  • Spent my workday looking at flats on Rightmove and depressing myself. The housing market in Glasgow (and everywhere tbf) is absolutely mental at the moment by fraja95 (Thu 4th Mar 2021 3:29pm)
  • Sorry to hear man - from what you’ve said (that they haven’t given you any clear reasons, despite you having tangible objectives/targets), could it be grounds for unfair dismissal? by fraja95 (Thu 18th Mar 2021 9:13pm)
  • Can also confirm that fireworks have been going off for hours way out in ML1. Mental. by fraja95 (Sun 21st Mar 2021 8:06pm)
  • Fortnightly? Try every three weeks. *laughs in Lanarkshire* *cries in Lanarkshire* by fraja95 (Fri 26th Mar 2021 5:43pm)
  • Can confirm - owner might be mental but the food is top notch. One of my favourite places in town. by fraja95 (Sun 28th Mar 2021 7:13pm)
  • Today is my first day back in my office since March 2020, and first time coming into Glasgow. Felt pretty eerie this morning, like 8am on the Magaluf strip where everything is cleared up but there’s no one around... by fraja95 (Tue 11th May 2021 11:18am)
  • They have been necessary to a point, but shutting basically everything has made people fatigued with the lockdown. I think it should have been more targeted rather than a blanket lockdown. by fraja95 (Tue 11th May 2021 12:19pm)
  • TL;DR version: Gentrification. I would argue people wanted to be in the West End previously, because it was ‘hip’ and ‘cool’, and then got priced out of there. They looked for other areas and settled on South Side. As more people came, more facilities and improvements came. Now the cycle is repeating- people getting priced out of Southside, so other areas of Glasgow will be next for transformation. It’s already happening in Dennistoun, probably Maryhill next. It’s definitely good in a way, but there’s also the concern about how it’ll impact families who have stayed there for years and may struggle to continue to stay in the area due to affordability. by fraja95 (Tue 11th May 2021 2:51pm)
  • I will always be baffled that more isn’t done with the areas by the Clyde in Glasgow. Look at the riverfront bars/restaurants in other cities- that would be smashing by fraja95 (Tue 11th May 2021 3:00pm)
  • It’s not even the Covid aspect that gets me re: Rangers fans in the City Centre, it’s the vandalism/littering/fighting/pissing in the street. Grown adults. Absolutely fucking embarrassing. by fraja95 (Sat 15th May 2021 8:21pm)
  • Imagine defending the behaviour in the city centre... by fraja95 (Sat 15th May 2021 8:20pm)
  • The good old days. (All seriousness, that’s shite too. Not got a problem with people celebrating tbh, just got a problem with people taking it too far and making more work for others to clean up. Most of the fans are fine.) by fraja95 (Sat 15th May 2021 8:40pm)
  • Nah I know- if it was Celtic, then scenes would be very similar I think... finding it funny seeing people I know complaining about this but who also went to Parkhead because they were pissed off at Lennon by fraja95 (Sat 15th May 2021 8:52pm)
  • You know what, I take back what I said earlier because you’re right and I was trying to be fair. You wouldn’t see this off Celtic fans- it’s always Rangers fans causing trouble and doing this shit. Not fair to lump Celtic in with that. by fraja95 (Sat 15th May 2021 11:37pm)
  • “Looked like WW3” Guess you’ve never seen any actual footage of wars eh? Also read articles about it just there- no memorial benches vandalised, no arrests, so yeah...not quite equal yet. Suck my dick ✌️ by fraja95 (Sat 15th May 2021 11:45pm)
  • “You thick piece of shit” Oooh someone is getting testy 😉 by fraja95 (Sat 15th May 2021 11:58pm)
  • 😂🎣 by fraja95 (Sun 16th May 2021 12:11am)
  • When you hear the phrase ‘People Make Glasgow’, it’s about people like you and your husband. Thank you for all you did for that girl and for your compassion and understanding. The past year has been really tough as you said, and it’s nice to see people who help rather than just walk past ❤️ by fraja95 (Sun 16th May 2021 11:25am)
