  • It's a good thing. Pay it forward. There might be someone at a bus stop counting their coins and realising they don't have the fare to get where they need to be, they find a ticket and then do the same again. I've often passed an all day ticket to someone as I've got off at my destination. Stop being such a Debbie Downer. by smg658 (Fri 14th Aug 2020 12:14am)

  • I get so frustrated at folks in shops. I have a lung condition and I'm exempt from wearing a mask, but I still wear one. I'd rather be uncomfortable for 20 minutes than risk it. My kid has autism and is also exempt, she still wears a mask. It seems like some folks think they are better than others because they don't need to wear a mask. The dick nose maskers are the worst of the lot, whats the fecking point?? I'm hoping these 3 weeks kick some sense into people but I know I'm kidding myself. by smg658 (Tue 17th Nov 2020 3:42pm)
  • Back in the 90's the food poisoning hotspot was the place just down from Forbidden that sold pizzas etc. It was like spinning the wheel of fortune as to getting the shits on a Sunday. Didn't stop us munching them on the night bus home though, good times. by smg658 (Thu 19th Nov 2020 1:21am)

'there was a protest, etc last week and no one reported it' Cunts didn't wreck George square My fav was accident damage. Cunts. by smg658 (Tue 9th Mar 2021 2:04am)
  • I got mine last week, I’m 48 and on the flu list, also a carer. My daughters are 19 & 22 and are both getting theirs in the next 10 days. Younger daughter is unpaid carer, older daughter has autism. by smg658 (Wed 10th Mar 2021 7:04pm)
  • I got my dog from the SSPCA in Bothwell just over 3 years ago. Didn't do any home visits but we did have to wait a while for her as she was brought in as a stray. Geat wee dog and complete pain in the arse (barks at her own shadow, when people come down the stairs, when she farts etc) but so happy that we went for a rescue. My sis & bro in law paid a fortune for their dogs and I could never afford that. by smg658 (Mon 15th Mar 2021 9:17pm)
  • My sis and bro in law got both their dogs from a breeder called Isle of Canty, you can find them on Facebook. They got two cocker spaniels about 18 months apart. We went and visited the dogs before they were due to leave on a few occasions and found the dogs with their mother in a lovely warm clean kennel. Great breeders. They have a few different types of dogs and a waiting list as they are quite popular. My sis in laws dog are now about 7 & 5 and IOC still check in regularly with her to see how the dogs are. by smg658 (Tue 16th Mar 2021 4:30pm)
  • Never got that impression when we were there and we visited a few times and only once by appointment. Most we ever so were two different litters at one time and that was only once. by smg658 (Tue 16th Mar 2021 7:42pm)
  • Wasn’t my money or my dog but sis in law did have positive experiences both times and has two healthy dogs. This was a few years ago since she got the last one so all I can say is they still check on the dogs from time to time. I do know that the one of the women she dealt with left not too long after they got the second dog. I personally would always go for a rescue dog, I know that in both cases IOC charged over £600 for the dogs and as stated before on the 6/7 times I visited it looked like a nice place. Until today I’d never heard a bad thing about it and I know my sis in law was put in contact with other families who bought from the same litters as she did, all seemed very professional. by smg658 (Tue 16th Mar 2021 11:03pm)
  • G67 fireworks and sectarian songs all bloody day. by smg658 (Sun 21st Mar 2021 9:53pm)
  • Where do you buy fireworks? I thought they were only on sale at certain times? Can you buy them online? Twats in my street letting them off all day yesterday. Random loud bangs too, no clue what those were. by smg658 (Mon 22nd Mar 2021 12:34pm)
  • Is that the wee paper that they sell in garages? I've wondered what that was about. I thought it was a true detective type magazine. by smg658 (Wed 7th Apr 2021 1:44pm)
  • I rented from Fineholm in the 90's. Nice to see they've upheld their shite standards. by smg658 (Thu 15th Apr 2021 12:14pm)

  • They’d have torn up the pitch and wrecked the place probably. by smg658 (Sun 16th May 2021 1:00pm)

  • Yup but set in a fictional town, not in Glasgow. by smg658 (Fri 9th Jul 2021 9:16am)
  • Not at all but thanks for your offensive assumptions. Gregory’s Girl filmed in Cumbernauld, in 1980, does not capture modern Glasgow. by smg658 (Fri 9th Jul 2021 10:30am)
  • You can lay off the sly digs. I see your one of those types, fair enough. I’m not entirely sure how stating my opinion, much like yourself, Is making it all about me. Not everyone has to agree and Cumbernauld people who hold the film dear to their hearts will tell you quickly that it wasn’t filmed or set in Glasgow. Still a great film. by smg658 (Fri 9th Jul 2021 11:16am)
  • My Name is Joe is a cracking movie by smg658 (Fri 9th Jul 2021 12:59pm)

