  • Are there any good ones which are above 90 and dry? Every one I've tried ends up soaking because they're filled with wannabe hard men emptying 2 litre bottles of water over the heater because they think it will "make it hotter". Some of the heaters are in enclosures, which you would think means " no-touchy" but the morons just can't help themselves. by Wastrelle (Thu 17th Jan 2019 2:32pm)

  • Is it true that Gerry McCann used to work there?? by Wastrelle (Sat 1st Jun 2019 8:54am)
  • You don't think that being able to connect the father of the world's most famous missing toddler to an organisation where child abuse has occurred matters? It probably doesn't mean anything, but surely that's a lead worth investigating? by Wastrelle (Sat 1st Jun 2019 11:16am)
  • So he done work at the club, just not for the club? by Wastrelle (Sat 1st Jun 2019 11:42am)
  • Clutching at straws? I've seen enough Detective movies to know all leads should be fully investigated, no matter how inconspicuous and tangential. And that Michael Jackson documentary further highlighted all the smoke and mirror tactics child abusers can use. People have their own opinions of the McCanns, but if he did work there, maybe investigating could uncover something? And if he's not involved then maybe there's evidence he could provide? And dismissing allegations as "Hun conspiracies" is what's stopped four men from going to prison a lot earlier than they should have. by Wastrelle (Sat 1st Jun 2019 2:10pm)
  • I made no accusations against Gerry McCann. I merely suggested that if there was a link uncovered, who knows what an thorough investigation could uncover. by Wastrelle (Sat 1st Jun 2019 9:07pm)
  • What hasn't been sensible and unreasonable about what I've suggested? You seem to be getting a bit worked up for no reason. Are you one of those types of people who considers swearing "grown-up" and therefore "serious"??? by Wastrelle (Sat 1st Jun 2019 9:18pm)
  • I'd say that depends on what your opinion of the girl's disappearance is. Isn't the whole point of investigations to try and find evidence? There's enough theories out there regarding the McCann's involvement, their connections in government & the media, and considering their alleged use of NDAs. Would that not even raise the slightest curiousity? If I was an officer on a high profile disappearance case that had been running for 10+ years, I'd be investigating everything I could. by Wastrelle (Sat 1st Jun 2019 10:50pm)
  • Football coaches abused young boys and eventually went to prison. There's not really much to say about it. I think the only discussion to have on this subject is to find out the reasons why convictions have only just been given. If you want, you can tell me the reasons for this since I am obviously not as informed as you are... I heard a rumour, which I felt would have been interesting if true, and felt that this was a suitable thread in which to ask if it was true. The outrage and defensiveness of some people to this question was a bit OTT though... by Wastrelle (Sat 1st Jun 2019 11:07pm)
  • That girl strikes me as the type to deliberately play on a motorway and not expect to get ran over... Was there really any need for her to deliberately cross through the middle of a march other than being part of some attention seeking stunt? by Wastrelle (Tue 9th Jul 2019 9:26am)
  • I can quite easily walk in front of oncoming people and quickly get past them without obstructing them - I'm going to assume this is the reason that I don't get spat on? Even if this was a million man march there would be an appropriate time for anyone attempting to cross - but this stupid cow is obviously more important and has to get her way... She was deliberately being a nuisance and her friend/boyfriend just happened to be filming it. Convenient. by Wastrelle (Tue 9th Jul 2019 3:29pm)
  • You honestly want me to believe that there was an endless stream of impenetrable marchers which blocked the streets for more than an hour with no way of getting through? There will have been appropriate times to cross, but that stupid attention seeking cow felt the need to walk right through - just as her friend was filming... Crossing the road, in the middle of a march, is akin to walking in front of oncoming traffic. I think these walks/marches/parades are well publicised - r/Glasgow certainly seems to complain a lot when they know when they are happening - so if she had somewhere to be she planned badly. Insulting people behind their backs on the internet is fairly cowardly. by Wastrelle (Tue 9th Jul 2019 3:47pm)
  • The person filming that video was intentionally trying to incite a violent reaction. It's unnecessary antagonistic behaviour, which is why I believe the officer was correct in questioning the cameraman's motives. by Wastrelle (Tue 9th Jul 2019 3:57pm)
  • Glasgow is a fairly easy city to navigate. There are plenty of ways to get around places. But if some people feel their path is in front of an oncoming parade then hell mend them. Taking up streets with marches is selfish, antagonistic and attention seeking. Feeling the need to crash/interrupt these marches is selfish antagonistic and attention seeking. If you don't approve of the marches, retaliating in the same manner makes you just as bad. by Wastrelle (Tue 9th Jul 2019 4:15pm)
  • It may not be direct retaliation, but feeling emboldened to act similarly makes you equally as bad. Glasgow is a fairly easy grid system. If your path is blocked, and you don't want to be disrespectful, it isn't that hard to find an alternate route. If I wasn't intentionally seeking to incur a group's wrath, I would find a way to avoid it. by Wastrelle (Tue 9th Jul 2019 4:34pm)