  • It’s where dreams go to die by fraja95 (Tue 18th May 2021 2:32pm)
  • I think you should speak to a doctor first of all about depression and anxiety. As others have said, I think your issues are a bit more deep rooted than just Glasgow, which is completely understandable because of how shite the last 12-18 months have been. Think you’re stuck in a rut and having a bit of a shite time to be honest mate. Secondly, once Glasgow opens back up, join groups and clubs. Find something that interests you and give that a try, and you’ll hopefully meet compatible people for friends and romance. Just try new things tbh. by fraja95 (Wed 19th May 2021 6:48pm)
  • I think what’s important to remember is that where you are right now, physically and mentally, isn’t where you have to be for the rest of your life. Things are tough just now so be kind to yourself but like you acknowledged, it’s not a case of changing one thing and all your problems will be solved. It’ll take some time. by fraja95 (Wed 19th May 2021 11:10pm)
  • The eternal question tbh by fraja95 (Thu 20th May 2021 10:37pm)
  • In Glasgow, we need to just get as many people vaccinated as possibly. People your age (I’m saying at the grand old age of 25...) are most likely to be working in customer facing job and to have interaction with loads of people. We’ve vaccinated most, if not all, of those most vulnerable to Covid so now it’s just everyone else, and it makes sense to vaccinate those who are most likely to see loads of people on a regular basis. by fraja95 (Sun 23rd May 2021 9:17pm)
  • Depends on the street honestly. It’s got good access for a lot of amenties, the motorway, Glasgow though. by fraja95 (Mon 24th May 2021 6:30pm)
  • Aw man, I went to look and they’ve went private 😅 that’s one way to torpedo your business On a semi-related note, I have a mutual on Twitter who is anti-vaccine/lockdown/etc and they have went off the deep end this weekend. It’s been a nice source of entertainment whilst I’m self isolating... by fraja95 (Mon 31st May 2021 2:50pm)
  • Pipeworks in the City Centre mate. No need to worry about swimwear. Enjoy! 🌈 by fraja95 (Thu 3rd Jun 2021 1:41pm)
  • Snap! Today is my first day feeling mostly human- hope you haven’t been too ill 😬 by fraja95 (Sat 5th Jun 2021 6:25pm)
  • It’s been hard out here. Only started getting hay fever in my early twenties and I’m dying this year. Took an antihistamine, nasal spray and eye drops first thing this morning and I’m surviving. Roll on winter. by fraja95 (Tue 29th Jun 2021 5:43pm)
  • German Donner Kebab by fraja95 (Tue 20th Jul 2021 11:17pm)
  • Talented woman, bought her own hype. Her online presence is cringy as fuck. “Glesgae patter” that’s very forced and a caricature. The first few voiceovers were funny but she’s been beating a dead horse for ages. Her stand up is much better than her online comedy, but she seems to have bought her own hype. Some of the deeper stuff that she’s done (blogs about Poverty, her short film that was made during lockdown) are pretty fantastic and probably her best work. by fraja95 (Thu 9th Sep 2021 7:17pm)
  • This is such a big problem and people don’t want to talk about it. I’m from Motherwell and the area has seen a massive amount of young men taking their own lives in the past few years, and loads of young guys struggling with mental health. I’m not saying every one of them was taking Coke, but there’s a significant number. People just brush it under the carpet for the most part. There was even a documentary made about the suicides in the area and cocaine wasn’t mentioned. The solution is in progressive drug policy and education. It also doesn’t help that the cocaine most people are getting is full of absolutely horrendous shit. Someone I know died after taking cocaine with fentanyl in it. by fraja95 (Sat 11th Sep 2021 1:29pm)
  • Got dumped last night. Send memes/positive affirmations plz by fraja95 (Thu 14th Oct 2021 2:50pm)