  • Scumbags! I hope they get found. A few years ago some junkie arseholes broke into my friends house and stole ipads etc and the keys for her sons mini cooper ltd edition. They were in the street (barking dog alerted her) wandering about with a bin bag full of goodies and pushing the button on the fob to try and find the car. Luckily the car was in the garage and her sons work van was parked against the door. Fuckers ran (and were caught) but tossed the key which was never found so it cost him £600 for a replacement. by smg658 (Sat 2nd Oct 2021 9:25am)

  • Don’t know if there’s a pure gym near you, my kid has a student membership and pays less than £20 per month. by smg658 (Thu 7th Oct 2021 9:31pm)
  • I've effed it up as I contacted them pretending to be my kid as I didn't want her stressed out about it. Set up a payment plan for it but haven't made a payment yet. I'm such a clown. by smg658 (Tue 16th Nov 2021 12:25pm)
  • When my kid parked on the land, it was in Motherwell. The machine wasn’t working. There was no number or anything for her to call and she spoke to the people in the shops next to it and they told her they had no way to contact the company either. She tried about 5/6 different places to see if anyone knew how she could contact them. She didn’t avoid paying, she tried finding ways to but there just weren’t any. I know I’ve stuck myself right in it by phoning but it was a stressful day and I just wasn’t thinking properly at all. by smg658 (Tue 16th Nov 2021 4:58pm)
  • I’m not that daft. Use better words. by smg658 (Tue 16th Nov 2021 5:00pm)
  • Not a stretch, I have a young voice! by smg658 (Tue 16th Nov 2021 8:52pm)
  • Has a similar issue when my Dad was dying, we knew he wasn't going to last the night and his girlfriend accessed his account as she left the hospital. We had his account frozen the next day and she tried to access it again and was stopped. She was made to pay back what she had taken, including money from my Dads pension. If your Mum's partner has used money from the gvmt that was supposed to be used for the funeral then that is fraud. Make sure that the funeral director knows that the partner is liable for bills and they should be forwarded to them. I'm really sorry for your loss and hope you get things sorted. by smg658 (Wed 15th Dec 2021 11:42am)

  • I got an oodie from my kids for my birthday last year and I love it, keep you very warm. Only downside is having to pull it off and on. It does have a huge pocket, can almost fit the dug in it! by smg658 (Tue 21st Dec 2021 3:18am)
  • My Dad had a couple of stalls there in the early 80's, used to have to work it with my brother, hated it. Always got some good records though. by smg658 (Tue 21st Dec 2021 10:28am)
  • My Dad used to repair tvs, also had a shop on Saracen St at the time. He sold all these fixed tvs every sat at the Barry’s along with other assorted junk. Once he left the barras he got into the auto jumble market, did car boots, and bought loads of army surplus too, used to sell it to film companies making army films. He made a decent living from it right til he died. by smg658 (Tue 21st Dec 2021 6:48pm)

  • I was there, mad day. by smg658 (Sun 13th Feb 2022 10:07pm)
  • Have tried to book taxis to pick my kids up in town and its a nightmare. Used to be a taxi driver jumped at the chance of a night fare to Cumbernauld from the town but its a pain in the arse now. I thought the whole point of pre-booking was having someone there to collect you, not phoning half an hour before to see if there's anyone available. Some of them are just ripping the piss. by smg658 (Wed 9th Mar 2022 8:13am)

  • Not my taste but all types of shite sell out places, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, Billie Eilish. Used to have to listen to him when I took my daughter to school a few years ago but she was 16 and I just assume he's targeted to that audience. by smg658 (Tue 12th Jul 2022 3:24pm)
  • My grandparents moved down south in the late 70's and used water filters. They did that first then boiled it to save on new kettles. by smg658 (Wed 13th Jul 2022 8:28pm)
  • We used to have it in the early 80's but it was members of the local social club that organised it for families. Could the charity be Barnados? They did a lot with kids. by smg658 (Sat 23rd Jul 2022 6:18pm)

  • My Aunt lived in Scotland til she was 14, moved to England, married an American and moved over there for 10 years. She sounds Irish. Accents are a weird one. I have cousins who adapt their accents depending on who they are speaking to, at home with parents, normal Scottish accent, at home with their own kids or freinds, English accent. Always found that a bit strange. These kids left Scotland at 4 and 5. Other family members despite living in England for much longer than they ever lived up here still have broad Glaswegian accents. It's perfectly normal to pick up speaking habits etc from being around people for a long time. by smg658 (Tue 13th Sep 2022 10:58pm)

It was a horrible decision for me to make and I felt incredibly guilty but I know I would have felt a lot worse had he killed someone on the road due to his erratic driving. Report to DVLA. by smg658 (Fri 16th Jun 2023 6:22pm)