  • Are you the only Johnny Clarkee in Glasgow? There's still an element on anonymity... It seems that you also want a fight, particularly with this group of people you keep insulting - perhaps you and they can go down to one of their halls and relieve some tension together? I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy the excuse: "Sorry boss, can't come to work today - those OO cunts I claim to despise are blocking my road...". I'm saying it isn't hard to avoid getting in people's way - I managed to avoid doing it so far today - is that a new record? by Wastrelle (Tue 9th Jul 2019 4:46pm)
  • I wouldn't know. What songs do they play? I suppose if the march was walking directly through the Mitchell Library you'd have a point regarding similarities... by Wastrelle (Tue 9th Jul 2019 10:59pm)
  • The girl is interfering with an event which I assume has been arranged for a few weeks. People in the march either expect, or will have been given assurances, that the march would have been allowed to happen and I'm going to assume that the people who reacted badly interpreted this as an attack on what they were promised. Getting the police involved would have kicked things off even further with the marchers feeling threatened, and providing any hidden antagonists an opportunity to escalate the situation. by Wastrelle (Tue 9th Jul 2019 11:11pm)
  • I can go to shopping centres, concerts & football matches and not fall over or bang into others. If people are going at a snail's pace and you deliberately walk into their path I think the problem is with you. You seem to have a lot of built up anger which is aimed at this group, either that or you are letting them get you worked up pretty badly. I don't see any other people rushing across the road and banging into marchers, so yes - I do think she was being deliberately disruptive. by Wastrelle (Tue 9th Jul 2019 11:29pm)
  • If a street is blocked you can access it via another route, you can go around. I'm fairly certain that business will have been notified of any disruptions that day and should have adjusted to compensate. And if they weren't informed maybe it would have been sensible to check and prepare for any possible disruptions. Everyone is entitled to a level of respect that holds up people with jobs, schedules, and emergencies regardless of affiliation but people love to complain when it is afforded to this specific group of people because they are bigoted hypocrites. by Wastrelle (Tue 9th Jul 2019 11:44pm)
  • There are plenty of roads to take from the East End into the city centre on foot, and if I knew there was a big event on I would have adjusted accordingly. If you don't think the girl was attention seeking, will you agree that she was disruptive/antagonistic/disrespectful - deliberately or not? If people had respected the walk it would have gone on without trouble. I don't particularly enjoy the fact that the church at the end of my road goes wild with its bell at 11am every Sunday, but I tolerate and get on with my life it because I'm not a hateful person with an agenda. I know the idea of crashing a Walk being seen as disrespectful will get laughed at, but those taking part will see it that way which is why they reacted like they did. by Wastrelle (Wed 10th Jul 2019 12:01am)
  • That's quite a sweeping generalisation. I don't think I've defended what either the OO or Trump do, merely their right to do so. The oppression issue seems to be quite a hypocritical subject that's OK for one side to indulge in but not the other... by Wastrelle (Wed 10th Jul 2019 1:57pm)
  • This group are from a recognised culture and they have their rights. If the march was allowed to pass respectfully there would have been no issue. I think people need to realise the world doesn't revolve around them: "there's a big march been organised in town for a while but Im going to disrupt it because I planned poorly". Kinda ignorant, no? I'm sure if people were polite and respectful to the stewards they would have found a way to help them out. If you have a bad medical condition I would hope you would take precautions or be aware of necessary facilities. I doubt very much that there would only be a toilet on a side of the road that was impossible to get to...? by Wastrelle (Wed 10th Jul 2019 2:15pm)
  • I don't get spat on because I'm a fairly respectful person. I don't insult people, call them names or make bigoted generalisations. There's a difference between demanding respect from people and earning it. I'm fairly certain that the King associated with the OO was a rampant homosexual, how would you feel if the OO incorporated this aspect into their matches? A big Orange Order Pride Parade. Would you still be as angry and hateful? Or would you use it against them as an insult? by Wastrelle (Wed 10th Jul 2019 2:27pm)
  • The band's instruments manage to say these words? Are these official lyrics or associated ones that people add on? Isn't Flower of Scotland kinda similar in regards to fighting/killing English? Or is that OK because it's pro your group and you know that they are harmless words? by Wastrelle (Wed 10th Jul 2019 2:37pm)