  • I would suggest Motherwell- decent enough area, plenty of amenities, parks, and decent transport links. All the best for your situation! by fraja95 (Mon 25th Oct 2021 11:45am)
  • Nothing to do with Brexit and everything to do with the sheer incompetence of GCC by fraja95 (Sat 6th Nov 2021 12:52am)
  • Putting in my first ever bid for a flat today! Looking forward to the inevitable disappoint when it gets sold for about £20k over HR 🙌 by fraja95 (Mon 22nd Nov 2021 11:20am)
  • Is this the road between Holytown and Newhouse? Feel like I recognise this place lol by fraja95 (Fri 7th Jan 2022 9:19am)
  • Another whinge about trying to get on the property ladder, another day ending in Y. Offers over 115k, HR 125k. Got told they hadn’t had any offers above the HR so go above that. I do, and then got told “actually they’re hoping for over 140k”. Why not tell me that and stop me wasting my time? 🙃 by fraja95 (Tue 11th Jan 2022 3:26pm)
  • That’s exactly what I’ve done to- we’ll see what happens but yeah, good luck to them 🤷🏻‍♂️ by fraja95 (Tue 11th Jan 2022 10:24pm)
  • r/AngryUpvote by fraja95 (Sat 15th Jan 2022 12:52am)
  • So I’m assuming you rent your flats out at the same cost as the mortgage so they can save up, and aren’t paying additional money on rent vs. what they would pay on their mortgage? by fraja95 (Fri 21st Jan 2022 12:32am)
  • Not sure if this is a shitpost or not…you are going to get very very little sympathy on this thread, complaining about costs when you have 40 flats and people are struggling to afford one. by fraja95 (Fri 21st Jan 2022 12:31am)
  • Offer accepted on a flat this morning. 10/10 day, buzzin out my tits by fraja95 (Fri 21st Jan 2022 10:57am)
  • This sounds fun. I give it two sessions max before my glasses get smashed though by fraja95 (Thu 27th Jan 2022 4:30pm)
  • Literally bought a property last week using them. Oh dear 😅 by fraja95 (Sat 29th Jan 2022 3:27pm)
  • I’m looking for a gym as I’m moving closer to Glasgow- how do people rate the Glasgow Club at Gorbals? Any other recommendations are welcome! by fraja95 (Mon 28th Feb 2022 1:31pm)
  • I would recommend that you switch off from the news- I know it’s difficult but at some point, it becomes doom-scrolling. Check if you have access to mental health support through your employer or partner, or speak to your GP if you can. If none of these options are available, then I would recommend contacting Samaritans (116 123). For what it’s worth, what is happening in Ukraine is horrific but the chances of a nuclear strike are minuscule. Higher than they were a few months ago? Yes, but still extremely minimal. Take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon x by fraja95 (Mon 28th Feb 2022 1:35pm)
  • Bought a flat in the Merchant City for only 7% over HR a few weeks ago. It’s still a lot of money but when I think of how bad it could be…had been looking at another flat in Battlefield at the same time and it went for 19% above! by fraja95 (Fri 11th Mar 2022 5:52pm)
  • Yeah, that’s a good shout. Was planning on keeping one box but there’s a shit ton in the cupboard by fraja95 (Sun 17th Apr 2022 6:00pm)
  • Thank you! Hadn’t heard of freecycle but will give it a try by fraja95 (Sun 17th Apr 2022 6:00pm)
  • It may be, but times are hard and I’m not talking a couple of tiles. I’m talking 8 unopened boxes by fraja95 (Sun 17th Apr 2022 6:00pm)
  • It doesn’t really have lunch offers, but I would sell my first born for some chicken teriyaki from Panko (bottom of Bothwell St.) by fraja95 (Fri 6th May 2022 11:12am)
  • The Katsu is dire- it’s far too watery. Sorry not sorry. Will try the Sando though by fraja95 (Fri 6th May 2022 12:45pm)
  • Started and finished “Young Munro” yesterday and I am wrecked. Jesus. by fraja95 (Mon 9th May 2022 3:00pm)
  • Yeah - my solicitor wasn’t able to work with the bank I got my mortgage from, so I had to find a new one. I had organised a new solicitor in two hours and they received all of the documentation from my previous solicitor by the end of the day. Speak to your estate agent- they will hopefully be able to recommend a few names. by fraja95 (Mon 9th May 2022 3:00pm)
