  • It was called something else last year, a lot more convincing. I turned up for a Senior Marketing exec role and my interview was with him. Confronted him on not only the fact it was a pathetic sales role not marketing (which he argued profusely) and the whole scam situation, in his empty office with plastic folding chairs. He the took the huff and I walked out. Absolute walloper. He being the Matt guy from life as a CEO by glasgowduck (Wed 22nd Jan 2020 4:53pm)
  • Hey! This isn't quite the same but I had the same situation with ADHD last year (22 Female). I've never quite 'with it' and despite being bubbly and outgoing, and completing two degrees realised I totally lacked certain skills and found a lot of things overwhelming. After going to two doctors both dismissed me due to my ability to complete uni, I asked for a different doctor and next thing I was diagnosed and medicated. My advice is be persistent and stand up for yourself. From what I've gathered, women are even less likely to get diagnosed neurodiverse (despite being no less likely to be Autistic/ADHD) due to masking capabilities, so be firm :-) by glasgowduck (Tue 28th Jan 2020 9:25am)
  • Well Carnoustie Street by glasgowduck (Wed 29th Jan 2020 9:32pm)
  • I totally get you. I found my diagnosis quite hard? Which I really never expected. I thought it would be reassuring but I actually ended up really upset because I felt so guilty for beating myself up over the years and also really frustrated nobody noticed in childhood. However it’s made me more confident and self assured. I hope you get what you’re looking for and if you ever fancy a chat with a gal on the same page you know where I am! • I struggled to get people to take me seriously because I don’t “look ADHD”. Confident, two degrees, decent job yada yada. But once I got to the specialists it was really straight forward. I know a lot of people they ask to see school records etc but I just told them I was restless in school and my mum isn’t well enough to discuss it. by glasgowduck (Wed 4th Mar 2020 10:29am)
  • And female which tends to make it even more difficult. It was a weird process, had been brining up my lack of attention span / difficulty reading / loosing keys every 3 weeks for a couple of months and my doctor passed it off as a ‘bad personality trait’. The final time I went back with a bit more determination and told him how much it was impacting my work/relationships and how it impacted uni and eventually asked for a referral to a specialist. Got a referral six weeks later and diagnosed at the appointment and given meds. Been on meds for a year now with my dosage pushed up to the high heavens! by glasgowduck (Wed 4th Mar 2020 10:26am)

  • Hey! Don’t apologise, rambles happen! X I think the criteria is three areas of life so I’d ensure you mention it. I think the thing for me was that even at my happiest it was severely impacting my life. It was like that those depressive symptoms stayed around even when I was happy. • I’d say do it. Data is massive and spreads across industries, and from my industry alone (marketing) stats and data are huge. The job pool will be large as it’s transferable across industries. Also I found the masters course (albeit not the same one) a lot more enjoyable than undergraduate. It was more focused on practical work skills and theory than learning for the sake of. Definitely made me a lot more confident when going for jobs. by glasgowduck (Wed 25th Mar 2020 11:02am)

  • My partner needs a lot of blood so I give as much and as often as I can. I definitely view it as a total privilege that I’m well enough to give it, always hits home hard when I’m in that chair how grateful I am to not need to be on the other end of the donation. ❀️ by glasgowduck (Wed 22nd Apr 2020 10:09pm)
  • Personally, depending on what you do I’d be more inclined to see if you can transfer the skills to something else. If you want to be making 40-50k a total career change won’t get you that quick. But your skills phrased a different way could. Just depends what your current role is! by glasgowduck (Wed 22nd Apr 2020 10:07pm)

  • Yeah this is super unsafe. I work around the corner from here and had to genuinely hide in brewdog toilets one night because I was followed by a creepy character along the road and even then he was hanging outside brewdog waving at me after hiding for 15 mins... this was only approx 6pm but dark. Would not under any circumstances be walking through kelvingrove/walkway at night unless I was a 6ft8 bear. by glasgowduck (Mon 16th Nov 2020 3:17pm)

  • If you want somewhere with things around Beinglas Campsite is great, it’s on the west highland way route and has a pub, showers and an sheltered outdoor cooking facility. It’s just over two miles cycling from ardlui train station and is always good fun by glasgowduck (Wed 2nd Jun 2021 11:55am)

  • Yeah I found they were so unbothered by all my daft first time buyer questions and were more than happy to spend ages going through all the details for me. Also great at being very direct and realistic. Couldn’t recommend them more by glasgowduck (Fri 11th Jun 2021 10:38am)
  • Agreed! by glasgowduck (Fri 11th Jun 2021 5:11pm)

  • I don’t know if you can do this, but could you ask for a referral to a different centre? I was referred to Arndale Resource Centre and they were fantastic. Alternatively back to the GP and emphasise how much you’re struggling (needs to impact three plus areas of your life so - work, relationship, friends or education/hobbies) and push again. It’s tough but I found the trick with adhd diagnosis is persistence x by glasgowduck (Tue 13th Jul 2021 2:16pm)
  • This sounds so stressful for you, my doctor refused to refer me the first few times and said it was “bad personality traits” lollllll. If there’s anything I can help with, info about the process and what they ask so you can include it in your letter or anything else drop me a wee dm! Best of luck n fingers crossed! by glasgowduck (Tue 13th Jul 2021 2:33pm)

More than happy to awnser any Q’s. On my break or whatever x x by glasgowduck (Mon 1st Nov 2021 1:27pm)

  • I wouldn’t worry about that. My family car was never touched in 15 years. I think you’d find these days drumchapel is mostly families/young families. Definitely not what it used to be by glasgowduck (Wed 26th Jan 2022 6:16pm)

  • Barrhead travel HQ. You work in a dungeon underground with no windows. It’s a favourites game, little to no appreciation for your work, it’s outdated business systems that don’t reflect where the industry (both travel, marketing and sales) are now. A lot of the higher ups haven’t worked anywhere but there or are friends of staff so don’t have the experience or knowledge they do have and there’s always someone greeting in the toilets. • I’m not far up the road in Whiteinch (squire street area) and I think it’s fine. I’m a lone female most of the week and feel fairly safe. Maybe wouldn’t be strolling about unlit streets and through where the building sites are but love it here. To be fair, I really hate loud teenagers so that’s more my issue rather than being feart of folks πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ by glasgowduck (Wed 16th Feb 2022 2:04pm)

  • Very little advice other than the places people have already pointed you to, But wanted to send love. Takes a lot of courage and strength to ask for help and make that first step, and wanted to let you know that for that, I’m so proud of you x Get a good sleep n let us know how you get on please x by glasgowduck (Thu 31st Mar 2022 8:23pm)
  • Even more proud. What an icon you are. Will be thinking of you n crossing my wee fingers n toes that you get all the help you need. I got stuck with some interesting humans playing pc-dj tunes out loud for the full 8-10 hours. Honestly it’s a no by glasgowduck (Wed 4th May 2022 10:52am)

  • Is this one of the 12 week funded ones? I did project management last year! by glasgowduck (Tue 23rd Aug 2022 1:33pm)
  • Ahhhh sounds similar to mine time wise etc, except mine was fully funded through some scheme there’s loads on offer this year too. Mine was alright. The lecture quality was ✨meh✨, reading very intense and the assessment was quite hard but I passed regardless. I would do one again if it was free but I’m not sure if I’d pay for it - but that’s partially down to the meh tutors I got. I think the course quality will depend heavily on the quality and personality of the tutor. by glasgowduck (Tue 23rd Aug 2022 1:52pm)