  • If I'm repeating myself it's because the same points keep being brought up. I don't really know the ins and outs of Glasgow City Council or how the OO works, I'm just trying to be rational. If a steward had to step in with a member of the public I'm going to assume that it's because they went against their instructions. The stewards are there to do a job and will have been instructed on what to do. If it gets out of hand it's their responsibility, so I can understand the steward getting annoyed. Just try to picture the carnage if it all kicked off and got out of hand because some stupid impatient girl didn't listen to a steward. I'm fairly certain that if you submitted the appropriate paperwork to notify the organisers of the walk that you crossing of the road might happen at the same time their march was occurring they would find a way to accommodate you. Or if you really wanted all the attention you could get you could involve the council and demand it like a spoiled little schoolgirl... by Wastrelle (Wed 10th Jul 2019 2:55pm)
  • You seem fixated on this supposed "30 minutes" - is there evidence of this? Is this the standard delay during marches that people have agreed upon? I will be interested to see the actual details of this case if it is going to court. I'm interested to hear the reasons given for not adhering to stewards advice and acting of her own accord - Please keep me informed. Perhaps the woman has not been charged with anything because the people conducting the march have decided against it - but that won't really fit your narrative, will it? I could have a watertight case with all the evidence I need and I don't think I'd be able to convince you otherwise - you have your myopic opinion and you're sticking to it, fair enough. by Wastrelle (Wed 10th Jul 2019 10:19pm)

  • When I joined Fair Start the first thing I did was ask about what training opportunities they had available because I was keen to take everything that was available - I was told there was nothing. I wanted help to find something, and I asked for help identifying which positions offered desirable skills, but I was expected to know what these were from the beginning - if it was that easy I wouldn't need their help. We looked at the "industries" I'd be interested in but we never looked at which actual jobs were actually available or what I would need. From then on, the "coach" seemed determined to make me apply for cleaning jobs, something I made clear I was not interested in and didn't see any progression in. They kept telling me that once my foot was in the door other positions would be offered to me. I asked what would be offered other than more cleaning jobs? I never missed an appointment and was never late, but then I mysteriously started to not receive emails and messages weren't being left on my phone, only to receive calls asking where I was because I had supposedly missed a meeting. It was clear that they wanted me to leave, so I did. by Wastrelle (Wed 25th Mar 2020 12:50pm)

  • I think there's a difference between having intolerant beliefs and actually acting upon them. Does singing and chanting happen at these marches? Is there a script of lyrics? Is there an official act of violence incitement that occurs? How does it begin? What actually happens that incites violence and promotes hatred on the grounds of religion? Plenty of people drink on the streets and are drunk and fight in public, have they all been to marches? Is it different for them? by Wastrelle (Sat 20th Jun 2020 3:40am)
  • > Obviously, what a fucking stupid question to ask. It's an annual occurrence in Glasgow. Sorry, I worded that wrong: Is the singing/chanting part of the actual parade with the instruments? Do they get megaphones to make sure they are heard over the instruments? Also, yearly? Isn't there someone else on one of these threads complaining about how it's a fortnightly thing? Have I got something wrong? >There are songs that are chanted often enough that if you were to Google them you'd find lyrics. [Here's](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famine_Song) an example of one. Are these chants an official part of the marches? Who has to approve the set list? >Mate, enough of the act. It happens like clockwork during these marches, which is why they need such a massive police presence. So it happens like clockwork, but you can't tell me exactly when or why it happens? I get the feeling that it's not an official part of the march... >Do they have organised parades of bigotry where they shout and accost people in the street for weeks at a time? Which parts of the march does this happen during? • I don't know the process for organising events but if you restrict one group to only one event you restrict all others as well. by Wastrelle (Sat 20th Jun 2020 1:00pm)
  • >Yes. Yes. Sorry, I worded that wrong. Is the singing /chanting actually a part of the march? Does the march stop and the instruments fall silent for all to join in? >"we're up to our knees in fenian blood, surrender or you'll die" All I'm seeing is an expression on political history, there's no direct orders in those words. I'm sure smilar could be alluded to in Flower of Scotland. by Wastrelle (Sun 21st Jun 2020 4:22pm)
  • They are genuine questions because I'm picking holes in your argument. If nothing wrong is being done by the people performing then I don't understand why you are advocating for the events banning? If people in attendance are doing illegal things then by all means you can suggest they are unattended or policed better. It seems that people are inferring whatever they choose from the songs played, which gives the impression that they are choosing things to suit an agenda.
