actually... now to get some of those stragglers aff the streets. by alba_Phenom (Tue 24th Mar 2020 10:07pm)
  • I'm sure they are and I'm just as sure some of them are people that thought they would go for a walk in the toon because "it would be quiet today", there are a lot more of them than people think too. by alba_Phenom (Wed 25th Mar 2020 9:19am)

  • Round my way it's uncommon to see people not wear masks in shops, the ones that don't tend to be junkies/alkies. The one that does annoy me is the people with it hanging down under their nose. I have no idea what they actually think the mask does or what they imagine the purpose of it is. I went to Braehead in the week before Christmas and gave up getting annoyed at stupid pricks walking within arms reach when there was about 4 mtr around me in every direction ... honestly felt like dropkicking some fuckers over the bannister. Then there were the walking death sentences, 80 yrs old, overweight and in a wheelchair... what in the actual fuck are you doing in here? by alba_Phenom (Wed 30th Dec 2020 4:49pm)
  • He knows, we had reports of the new variant in Glasgow on Dec 19th. by alba_Phenom (Wed 30th Dec 2020 4:56pm)
  • Realistically, we're looking at the end of summer before vaccinations begin to offer any reduction of community spread, just by the time it'll take to get enough people vaccinated to not give the virus enough room to spread. We're in this thing for a while yet whether we like it or not. by alba_Phenom (Wed 30th Dec 2020 5:03pm)
  • You sound like an excuse factory tbh. You can breathe through your mouth with a mask on, I'm sure your chins not that tickly and what does wearing masks have to do with anxiety attacks. by alba_Phenom (Wed 30th Dec 2020 5:06pm)
  • Try and set up some jobs as soon as you can, if the both of you bring in a joint £40k per year, you can use that savings money as a deposit for a mortgage, buy a wee flat and you'd have enough for mortgage payments and to live. It's preferable to paying some asshole rent money and seeing it all disappear. If you ever want to up sticks and move, you can sell your property and reclaim all of that money back. by alba_Phenom (Wed 30th Dec 2020 5:27pm)
  • Ahh, the Riverside or the old one? That's a great idea, nice one... I didn't know they had a skate park. She's a bit away from using the skateparks just now and she's intimidated by the wee skater kids just now, truth be told. She'll get her confidence though. by alba_Phenom (Wed 30th Dec 2020 5:38pm)
  • Yeah, once this Covid thing is over, we can get along to that mate. by alba_Phenom (Wed 30th Dec 2020 5:43pm)

  • It's cool, she's just turned 13 and has never really shown interest in skateboards, snowboards, skies, etc before but I think there's a popular Tik-Tok channel which has boosted the popularity of roller-skates so she really fancies trying it. I was big into skating and snowboarding, so I'm happy to encourage this. by alba_Phenom (Wed 30th Dec 2020 6:11pm)
  • Just noticed you're the OP. Advice still stands. by alba_Phenom (Sun 3rd Jan 2021 8:17pm)
  • What do you mean. If you buy a flat for £90k with a 10-15% deposit from your savings, that gives you a mortgage repayment of around £400 p/m... compared to rental value for the same property of what? Then say you pay his mortgage for 4-5 years and decides to sell up, he retains not only his deposit but also the equity his repayments have created. Versus what, paying rent and bills from his savings for a year or so, which will be completely gone into the pocket of some landlord with a property portfolio? by alba_Phenom (Sun 3rd Jan 2021 8:15pm)
  • That's fucking horrible mate, there's no point giving you encouraging words and all that kinda shit because it's gonna take a little bit of time to get over this one way or the other. Just understand that you will get over her and this at some point sooner than you think and be much happier in future... just think about the kid and how you're going to be best be a positive influence in her life. One of you certainly needs to be. by alba_Phenom (Wed 21st Sep 2022 11:17pm)

I’m in a longer relationship with what sounds like a lot more commitments but sure as fuck I wouldn’t be sitting in 3 nights a week while my gf is out till 3:00 getting up to fuck knows what every week but everyone’s different I guess. by alba_Phenom (Sun 26th Mar 2023 9:38am)