  • The more desirable it is (more bedroom, nice area, parking or gardens, nice decorating), the more you’ll pay above HR. I paid 7% above HR for mine in February (1 bed in City Centre, with parking), but a friend paid 18% above HR for hers last month (2 bed in Shawlands). Just keep trying and you’ll get somewhere eventually- it is super stressful, but super worth it when you finally get somewhere! by fraja95 (Sat 14th May 2022 9:15pm)
  • 🥱 someone’s a bitter Rangers fan this evening. I was wrong and Celtic fans are aresholes too, and the club should be taking a strong stand against this type of behaviour. by fraja95 (Sun 15th May 2022 12:48am)
  • That’s a bit weird looking for a comment for a year ago, but you do you mate…happy Saturday night! And yep, I was wrong. Celtic fans are scumbags too and should be ashamed of the mess they’ve created. by fraja95 (Sun 15th May 2022 12:45am)
  • I used Callum Fraser at Hannay Fraser and Co. Top guy and got the job done, plus he was very good at keeping in contact and updating me on what was going on. Would definitely recommend. by fraja95 (Sun 15th May 2022 3:15pm)
  • Singl-End (Garnethill or Merchant City) or Spitfire Cafe in Merchant City are both nice places for a first day. Good luck! by fraja95 (Sun 22nd May 2022 10:00pm)
  • Not quite Glasgow, but Eden Orthodontic Centre in Coatbridge. I got ceramic braces on my top row for £800. by fraja95 (Wed 25th May 2022 8:56am)
  • Merchant Chippy - pizza crunch supper, single sausage, salt and vinegar, curry sauce, two cans of Irn Bru. Needless to say, it isn’t a regular meal by fraja95 (Sat 28th May 2022 5:47pm)
  • Jumping on to say dodgeball is great - would really recommend. I’m interested in tennis though…do you just show up? by fraja95 (Wed 22nd Jun 2022 4:37pm)
  • Brill, thank you! Dodgeball is also £3, but your first session is free. Hopefully see you there 😊 by fraja95 (Wed 22nd Jun 2022 4:48pm)
  • As someone who did a Masters, it was tough enough without having to contend with remote learning! Well done you- that’s fantastic. You should be very proud of yourself 🥳 by fraja95 (Wed 22nd Jun 2022 6:39pm)
  • I’ve managed to get my hayfever under control and now have the cold from hell. I am not built different despite what I’d like to think by fraja95 (Thu 23rd Jun 2022 1:02pm)
  • Got approached by some anti-abortion activists on Sauchiehall St this morning…not today satan by fraja95 (Sat 30th Jul 2022 1:47pm)
  • Tested positive for glandular fever…I feel about three steps from death. Now on a self-imposed winching ban for the foreseeable 😷 by fraja95 (Tue 20th Sep 2022 11:23am)
  • https://wiki.glasgow.social/making_friends Making pals as an adult is tough. I’d recommend joining a sports club or finding a hobby. The link above is great and has a wide variety of things, so hopefully you can find something that interests you! by fraja95 (Sun 2nd Oct 2022 10:35pm)
  • My factor is expensive as it is (~75 quid a month) but they’ve just sent me a bill for £450 for the last quarter due to additional work and are wanting to perform more work the next quarter (another £300 on top of the usual bill), and have had the cheek to ask me to leave my parking space empty all day Thursday and find parking elsewhere, so hedges can get trimmed I hate my factor I hate my factor I hate my factor by fraja95 (Mon 3rd Oct 2022 11:16am)
  • I’d be up for joining you- been looking to get into it so happy to join as a buddy or join a group together by fraja95 (Sat 15th Oct 2022 5:38pm)

  • I remember someone saying that appointments are put up on a Wednesday morning…don’t know if that’s true but the only time I’ve been able to get an appointment anywhere is when I look first thing on a Wednesday. I’m having to go to Greenock but I’ll take what I can get 🤷🏻‍♂️ by fraja95 (Wed 4th Jan 2023 1:40pm)
