  • I like that you’ve turned it upside down just to mess with our heads ;) by wie_bitte (Tue 8th Jan 2019 12:25pm)
  • This looks like a moreisey lyric. Wait... what? OP, are you ok pal? by wie_bitte (Sun 24th Feb 2019 5:35am)
  • Exactly. A young dude with no moral compass is a sad thing for all of us! by wie_bitte (Fri 1st Mar 2019 6:31am)
  • Without doubt the BEST wellbeing resource in Glasgow I’ve found over the last 10 years is: Kadampa Meditation Centre Glasgow. You should go along and sit in on one of the Saturday morning sessions just to dip your toe in. If you become a member for ~£30/month you get unlimited access! I don’t know if you’ve ever meditated before or whatever but these sessions are highly engaging and will definitely help you reflect/ move forward. You don’t have to talk to anyone if you don’t want to but the people there are the loveliest and very accepting of everyone. Good luck! by wie_bitte (Wed 13th Mar 2019 8:32am)
  • I would cycle to train station by wie_bitte (Sat 16th Mar 2019 12:30pm)
  • I feel your pain mate. I had two nice hard tails stolen (queen st station beside waxy O’Connor’s and INSIDE one of the Strathclyde uni buildings). Think I saw one of them on eBay a few months later at a caravan park in midlands... wasn’t about to risk my life for a bike though! by wie_bitte (Fri 22nd Mar 2019 6:25pm)
  • Inside the James Weir bdg (cathedral st entrance). The security guards were no use whatsoever and couldn’t be bothered to check the CCTV. I once caught a guy trying the locks outside the JW building - he didn’t get anything so I followed him up the road while on the phone to the popo. He proceeded to the student halls and broke into one of the flats! Police still didn’t turn up so I got the semi-useless campus security to take care of him. by wie_bitte (Sat 23rd Mar 2019 5:21pm)
  • 2nd that - you’ll get much further with them being nice to the person on the call - I have direct experience of this where my landlord shouts and screams down the phone at them (gets fucking nowhere) I call and get issue resolved in minutes. Try to be factual, “what do you think has happened?” Could it be this?” I think this might have happened?” Who should I call to resolve that?” Honestly, the person you speak to is there to help and they have not played any part in creating this problem. Hope the reply above has given you some talking points by wie_bitte (Sun 31st Mar 2019 6:32am)
  • Did you see the lovely listed building that had to burn down before the building commenced? Standard practice. by wie_bitte (Fri 19th Jul 2019 5:17am)
  • This building is long gone buddy https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-36348272 by wie_bitte (Fri 19th Jul 2019 11:49am)
  • Bonbons - traditional chewy sweets (amazing!). After eight - minty chocolate aperitifs (also amazing) by wie_bitte (Thu 15th Aug 2019 4:44am)
  • Judges will seldom dismiss this form of evidence. Speaking with first hand experience. by wie_bitte (Fri 23rd Aug 2019 7:01am)
  • I am sure you always maintain good manners around her but one tactic i would employ is to try and reach out to her. Asking questions like: “how are you? Are you ok? I’m worried that something has happened? Has anything happened? I have been worried for a while and just wanted to check everything was ok with your health and everything. Etc... “ possibly ask her in for a cup of tea even. Ive dealt with a fair few crazy tenants over the years. IMO its a lot easier when they see you as the friend rather than enemy. by wie_bitte (Fri 23rd Aug 2019 7:16am)
  • Yea, that works too. Good luck with it. And report back, especially if she goes pure tonto! by wie_bitte (Fri 23rd Aug 2019 9:16pm)
  • I’m always late to the party mate. by wie_bitte (Tue 8th Oct 2019 8:39pm)

  • The price for a gallon of sanitiser 4 weeks ago was upwards of £50. That price could be a BARGAIN! by wie_bitte (Tue 17th Mar 2020 6:39am)
  • I don’t work in hospitality and I’m not condoning this behaviour but the employee should have understood their rights (as we all should) before they entered the agreement: Jobs in hospitality are highly volatile and all high staff turnover is expected. However, we would all hope that discretion is awarded at this time of crisis! It is likely this individual is a service occupier. See below for advice from shelter: “I’M A SERVICE OCCUPIER - what if I lose my job? If you are a service occupier, you will have to leave your tied accommodation if you leave your employment. However, you should be given notice to leave your tied accommodation. The amount of notice you are given may be specified in your employment contract or service occupancy agreement.” by wie_bitte (Fri 20th Mar 2020 5:34am)
  • Good effort. I’m working with a local support group in Glasgow. Do you know if the NHS VOLUNTEER network is supposed to supersede us? There has been a dearth of good information and national guidance other than “help thy neighbour”. by wie_bitte (Wed 1st Apr 2020 4:10am)
  • Absolutely. Destination number 1 when we’re allowed! by wie_bitte (Fri 10th Apr 2020 5:17am)
  • Looks like there is a creepy guy in the window filming you! by wie_bitte (Wed 29th Apr 2020 9:33pm)
  • Thanks, that map is class! Didn’t realise there was a lighthouse up there built in 1921 :) need to go have a look now. by wie_bitte (Fri 19th Jun 2020 11:32pm)

  • Cycled round this morning past the gold course but couldn’t see the lighthouse! Is it definitely still there? I must be blind by wie_bitte (Sat 20th Jun 2020 12:10pm)
  • Yes, Parakeets to be precise. I was amazed to see them for the first time the other day darting past en route to the park. We have the worlds most northernly flock of parrots according to the BBC (2019). by wie_bitte (Sun 26th Jul 2020 7:50pm)
  • There is no historical evidence that a “true scotsman” went naked under his kilt (according to my research). I like to explain my PRO-SHORTS logic with this simple equation: Dancing + Chaffing (legs) = Pain x 10 Don’t be a martyr! by wie_bitte (Fri 21st Aug 2020 12:23pm)
  • I absolutely agree. And this is supported in our national planning framework, our housing and transport strategies. Here is an excerpt from the Scottish Housing Strategy to 2040, encouraging creation of pedestrianised, connected neighbourhoods (places), rather than this urban sprawl we’ve been forced to endure… only time will tell if we get there. [Housing Strategy to 2040] Place-making We need to make a radical shift in how we plan and design housing and places. As a first step, we are establishing the Place Based Investment Programme in 2021, a £325 million investment over five years contributing to our ambitions in community-led regeneration, community wealth building, town centre revitalisation and 20 minute neighbourhoods. This will also be an important source of funding to contribute to mixed-use development projects which include affordable housing. by wie_bitte (Fri 27th Jan 2023 6:19am)
  • Och, thats just a wee glitch. Next time, go up to the first car and give it a good whack; that should fix it. by wie_bitte (Fri 24th Nov 2023 1:15am)
  • Yep, this. Best to speak to the business owner if possible. by wie_bitte (Mon 27th Nov 2023 11:11pm)
  • Last night my friend checked the price to get him home from Sauchiehall st to Merchant City…. £20!!!! Twenty bloody quid!!! Unbelievable. I happily jumped on the nice warm electric bus. by wie_bitte (Sat 9th Dec 2023 10:46am)