  • It's seems like any political issue that happens in the US, we end up with complete turnips in this country taking up the challenge of pushing it here. The scum bastards don't seem to understand that a termination of a pregnancy is one of the hardest decision someone is likely to ever make and even if it is 150% the correct decision considering their circumstances, it's likely going to be a decision and process which effects them significantly for a long time. Before anyone says it, yes, there will be people who this is not the case for and it's no more an event for them than making a cup of tea but getting that out of the way... the last the thing the vast bulk of women going thru a termination need to see is some auld geriatric wanker telling them that they are "murderers" and "killing babies" on the way in and out of hospital. by alba_Phenom (Thu 15th Jun 2023 11:19am)
  • I can not stress the importance of cameras enough, I'm a straight male with a family and have been dealing with similar issues with a deranged female neighbour for 2 years and I can sympathise with just how absolutely useless the Scottish Police are when it comes to dealing with this kind of thing. You soon realise that almost nothing neighbours do towards you or your family is illegal, or is usually borderline illegal but not enough that the cops will be able to make something stick. The advice is always the same "just record everything, just keep reporting everything, make a spreadsheet and take down incident report numbers, etc etc etc"... you mentioned waiting 5 hours, we've waited 3-4 days for cops to come out despite this bampot having bail conditions in place. The only way we were able to get any kind of action on this was when we had blatant abuse from her on a security camera we stuck in the front window. This bitch has stopped short of physical assault, she wouldn't dare with me but she's threatened my partner on several occasions but it sounds like this woman has clearly physically assaulted you. If you had this on camera, she'd be toast, assuming you have been reporting all her other behaviour. Apparently we've heard that cops required more concrete evidence but a Judge will take into account testimony, their intuition on the situation and previous reports... in other words, her claim of you being in her way probably wouldn't make a difference to a Judge and he'd be harsher on her for trying to take the piss out of the Court with claims like that. Again, cameras, record everything, report everything... get in touch with your Local Councillor who can make calls on her, if you have two neighbours on the street (inc you) willling to complain then they can possibly get her out of there... although you soon realise that most people want nothing to do with this drama unless they're directly affected. Our Councillor has been far more proactive than the cops, they have been pretty great and call in every week to check how things are. Finally, if you feel the cops aren't doing enough or are not acting on legit crimes being committed, you can put in official complaints but as you probably well know, it's a Catch 22 because you want to keep them on your side. by alba_Phenom (Thu 15th Jun 2023 12:48pm)
  • Then the next thing which happens is that he gets time for "assaulting a woman" and she'll cry victim. She'll be hoping he hits her for that very reason. by alba_Phenom (Thu 15th Jun 2023 3:58pm)
  • and then he gets the reputation around the area that he's a "gay guy that batters women" and some cunt will fill him in some night on his way home. This is the real world and she knows fine well the vagina between her legs is protecting her from a punch in the mooth. by alba_Phenom (Thu 15th Jun 2023 4:08pm)
  • The unfortunate thing is that most Landlords, so long as they get paid each month, couldn't give a shit what arguments their tenants are having with neighbours. There should be more regulation in place forcing them to act but it takes a lot before the local council can bring anything to bear on them. Eventually they can lose their landlord registration if they fail to act but it takes a lot for them to have the ammunition to do it. by alba_Phenom (Thu 15th Jun 2023 4:07pm)
  • What about a dancing class like Salsa or something like that? Fun, healthy and pushes you to socialise with lots of new people. by alba_Phenom (Fri 16th Jun 2023 9:17pm)
  • Common in Cumnock and the surrounding areas, I always pronounced them like that as a kid ... and still do when I'm switched back to my default setting. Overall I love the Ayrshire accent, listen to James Buckleys wife, Claire, on their YT channel "At Home With The Buckleys", you can tell a mile away that she's fae Kilmarnock. Honestly, the accent I hate the most is the "wee neddy Glesga burd" accent with the loud as fuck whiny high pitched tone. by alba_Phenom (Mon 3rd Jul 2023 3:11pm)
  • I can tell from your literacy and the way you have constructed your post that you're not dumb in the slightest and I'm aware of a very similar situation to the one which you find yourself in. It's a fucking disgrace mate and the system is failing kids whose parents are basically Munchausen-By-Proxy cases... or using the children for benefits. In the adult working world your school exam results are very little importance, where it matters is in your ability to access the further education you want or need. It's dependent on what you want you want to do. Perhaps though, it is worth resitting your exams just to prove to yourself that you're not the person your mother has been claiming you to be and recover from some of the damage caused to you. Another option would be a technical college if you want to pursue a more physical trade like carpentry, electrics, plumbing, etc ... it guarantees a stable income for kids who didn't have the best start in school and it's also future proofed against future AI advancements than most academic professions. You don't live in Renfrew by any chance? by alba_Phenom (Wed 12th Jul 2023 12:51pm)
  • Prestwick and Ayr are nice places to live, has good transport links, easy access to Glasgow. Eventually I'll relocate down there because I feel it's a better quality of life. It's quieter, you have the hills and the beach, property is comparatively cheaper and there's still some decent pubs. I also have many friends there though so that helps. Can be a bit of a village where lots of people know each other around the same age when you're out for a night on the town. There's rough bits but show me a Scottish town or city which doesn't have them. by alba_Phenom (Wed 12th Jul 2023 1:14pm)
  • There was a phase a few years ago where American Barbecue was the hot new thing and there were tons of places offering it, like Tribeca's place in Kelvinbridge besides The Stand Comedy Club (closed now) but they were always disappointing. I don't know if they prepare it the same way as the Americans or whether the food just isn't what it's cracked up to be. I've tried Dennistouns years ago, got ribs, it was OK but I wouldn't go out my way for it again. Never tried the legit American version so I couldn't say if anywhere in Glasgow offers anything near authentic. by alba_Phenom (Wed 12th Jul 2023 1:52pm)
  • The road layout in Glasgow City Centre is an absolute disaster now. I'm sure they have a special "Task Force" whose job it is to take the existing road layout and devise a way to make even more complicated and maze like. I just avoid the place in a car as much as possible but if that's the goal, to keep cars out, it's probably better to make sure the public transport is up to spec to make sure people have an alternative. by alba_Phenom (Mon 17th Jul 2023 1:28pm)
  • They’d be better just going straight to A&E, they’ll get nowhere trying to “demand” anything through the GP. by alba_Phenom (Sat 12th Aug 2023 12:23pm)
  • My dealings with the NHS recently have been nothing short of horrendous and I’m not going to sit here and list all of the things my family and myself have dealt with but I’m no longer interested in not criticising the NHS. Yes, there are a lot of good people in the system trying their best with the limitations they have but from an anecdotal pov, there also seems to be a lot of useless borderline incompetent people too. by alba_Phenom (Sat 12th Aug 2023 12:21pm)
  • My 92 year old grandmother fell on her kitchen floor and split her head above the hairline down through between her eyes down the side of her nose. The floor was a pool of blood, we couldn’t move her from the floor. My aunt called the ambulance around 19:00pm, multiple times we called them for updates and got told “sorry, we’re very busy”… by luck my brother stays a few doors down from an ambulance driver who he asked to help and that man sat with my gran for 3 hours stemming the blood and keeping her calm while pulling strings to get an ambulance there. She finally got an ambulance after 10:00pm but had to sit in the back of the ambulance when she got there for another hour because there was no bed for her. If it wasn’t for that man then she would have been dead. That’s just one of the recent experiences I’ve had with the NHS. by alba_Phenom (Sat 12th Aug 2023 12:35pm)

  • My mother was in for a knee operation on Wednesday, (only waited about 5 years for that) and was talking to the staff about Covid. She was told that it wasn’t how it was portrayed in the news, that it was the easiest time they ever had because most of the other services had been shut down, all hands were on deck including A&E staff down helping out and there were 4 people doing what would have been 1 persons job. She said and I quote “don’t get me wrong, there were a lot of tears but it was one of the easiest times they’ve ever had working at the hospital”, maybe this wasn’t everyone’s experience but that was what she said. by alba_Phenom (Sat 12th Aug 2023 12:43pm)
  • Oh the take meaningful action, they constantly reduce the amount of things you’re able to take to local dumps and try to charge for getting rid of most things. I’m in no way excusing fly tipping but that’s a big driver of it is that people don’t want to pay to get rid of things so they get dumped somewhere ex by alba_Phenom (Sat 19th Aug 2023 3:39pm)
  • One of the cleanest tidiest cities in the world. They enforce the law strictly but it’s also a part of the culture of the people, they just seem to have a lot more social responsibility than we do here. I thought most people learned by their teenage years that dropping litter was one of the most disgusting things you can do but I guess not. Having no litter bins around isn’t an excuse either. by alba_Phenom (Sat 19th Aug 2023 3:36pm)
